  • President Barack Hussein Obama 2010! The only choice for continued minority slavery and for others who continue to choose to live on the Washington plantation. 80% of the criminal acts in this Country are committed by poor blacks. 80% of the black children in America grow up without a father in the household. When a person has NO hope of realizing his dreams and with no hope of a successful future, you have what we have in our black population, DESTRUCTION. Quit voting for govt. slavery.PLEASE

  • President Barack Hussein Obama 2012! The ONLY choice!

  • pretty sure our forefathers intended us a free country . . . . not a free ride.

  • this Country was founded on Greatness--by Great People who believed in Freedom, even when other Countries sought to destroy Our Freedom...Our People are still Great; and yet, for some reason, i feel as though We are never given a Fair choice when it comes down to Our Presidential Elections...it seems like We always have to choose btw the lesser of two evils, instead of the Greatest Person (One American) for the job...

    NO Obama 2012!!!

  • I find the message of this painting pointless. I'm disappointed that he chose to portray the every day american as a person who relies so heavily on others to achieve the goals in his or her life. No, I don't mean that in the Libertarian sense, but in the Humanitarian sense.

  • Dude draws nice, too bad he doesn't have a brain to go with his artistic talent.

  • To all you Liberal Progressive radicals- ENOUGH WITH PLAYING THE RACE CARD when someone disagrees with Maobama & his radical views. It was whitey that won the election for him. Your argument is baseless & old. If anything, it was the Democratic Party that brought & fought to keep slavery alive in this country. Now you are supporting a new version of slavery being instituted by this admin. A BIG GOVT that tosses tidbits & 'free' stuff your way in exchange for your freedom & liberty. WAKE UP!!

  • @ZubudMan Absolutely 100% correct. However, you cannot free a slave who loves his chains.

  • @tcbtn1 ~ Voltair

    Well, paraphrased, but him nonetheless.

  • @ZubudMan yeah a lot of ppl choose to overlook the fact that Democrats owned slaves as well...i just dont get how you can call one side something--when both sides are guilty of the same acts...and i really like how you said "A BIG GOVT.,"cuz you hit the nail right on the head--there were a lot of early Presidents who completely disagreed with a Big Govt. for America. We the People have become way too Dependent on the Govt. we cant even get Americans to do the farm work in Alabama

    --__--

  • @MrIceBrick Hell, Blacks owned slaves too. Some have very sizable plantations.

  • THAT GUY ON THE BENCH IS THE MODERN DAY AMERICAN DREAM.... I WOULD TELL AMERICA TO WAKE UP? BUT IT'S TOO LATE... AMERICAS FUCKED... THIS ZOINIST PUPPET (OBAMA) WILL GET BACK IN AS WELL.. AMERICAS MASTERS ISRAEL WANTS TO WIPE IRAN OFF THE MAP... ON WARD CHRISTEN SOLDIERS OF AMERICA ARE NOW GETTING READY TO LAY DOWN THERE LIFES FOR THERE MASTERS IN ISRAEL... I.E. THE ZOINIST BANKERS ... WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG AMERICA???... OH YE!!! ISRAEL...

  • @peacelovingdude Doesn't sound real, "peaceloving , dude.LOL

  • @peacelovingdude I am SO SICK OF PEOPLE THAT BLAME THE JEWS (ZIONISTS) FOR EVERY EVIL IN THE WORLD! Damn this idea. Yes I said DAMN! I am a Christian and I have had it with this sick evil idea. Another holocaust is coming that will be worse than the one of the 1940's. Under the Antichrist. 2/3 of the Jews will die. (Zechariah.) God will curse those that curse the Jews. And don't give me that garbage that the Jews in Israel are not Jews. THAT IS A LIE.

  • @julieification im so sick of people who blame everyone else but the zionists... just for a start! who was behind the pulling of the twin towers, the illegal invasion and slaughter of the iraqi nation, the senseless criminal distruction of libya and the murder of God knows, how many of her once peaceful happy people? afghanistan, etc, etc, etc... there after syria now! WHY? so they can suround and wipe the peaceful nation of iran of the map... try anyway regardlessly... WAKE UP!

  • @peacelovingdude Dude, you are so misinformed. But I'm not surprised. So many hate the Jews and they manage to work their hate into every aspect of every issue.

