Nice idea, fine arrangement. Unfortunately the articulation isn't very clean and accuracy is questionable. It actually sounds like he gets lost a few times. Again, I like the arrangement but the execution definitely leaves something to be desired, especially because the bar has been set so high for Warr and Chapman type touch instruments.
Oh, crap. After 40 years, I guess I will just take my axes to curb. I thought I would be slick if I recorded an overdubbed version of this. Now this guy plays the shit live!
i used to go to a private school so our band was 9 kids.. my freshman year, there was a guy with a stick and we played blue rondo, it was pretty sick... i was fumbling along trying to play the melody on my trumpet lol
Not a stick. A 14 string Bianco style guitar. Basically two 7 strings on the same neck built by luthier Bob Mason. Bianco was Flints' teacher and owns the original 14 string. Only two have ever been made.
Im relatively new to jazz music, i just recently found out how much i love it, and brubeck is one who totally got me lovin jazz, blue rondo a la turk is probably one of my faves that and take 5, can we see you do a version of take 5? that would be awesome.. i know benson does a wicked rendition and with your ability i know you would make it pretty cool!!!
dont give advancewarsaddict such a hard time, everybody. he was just speaking his mind, which is healthy. extremely well-played, dude. thats one of my top favorite dave brubeck songs
You did a fine job with the "normal" part of the piece, I'm just saying the improv bit is a little out place. You kind of did a laid-back country style improv, which itself was fine, but it was out of place amid a classic jazz piece.
That song took quite a bit for me to learn. I played it at school for my guitar jury (like a final exam for guitar). They still wouldn't accept it as an instrument though. They felt a pick was necessary.
awesome shit

Is it a Warr guitar? I've been debating between saving up for one of those or a custom 8 string.
