  • Phil Anselmo is one of the hardest motherfuckers Ive ever heard speak. How he explains will and fear is incredible. Since i was 15 this bad motherfucker put a different mindset in my brain.

" A new level! Of Confidence & Power. Such Power..."

  • Great Tits ( o Y o )

  • lol phil has been chewing that gum for about 40 minutes now.

  • Phil is a good dude i no exactly what he's talking about.

  • u fight addiction the rest of your life!..boredom is my downfall so need to b on the go!..congrats phil..got my aa for the day!..thanks brother

  • I pray for all addicts everyday, everywhere. We all have our crosses to bear but addiction just sucks man!!! I hope there really is an afterlife so us addicts can have some real peace in the end!!!

  • I have a new found respect for this man! Telling of the real horrors of heroin addiction, not sugar-coating it for the masses!! And for the record, it really has nothing to do with GOD!! It had to do with him as a man and his " WILL"......

  • you are a saint phil. Spreading the word of your pain to help others is a true gift. Dont stop brother

  • i know opiates are bad but i love them so damn much... i am like a diabetic with insulin... i just have to have opiates to be normal....

  • @shaytan1313 In your eyes you might appear normal, but in someone else`s, you`re someone else.

  • i know opiates are bad but i love them so damn much... i am like a diabetic with insulin... i just have to have opiates to be normal....

  • Lol and yet there are still 2 people who "Dislike". I suppose it's the classic case of troll disliking. Going to every link possible and disliking it. Otherwise, I'm not sure how you could dislike a video of an Icon that is trying to help people stay off heroin.

  • Sounds like he should be speaking to a group of delinquents and drug addicts, but I guess it is really motivating to tell these kids to stay on the right track..Awesome fucking story.

  • This interviewer is focusing way too much on heroin. Like "heroin is interesting I'll ask about it". It's not that exotic once you've heard a guy talk about it for that long. I'd rather hear him talk about his philosophy or something.

  • They need to play this in schools.

  • I named it!!!

  • I love how he didn't really answer the lasting affects Question... I love this dude

  • tht story about him killing his friend and bringin him back is crazy, ive never done heroin and im 100% sure i never will.phil rules

  • @caseyjones67 I bought 5 people back from an overdose im probably better at CPR then most doctors. One guy I knew was overdosing in a shooting gallery and I bought him back and he was pissed at me cause he was trying to kill himself.....no shit

  • @FernAveEnt You realize saying your a christian means that you follow christianity, which is a religion right? Phil isnt a Douche*, he sounds like a great person and if "God" says otherwise then fuck him. I'd rather burn in hell with phil for eternity than to sit in heaven with your boring ass. All I can say is live your life with no regrets.

  • @TheConcreteBalloon my father was in the very same situation as phil after his enlistment in the marines. as a young kid i suffered alot for his mistakes my entire family did, but GOD made a change in his life and hes still alive and happy and that is real proof that my god accepts and loves EVERYONE even the junkies and the ones down in the pit of life.

  • @FernAveEnt A Brainless tirade. To be expected from some weak fucking Christian. You didnt out-argue, out-reason anyone, your'e just another self assured idiot, who is too stupid to realize, your'e just a self assured idiot. Why hasn't your Jesus come back yet, to help you? Maybe he knows just what the people who take his name are like, and is ashamed to do so? Cause fuck buddy, if youre what a Christian is like, then i can understand someone distancing themself, even lives away, from you.

  • Comment removed

  • @FernAveEnt Pal, i can out-do you in every way. You make inflammatory, baseless comments, and when someone takes you up on it, you cower and use the standard issue "internet tough guy" shit to take the victim status, thus attempting to deflect more justified criticism of your fucking idiotic views. Youre the troll here pal, so much for the "forgiveness" of the moronic Christian. "Demon riddled"..tell me, have you ever visited reality before? You belong in a fucking Cave.

  • My, what a truly braindead dumbfuck you are...if i were on the same continent as you, i'd happily crucify you...but then i'd get shit on my hands. Do the world a favour fuckhole, go stretch your neck.