  • Your artwork is awesome, keep it up please, we need this information going around to at least make people think if nothing else. thank you

  • After reading about on your blog about your strong support of Ron Paul, this painting made a lot more sense. You know, Ron Paul, the one with the ties to white supremacist organizations.

Funny how you said that it was't a racial statement or a political statement... it's about the poor Forgotten Man. You're not pointing fingers at anyone in particular. Just the darky up front, right? Grow a pair and just blame the brown people for all your rich white artist problems, you hypocrite.

  • @hanggolf Please note the look of concern or shock on George W. Bush's face or maybe it's relief that he isn't being skewered for his pitiful presidency by Jon's artistry. I consider this painting a political cartoon!

  • @kennygl2008 Obama is better? Get a life...

  • Wonderful painting and a oh so truthful video. Thank you sir for both.

  • If you want to see how well, "Living on the govt. plantation works", you need look no further than the inner city war zones. Man progress is a beautiful thing.

  • There are no sides to be on anymore because the banks have us all surrounded. The sun is about to drop below the horizon. Grab your teddy and tighten your ass cheeks

  • Lets face it Obama has done so many things that violate the constitution that in any other era he would be impeached. Now the liberals have so much control they really do want to destroy this country and make it a fascist state. One can only hope that in November he is voted out. Needless to say any politician is polluted, but anything is better that the current regime.

  • @MrJuliandh Lets REALLY face it. Every President since and including Reagan have been following the same agenda all along!

  • @kingg213 Lets make since Wilson !!!

  • @heyralph Ok but it has never been so in your face like it has since Reagan! The elite see that people are waking up and they have been really forcing their agenda like they never have before.

  • @kingg213 Agreed ! Thats why I'm voting for Dr. Paul. I cannot vote for any of the other candidates regardless of the fact that Obama may gain a second term...So Be It !!!

  • @heyralph You will rue that day. Guaranteed..

  • I think it's interesting that someone would point out the race of these presidents and make such a issue out of it. Since Obama is our first black president, did you think the other presidents were going to be depicted any other way than who they are? Maybe you would like Clinton to be black maybe. It truly takes a racists mentality to find racism in a painting that is clearly about the constitution and plight of America as it is right now.

  • @histhespian You're missing the point of those who aren't thrilled with this painting! Democrat POTUSs smiling and applauding. GOP POTUSs shocked and concerned. Look at George W. Bush!

  • @kennygl2008 If you think the GOP and the Dems are different, you are naive. Both are subservient to the banks and Big Business, to the detriment of the citizens. Both groups intentionally obscure reality by getting us to support one side or the other, when the difference is negligible - they're dividing and conquering, the oldest ploy in politics. If Romney wins, the nation will be no better; if McCain had won, do you think anything would have been different? You must awake!

  • Comment removed

  • It's amazing how much subtle racism you can squeeze into 2 1/2 minutes.

All those disapproving white faces looking at the stubborn black man in the standing on the constitution.

    Message received.

  • @KHAT0VAR

    Screw your bigoted race-baiting crap.

Are you too shallow to comprehend that the SKIN COLOR of these people has nothing to do with the point?

The true racist here is YOU. Regardless of the message, you first and primarily see nothing but superficial SKIN COLOR.

There's nothing more racist that preaching that people should be treated differently based on their SKIN COLOR. Are blacks OFF LIMITS for criticism? It's an insult to blacks to infer they need special treatment.

  • @UncleIrv

    Whoa! I guess I struck a nerve!

I must have hit pretty close to the mark, huh?

    I stand by my charge.

Because of the lack of any substantive difference between the policies of the Obama Administration and its predecessors (Including Saint Reagan) I tend to view claims of not liking Obama for his "policies" as code for not liking him for the melonin content of his skin.

  • @KHAT0VAR

Struck a nerve? Why, because I called out your racism? Don't flatter yourself.

You WISH you could strike my nerve. But you can't, because race-hustlers like you are a dime a dozen. And I've been opposing you racists for far longer than Obama has been in politics. Kind of screws up your theory, huh?

If you think there's no difference between the policies of Obama and the policies of Reagan then you're either on drugs or you're so far to the left you can't be reasoned with.

  • @UncleIrv Reagan spent and taxed his way to any economic prosperity our country may have enjoyed under his two terms. It took all of his first term to start to turn the economy around and that was after several tax increases and stimulus-like spending. Then there was the Savings & Loan Debacle. Anyone remember that one? When Reagan left office, he was the first President to run our national Debt to over a Trillion dollars. Reaganomics--Milton Friedman Economics--doesn't work!

  • @kennygl2008

You're just repeating propaganda manufactured by the left--but you need to be a moron to believe it!

Isn't it funny...you can't find a SINGLE liberal who accused Reagan of "raising taxes" DURING HIS PRESIDENCY. They ALL universally agreed he had LOWERED taxes --and criticized him for it at every step! This is a matter of historical record anyone can check.

And all his spending ENDED THE COLD WAR. I would say it was worth it. What has Obama's spending accomplished?

  • @UncleIrv I lived during the Reagan years and what I've written is true. Look it up is all I can say.

  • @kennygl2008 Reagan had one major tax cut at the beginning of his Presidency and the economy regressed further. Tax increases and spending are what stimulated our economy back then.

  • @kennygl2008

    You are drunk on Kool-Aid.

Any honest accounting method shows a MASSIVE NET DECREASE in taxes over the Reagan presidency.

The crap you're reading is a baldfaced lie promulgated by leftists. It uses DISHONEST ACCOUNTING METHODS to come up with those numbers.

This is why NO MEDIA RECORD FROM THAT PERIOD can confirm your claims--even though all the leftists are saying the OPPOSITE today!

Are you capable of applying common sense? Or can you only repeat talking points?

  • @kennygl2008

I don't care if you lived during the reign of King Louis XIV.

Are you actually trying to tell me that DURING REAGAN'S PRESIDENCY the entire press corps and every Democrat hack was not complaining about Reagan LOWERING taxes? You mean they were actually complaining about him RAISING them? Are you actually trying to tell me that?

I asked you to cite JUST ONE media reference from that period that confirms this. JUST ONE. Can you possibly conceive why you can't do this?

  • @kennygl2008 Reagan quadrupled the deficit - if Obama had done so, the deficit would be 40 trillion. He started us on the road to massive govt debt. You will SOON see that regardless of who wins in Nov, the worlds economy WILL collapse, and theres nothing anyone can do. Did you get that? There's nothing anyone can do to stop it.

  • The foundation and cornerstone of our country must be Jesus Christ.

  • Timely article today;

    nytimes.com/2012/02/15/health/policy/health-care-mandate-was-first-backed-by-conservatives.html

  • Favorite this video and put it on the front page of youtube!

  • Wish i was Rich, I would ask to buy this photo from you its GREAT.

  • I think you should have George Bush standing on one part of the constituion, Obama on the other. Obama is just continuing George Bush's agenda. (and yes it goes back further) My point being, don't just blame Obama, it divides along so-called party lines.

  • The problem with Jon McNaughton, is he doesn't know who he is. Being an American citizen is a legal title for which you have privileges, not rights and pay taxes for use of said title, not for the payment of benefits. Look up the Grace Commission. Also, as stated in many Supreme Court decisions - the government has no duty to protect anyone. ----- I don't like or dislike Obama, he is a puppet, like every president, at least from 1871 to today, so he is not to blame, he is just playing his part.

  • It's always amusing to see just how fucking dumb yanks can get. It's great to see the ignorance and cowardice destroy the evil empire from within. You deserve it.

  • Just another jealous American hating loser

  • @tbbaot I don't hate you I pity you.

  • @nilbud

How's that ass-pounding Ireland is getting by the Lisbon Treaty and the IMF?

    You enjoying it are you?

Hundreds of years of fighting for independence from England and you sign your destiny over to the unelected bureaucrats in the EU as soon as you start enjoying it.

What beautiful losers you are over there.

Well at least that Guinness will soften the blows, eh?

  • @CRAPCANNONS Please don't make remarks about something you have no comprehension of. Your problem is that you're just a retard by EU standards your mindless indoctrinated state is less than slavery. Now off you trot, go salute a flag and watch FOX you sad third world joke.

  • @nilbud

Oh really, sweetheart? Please explain this oh so difficult situation to another European. Can you? Do you even know what's happened to you? Or is your sorry ass too punch-drunk?

You--> "Oh Yeah? Well we'll sign the Lisbon Treaty and have bureaucrats in Brussels tell us what to do! Take that, England!"

    HAHAHA you sad tit.