  • I doubt Rex appreciates these last 2 minutes.

  • MAN OF WISDOM

  • whose that fu kin moron that keeps coughing in the back ground

  • I am a hopeless alkie as well. Every drug follows a similar path and a predictable outcome. It's a disease. Phil is gaining a lot more of a place in my heart than he ever did...God why did he not have this conversation with Pete Steele. I think Pete would have listened. On to part 6...

  • @punishedexistence Phil wrote a tribute here:

    w w w .revolvermag. com/news/peter-steele-remembered-phil-anselmo-pays-tribute.html

  • At the end of every one of these clips, Phil says so bas ass shit.

  • This interview is mind blowing Phil deserves an oscar for this Phil you are the man!

  • ANSWER ME it's entertaining RIGHT!?......yeah, yep, uhu...x)

  • this is funny shit...the dude is talking to pussy ass university students like they just insulted his mother or something

  • @mongolenpup That's just how he talks. I like it. Heh.

  • @mongolenpup phil is a fucking beast

  • Its been about a month since I put the rig down and I wish his words could really put justice into what one goes through. I have some friends on it and still try to talk me into it to bring me back in the cycle, but I just had to say enough is enough. No one or their friends and families should have to deal with this nightmare. My heart bleeds for addicts who suffer and want them to understand there is a world outside of that hell on earth. Only the strong survive and must endure the pain.

  • I cracked a fart off to this.

  • Phil still gets what he wants out of a crowd, "ANSWER ME!". I have such respect for him for cleaning up and discussing his faults and regrets. I miss Pantera and most of all we ALL miss Dime. Rest In Peace brother.

  • wow..that part about his friend overdosing was very intense..and it was sweet of him to stay up with him all night <3

  • @nirvanalover16 was it sweet to give him heroin, it was his fault thats what he just explained to you...your not sweet if you border line kill some one and revive them.

  • Damn I wouldn't wanna get Phil pissed.....fuck! haha he's a real outspoken guy and thats respectable.

  • man the dreams about drugs suck when ur sober they seem so real.

  • @dethmetaldan i havent had dreams of any hardcore drugs, but i have plenty about smoking weed, it does seem real...the process of smoking and getting the satisfaction of being high is there but when you wake up and realize it was a dream it turns to disappointment, i had dreams where i got big bags of bud and was ecstatic and woke up like DAMN and had no money and no bud, lol

  • i love rex

  • wisen ya up

  • @wesjoe311 Vinnie Paul is that you? g

  • @wesjoe311

he is just explaining....he doesn't want you to feel sorry for him

  • phil anselmo it`s a metal legend here in mexico ,pantera came to mexico several times and i can see pantera once ,i hope he still playing music for all the fans of heavy metal ,good interview

  • i would definitely screw the rack off that broad

  • Can someone tell me what he say at 1:56 - i mean "your will is a" and what? loof or what? I dont understand english so well :) so please help me with this word and meaning of it ;)

  • @Ango360 He said "your will is aloof."

  • @Ango360 aloof, it means to be at a distance

  • @Ango360 "aloof" meaning like out of control.

  • fuck i'd be afraid to be in that audience

  • Ain't no difference btw heroin or alcohol addiction, these are same hard and heavy drugs ...

Unfortunately alcohol has in someways a "positive image" for it can seem jovial, convivial, fun, social factor and cultural ... it can be ...

  • @thaliemiel

I'm an alcoholic. It's really hard to stay sober because alcohol is socially acceptable and when you have a bunch of friends who drink and party, you either have to stop partying with them for good or give into the temptation again.

  • @iamyourgranddaddy

Absolutely and this really is a plague. I don't have this problem personally but I have people close to me having such problems and I can see how they struggle each and every day.

What kills me is that even if you get out of it, you will always be fragile towards the product ...

In, it's hell for everyone, addicts and families (if they don't abandon you and are willing to look the "thing" in the eye) out, you're sick for life anyways ...