  • @nilbud

The exquisite part is that the IMF is based in DC! Oh the irony. That must hurt. Have another pint to have that one go down.

    "Ailing Ireland Accepts Bailout

Nation Asks EU, IMF for Tens of Billions to Boost Banks and Public Finances"

"Ireland will need another bailout, says former IMF director

Ireland is unlikely to wrest control of its finances even in 2013 when the current IMFEU deal runs out and will be forced to seek a second bailout, according to a former IMF executive"

  • @CRAPCANNONS Your mind is just a slurry of nonsense. Your alcoholism is spewing out in your incoherent fear filled drivel. You make up quotes from vaguely identified characters and clearly you live in terror. It's got nothing to do with reality though you halfwit clown. england is irrelevant.

  • @nilbud

Myes quotes from The Guardian and the Wall Street Journal are `a slurry of nonsense'. Get your boyfriend to Google them for you.

And have him get you a map sweetheart. Your owners are the EU, in Brussels, in Belgium, on the Euro-continent, and the IMF is in DC, in the US. `Sad third world joke'? You were saying? I know more about your country than you do hahaha!

Start selling yourself for your pints around Stab City. It might reinvigorate your ailing tourism trade.

  • Is this painting a political cartoon? Talk about being a divisive piece of drivel! Good God! This is the type of "art" that Joseph Goebbels would approve of and Jon McNaughton's talents would've been truly welcomed at the Propaganda Ministry Of The Third Reich! Please note the look of concern on Dubya's face. Jon! Why not do a painting that seeks to unite Americans rather than divide us?

  • Absolutely brilliant, the pro-government presidents applaud as the pro-people presidents look on in horror. I’ve never seen a more moving painting…I must have a copy.

  • Powerfull

  • Although the painting is powerful the message would have been more powerful if a FAMILY was sitting on the bench with kids that are going to be burdened with the mess.

  • Im in love with this painting! Thank you for bringing the corruption to life!

  • McNaughton: You are NOT that talented, but what LITTLE talent God did give you has been WASTED on this piece of TRASH!

You white people are going CRAZY! SMH in AMAZEMENT and DISGUST!

  • @1948tnwoman YOU are the crazy one. If you can't see what Obama has done to this country then YOU need to get out from under a rock! He is a disgrace to our country for everything he has done. He WILL be voted out the next election because there are too many people that are fed up with his lies and bullshit! YOU Racist!!!

  • @1SuperSweety You're misguided and your thoughts have been poisoned by the influence of the pro-right conservative propaganda anti-Obama machine. Their goal is to rewrite history and try to shift the blame for America's current struggles onto Obama and the Democrats. What has the Republican Party done for you and your fellow Americans during the last 5 years? The GOP tanked our economy and has done nothing, I repeat, NOTHING, to help raise us again. The GOP is The Party of NOthing!

  • My favorite reaction is John Adams.

I thought he nailed that one (based on my research).

  • It is great to see an artist who is not a slave to Liberal dogma. I went to art school in the last decade. Everyone was doing projects depicting Bush as Hitler or Chaney as a monster. Professors were feeding kids Liberal propaganda. There was no originality. There was no outside the box thinking. Definitely, no tolerance for different opinions or points of view. No one there was "expanding" their minds. When everyone thinks the same, no one is thinking.

  • DO Something????..do what?.... paint???.....Presidents of the past???? so republicans will bring balance????

  • How exactly did Obama violate the constitution? Not clear to me....

  • @chconger

Obama's most direct violation of the Constitution has been the "individual mandate" contained within Obamacare. Never before were American citizens REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A PRIVATE PRODUCT just for living and breathing.

The bigger problem is not Obama's violation of the Constitution, but his general DISDAIN for it--which he has confirmed by direct statements. Obama is guided by what Thomas Sowell called "the Unconstrained Vision" of Utopianism. This is the root of tyranny.

  • Hi UncleIrv

Just because its the first time Americans have been required to purchase a private product, does not mean its unconstitutional. He (and congress) could have taken over the insurance industry completely and provided universal health care with tax dollars. That would be constitutional by your definition, as precedent is with Medicare. Would that be OK?

Please provide links to these "direct statements" you say prove his "disdain". Never heard any of these before.

    Cheers

  • @chconger

Apparently you are another person who is illiterate of the Constitution. The Constitution does not give the federal government the right to force individual citizens to purchase a product. This is clear.

It does not surprise me that you're unaware of Obama's direct statements against the Constitution, since they've been suppressed by the media. Most of them were during a 2001 NPR interview, before he started being careful about publicly admitting his views.

    (continued)

  • @UncleIrv

Can you provide links to these comments to NPR you refer to? Where is the evidence of this?

  • @chconger

Am I your mom? You can easily locate the interview. It was on NPR station WBEZ in 2001. Links are not allowed in comments.

    From the interview:

"the Constitution reflected an enormous blind spot in this culture"

"it also reflected the fundamental flaw of this country"

"the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties"

    From Obama's Columbia Thesis:

"While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy"

  • @UncleIrv

Here..if you listen to the entire interview, Obama is evaluating the Civil Rights movement and, ironically, he says the Supreme Court was a failure in cases that it took on a role of redistributing resources!!. Imagine that! Quite different in context.

The you tube clips were edited with an agenda to help elect McCain on '08. . That's all fine, but its just common political hackery at work - not proof of anything.

Columbia thesis is a hoax - see my other post.

    Best Regards

  • @chconger

No, you're dishonestly spinning his words. Clearly the context of his comments is that he is LAMENTING the failure of the court to address "redistribution."

He touts positively the "coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change." I ask you, what is unclear about "REDISTRIBUTIVE CHANGE"?

Aside from contested quotes: Are you actually going to tell me with a straight face that you've missed his countless references to REDISTRIBUTION in his speeches?

  • @UncleIrv Interesting. Ill get back to you on this. I have to step out for a bit.

    Regards

  • @chconger

Like I clearly said, the bigger problem is not technical violation.

Completely taking over health care would be worse. But leftist scholars would argue its constitutionality due to generations of activist corruption of Commerce Clause interpretation. In the original understanding, it would be unconstitutional.

Obama is clearly in the camp of viewing the Constitution as a negative impediment to progressive agenda. The bigger problem is his Socialist tendencies themselves.

  • @UncleIrv

Why do you say he has socialist tendencies? Provide proof of this. (and by proof I mean his comments....not quotes from other people saying he is a commie)

Provide proof and I will be convinced.

  • @chconger

It amazes me that so many people are ignorant of this. Where should I start? Obama has made literally HUNDREDS of statements with Socialist premises.

"The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy."

    - from his Columbia thesis

  • @UncleIrv

The entire "Columbia Thesis" thing was hoax revealed well over 2 years ago.

Don't believe me?...go to the right wing Pajamas Media and search it up yourself.

Check Michael Ledeen's post on Oct 23 2009.

  • @chconger

Ahhh, thank you for correcting this. It really pisses me off when crap like this goes viral! The quotes from the radio interview are clearly authentic.

Obama has fought to keep ALL of his university records sealed, including his time at the Harvard Law Review. What is he hiding? He is obviously aware that his political views are radical.

Nevertheless, SOCIALIST PREMISES abound in his public statements as president. To deny this questions whether you understand Socialism.

  • @UncleIrv

Well I certainly understand socialism. But I must admit I still don't see any evidence from this guy. I listen to his speeches and its all pro-capitalism.

It all seems like a conspiracy theory. "what is he hiding?"

Too bad you cant send links here. Would be a better discussion.

    Cheers

  • @chconger

Ahh, a sly evasion. "Capitalism" does not inherently exclude either "redistribution" or other Socialist concepts.

As for his college records: "Conspiracy" is your term. I never inferred anything "conspiratorial." Simply apply reason to this question: Why would a president work to conceal his entire college history? Would not the most obvious reason be that its contents are controversial?

Add to that the radicalism documented within his first book.

    Sure, talk to you later.

  • @UncleIrv

    Hey -- I am back.

Is Obama a socialist? I think he is a moderate, pragmatic, who would like policy to be further to the left than he can get, but will go for a deal that inches it closer. I have not seen anything radical come out of this admin. Most reaction has been to the ACA. I am sure you know that large portions of the ACA, including the individual mandate, is based on a Heritage Foundation recommendation. Not exactly Noam Chomsky.

  • @chconger

You've confused the facts. The Heritage Foundation made recommendations to ROMNEY--not Obama--on his STATE health care initiative. Those recommendations don't apply to a federally-based system.

The obvious fact that Obama is sympathetic to Socialism is irrespective of his legislative accomplishments. It is clear from his rhetoric, his own autobiographical statements, his style of action, and his chosen associations.

OF COURSE you see him as a moderate. You're a leftist.

  • @UncleIrv

If you google "Assuring affordable healthcare for all Americans" by Stuart M Butler, you will find the Heritage Foundation report. It's not for Romney, or Mass, its for the US.

This is a US wide proposal direct from a right wing think tank.

  • @chconger

I found the document but it won't download in searchable form. I don't have time to read 26 pages right now. Can you quote the precise places it supposedly advocates Obamacare?

Nevertheless, it wouldn't matter. All it would mean is I would stop supporting Heritage.

You should understand that part of the philosophical foundation of Conservatism is the belief that we should not place our trust in persons or groups. Our trust is in universal principles. I do my own research.

  • @chconger

Sorry, I was wrong. I figured out how to search the document within the browser. The word "Obama" appears 0 times.

More importantly, you're totally wrong about the content of the document. Most of its recommendations DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSE the strategies of Obamacare.

Perhaps it is Obamacare that you are confused about. If you think it resembles recommendations within this document, you are seriously deluded.

And btw, Heritage explicitly opposes Obamacare.

  • @UncleIrv

Why are you searching this doc for Obama?...the thing was written in 1989?

It does specifically call for a mandate. That's what we were discussing, and that's what is says. And its for the entire US ---RIGHT?

Heritage opposes the ACA now.... And that makes me smile. I guess Romney is not the only one asking for a do-over.

    Best Regards

  • @chconger

Okay, I see where it does advocate a mandate. So we are back to my previous statement: this simply proves Heritage cannot be trusted.

Secondly, we're also back to my previous statement that, as Conservatives, our trust is not AD HOMINEM in nature---a fact you progressives seem unable to relate to. Conservative principles are self-authoritative. They do not receive their validation through any person.

So how is Romney relevant to the question? He's just as statist as Obama.

  • @UncleIrv

I agree with you that the Heritage Foundation cannot be trusted...they clearly oppose this policy now only because its embraced by Obama. But I want to underline that its not just Heritage, the individual mandate was once a mainstream solution provided by the right in response to "Hillarycare" It was embraced buy many on the right. Nobody....nobody called the mandate a trampling of the constitution before Obama came along.

So this painting, if its about the mandate. is bunk.

  • @chconger

I think the painting is about a LOT more than the mandate--and more than Obama. Statist tendencies have dominated US policy for 100 years.

One thing you're not accounting: the political spectrum has expanded since Hillarycare. Whereas a mandate may have once seemed a more mainstream alternative to full-on statism, in the current spectrum it is viewed as defeatism.

And most Conservatives considered a mandate unconstitutional LONG before Obama. Just not Heritage, apparently.

  • @UncleIrv

So the last 100 years have generally been described as the "American Century", reflecting obvious US dominance in political, economic and cultural terms.

You believe all this was the result of flawed policy... a wrong turn in 1912? The 1800's were the golden years? With slavery? a civil war???

  • @chconger

Don't waste my time with sophistry. That's a false dichotomy.

The point is not that "everything in the last 100 years was flawed." The point is that STATIST ASSUMPTIONS have held sway since the beginning of the Progressive Era. Obama is merely the culmination--and most radical proponent--of this trend.

But he was born too late. The cultural re-assessment of these assumptions has finally begun. And I welcome it.

Those things you mention have nothing to do with statism.

  • @UncleIrv

You say statist tendencies have dominated the last 100 years. OK I don't disagree.

My point is that the last 100 years, the "progressive area" has been pretty darn good by many measures. You have not argued against that.

    So far so good.

What I am trying to ask you to explain to this old liberal, is how have the statist tendencies of the last 100 years been harmful to America?

    Best Regards

  • @chconger

    Good question.

Yes, much good change came to pass during the Progressive Era. But the best of those changes were not caused by Progressivism but by natural cultural evolution.

The attendant Statist assumptions have, on the other hand, nurtured a mentality where average Americans look more and more to COLLECTIVISM and STATE COERCION for solutions. The result is growing CORPORATIST corruption and political ELITISM where a "ruling class" is increasingly unchallengeable.

  • @UncleIrv

On a side note, I really am enjoying this discussion. Thanks for hanging in there.

    - Would it be fair to call yourself a Minarchist ...for minimal statism?

  • @chconger

Thanks. I always enjoy intelligent debate.

"Minarchist"? That might be accurate. I'd rather just call it "Tea Party Conservatism." I understand the term "Conservatism" to simply mean "conserving" the original principles of checks and balances, state's rights, and limited government advocated by the founders. This is the Conservatism of Edmund Burke.

True Conservatism needs to triumph over NEO-conservatism, which is a misguided statist corruption. We're in that battle now.

  • @UncleIrv

So by limited government, what would that mean for you specifically? For example would you advocate for Medicare to be abolished?

I am going to brush up on Edmund Burke.

  • @chconger

By "limited government" I mean confining government to its legitimate function as a neutral "referee" rather than a "manager" picking winners and losers.

Yes, Burke is a good read. If you want to understand Conservatism on a philosophical level, it comes down to the difference between the American Revolution and the French Revolution--as Burke so expeditiously elucidated.

I would also HIGHLY recommend "Basic Economics" by Dr. Thomas Sowell. It's an eye-opening revelation!

  • @chconger

By the way, I don't regard things like this painting as particularly helpful. Aside from its artistic merits, stuff like this just "preaches to the choir."

Rather than "emotionally based" polemic like this, I'd rather see people delve into Conservative philosophy on a deeper intellectual level. We don't need more emotionally charged people; we need more people of deep historical understanding who can elucidate Conservative principles to the masses.

  • We the People! Not you obama you narcissistic treasonous socialist communistic pig!

  • @bxjam85 What do we have without the Constitution? Are you an Anarchist? Not even an Anarchist would suggest that revering and holding a document that outlines your right to think act own and be free from government interference (even if you are a moron) is base and illogical. Who cares who the founding fathers were in the latest iteration of 'history'? They wrote a document that nations still look to today. If not 'constitution worship' then what? What rules do THEY follow?

  • Maybe hes standing on it so it doesn't blow away.... Guess the jerks before him shouldn't have let it fall on the ground like that...

  • @EleFFxi Don't you have somewhere to go occuppy?

  • @vexviper Yes, I'm occupying my job so I can pay my bills so I can continue to occupy my home.

  • Ron Paul. An oath keeper. The reason many Americans wont vote for Ron Paul is because most americans are not oath keepers, they are opportunists and have no conviction. We elect the President who is most like us.

  • Abe Lincoln was a tyrant who worked with genocidal maniacs. I like the message of the painting though, but some presidents weren't depicted the right way.

Then again, I may be biased. But not about Lincoln.

  • @sheepOG You need to go back to school son and learn that former President Lincoln freed the slaves or was that history book burned or thrown away by your liberal teachers?

  • @vexviper It is precisely the "liberal" court historians who would have you believe he did that. He did no such thing.

  • Not really clear on how Obama isn't defending the Constitution. Seems to me that Bush's Patriot Act infringes on personal freedoms more than anything I've ever seen. The guy's a great artist, but his anger is definitely misdirected.

  • @mgrossie well he did sign the renewal for the patriot act and he did sign the NDAA bill.

  • @belatedconformr

Agree. Obama belongs on the painting, in the exact position he is depicted, for these actions..

  • @mgrossie have you been paying attention? You do know that he resigned that act.. right? After he said he wouldn't. You also know he passed NDAA, right? Obama got handed a Bush legacy, but he's running it like he owns it. At some point.. he does.

  • FDR was paralyzed.

  • I agree with this 100%

  • good painting but y is reagan sad? he made fail-o-nomics?

  • The truth is that every President after Reagan was bought and paid for mostly by major banks and military companies, and all together dismantled the constitution. If you're still stuck in the mentality that "My party is good and your party is evil", you're being played. The two party system is the same beast with two different heads. Powerful people profit using race, religion, gender, political party, and income class as tools to keep us divided and bickering so we don't see the bigger picture.

  • @se777en73120 Even Reagan sometimes was bought. I still think Reagan was a great man, on the right track, but still not entirely successful.

  • While that may true, Obama stands alone when it comes to ruining what was left of our nation and driving a wedge between it's people

  • @tbbaot President Obama is trying to make it better for all Americans and there is proof of his efforts. Look up his accomplishments! The GOP, through the TEA Party, right-wing lie and hate mongers, and the GOP PACs has tried to divide and confuse Americans so they'll believe President Obama is the problem. Look at who the Republican Presidential candidates have been and are now and President Obama looks good! Question: What has the Republican Party done for you during the last 5 years?

  • Compelling, Prophetic and Sovereignly timed

  • This is a brilliant painting and a great video overview. Kudos!

  • this painting is brilliant. here is a big FUCK YOU to all you corrupt socialist obama voting dipshits

  • @FukkkObama

Socialists aren't actually corrupt I think.. they are retarded but have every bit of soft science supporting their view points. It doesn't matter in the end because when they act out the soft science it always has failed to meet it's ideal net return and so regardless of the soft science the reality is their is a fallacy. I honestly think that socialists have too much personally staked in their beliefs to see or admit at any point that their values are anti-human.

  • @FukkkObama Your comment shows the success corporate $ has had in redefining the christian imperative to help those less fortunate as 'socialiam'. Conservative administrations are more greed friendly so big business has employed all the most powerful persuasion tricks from the advertising industry to feed your small-minded fears. Read this if you have any balls news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8474611.stm

  • @FukkkObama Your ignorance and gullibility is hilarious.

  • FANTASTIC!

    4 million thumbs up!

    GTFO 2012!

  • Mcnaughton is a right-wing fool! I wouldn't have him paint my bathroom.

  • @ajham2001 Excuse me, Don't you mean "Outhouse" LOL

  • The only way to finding prosperity in America is through corruption. It's all in either how much money you have, or who you know.Besides that, hard work only guarantees two things: You're gonna stay poor, and you are gonna die young.

  • Is Ronald Reagan back there raising his taxes 11 times? Or is he fighting for him, closing tax loopholes on millionaires and billionaires? Or perhaps Reagan apologizing to the man (again after he did so on tv) for leaving him such a large deficit.

  • Would you actually hang this childish cartoon on a wall in your house/office? You might as well hang a photo of a black jesus celebrating Kwanza. It's that ridiculous.

I certainly captures emotion... the emotion you get when you have an education of a 3rd grader and your life controlled by mindless rhetoric you hear on media owned by Ruport Murdoch.

  • Also I like how Theodore Roosevelt, undoubtedly one of America's greatest presidents, is being portrayed as applauding Obama stomping the constitution. Only a mindless sheep would possibly believe that Roosevelt (or Obama, or Clinton) was somehow Anti-America.

    Roosevelt:

Decorated war hero from foreign wars

Expanded US influence across our hemisphere and into Asia and Europe (a Progressive idea)

Began the basis of our Anti-Trust Laws which allow Free Markets to flourish.

  • Lol, I love how people keep blaming Obama for Bush's fuck ups. Thanks to Obama, my wife and I both have jobs. Thanks to Obama, Americans can refinance their houses to fix what Bush let big banks screw up. Bush shat on the Constitution when he signed the PATRIOT act, yet nobody cared.

We'll be seeing Obama around for 4 more years, because the Republican party can't find anyone worthy of voting for.

  • haha this is a joke. did tony pro direct this dribble???

  • research shows that most presidents have been in on it.

  • This is not art. It is garbage.

  • @acertainshape it is not art? in what sense, you mean technically. because i my self do not have the skill to paint that painting. or is it you just don't like the work and what it represents?

  • Comment removed

  • Where were you when Bush passed the "Patriot Act" possibly the biggest afront to the constitution in the last 50 years?

BTW you are actually aware that TARP and the Auto Bailouts began under George W Bush. I also hope that you are aware that the expansion of Federal spending was done under W Bush. Federal budgets are planned 5 years in advance and approved the year before.

Your a honorless sophmoric partisan hack, who respects neither history nor America.

  • @DCSnark These folks are in denial that Bush ever did anything wrong. They think that working class people should have to go without health care because insurance companies screw people over by finding ways out of paying for peoples' coverage. People don't want the rich to have to pay taxes.

  • @runningrabbit07 i think you fail to see something in this picture, it takes all of the presidents who have trampled on the Constitution and puts them on the right side of that picture, and Bush is on the right side, along with obama?

  • @Weaponsuser Bush senior and junior are both "one Worlders". They are no better than Obama but they can sure act conservative for the crowd.

  • @Weaponsuser : he's not clapping like the rest of the liberal democrat communist kenyans nazi facist elitests who give money to the poor people taken from rich people