  • @thaliemiel

I'm fortunate in that I've got my problem under control. I have one or two beers every once in a while without going any further than that. I feel like I have more control and power over it if I allow a tiny bit instead of total avoidance. I say I'm "lucky" because there used to be a time where if I got just one beer in me, I'd be moving up the ladder to binging on hard liquor in no time.

  • @iamyourgranddaddy I'm an alcoholic. I agree 100%

  • Phil is an amazing person. Fuck... This touches me. Deep and amazing stuff.

  • silly fairy tales huh..... WEL SEE SOON ENOUGH YOU -ME- PHIL EVERYBODY WILL BOW BE FOR GOD AND YES ITS NONE OTHER THEN YEP YOU GUESSED IT JESUS CHRIST SO GET READY BCZ IT WONT THAT MUCH LONGER I ASHURE YOU ! RATHER THEN YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT

  • @kneedeepguitarplaye1 Could you fuck off with that shit? Jesus doesn't exist. Fuck you, crazy idiot. Your mind is fucked.

  • I forgot to say it the 1st FIVE thumbs up BUt TY SO much for posting this! ! ! ! ! !

  • The knowledge Phil has... he should write a fuckin book, mainly for people who aren't into his music or watching this shit on youtube, he could help a lot of people

  • @LadyFriend710 nah, hes not the most literate guy, you need to see him and hear him talk to get the full message,

  • @LadyFriend710 reading what he has to say in a book wouldn't be nearly as intense because you would miss out on the way he says things, the way he speaks is so integral to the overall message. The only way I think it would work is if he had an audio book that he did the narration for himself. I could easily listen to a 4 hour long audio book about addiction written and narrated by Phil Anselmo.

  • As an alcoholic said 'drinking is like putting out fire with gasoline'.

  • you've got it Flanel lmao.

  • @FernAveEnt jesus is for the weak. phil is a black goat walking the unbeaten path.

  • @mushroomleg ... uh... ok

  • @FernAveEnt Jesus is a fraud, god does not exist. When you realize that, then YOU will be able to move forward, and god isn't gonna heal his back, doctors can

  • @JohnWW7 oooooh, ok. thank you for lightening me big guy. no go keep being brainwashed and don't forget to worship entertainers... and i don't get involved with internet tough guys that obviously haven't done any homework. i'm glad that Jesus is aware of you posting blasphemes, you're in his hands bro... not mine. but keep believing your new age old age garbage, you'll do great in life that way

  • @FernAveEnt Jesus fucking christ women

  • @8footsativa actually, i'm a Christian and all... but i'm also a really big guy that would enjoy ripping your head off if you tried to say that to my face. i'm tired of ignorant people that DON'T have anything intelligent to say, so they go internet tough guy. but thank you for your irrelevancy and lame response... and don't forget to keep worshiping celebrities... dumb ass. btw... i dig Pantera... but Phil... GIANT duesche bag... have fun with that one 8 foot nothing

  • @FernAveEnt silly christian, fairy tales are for kidz

  • @chrispollock and what are you, a know-everything rebellious hating everything you see jaggoff? dude, enough everyone with your shots at Christianity, let me extend my bible holding hand, and give all of you the one digit salute. I might be Christian, but that doesn't mean i couldn't woop your ass if you got silly in my face. like i said, go ahead, keep worshipping drug riddled, self-absorbed rock stars like this guy, who hasn't had a decent song SINCE he left pantera anyway, jack ass

  • @FernAveEnt i don't worship druggies. oh and how very peace loving of you, i forgot the part in the new testament where jesus says "when someone strikes you, kick the shit out of them". if you're so secure in your faith, violence against others for making fun of your faith shouldn't even be a consideration

  • Comment removed

  • @FernAveEnt Jesus died centuries ago, whats there to find.

  • @8footsativa sorry you feel that way

  • @FernAveEnt Death to god

  • @VirtualWrestling ok... don't forget to watch wrastlin, drink some coors light, and stay jethro... i could just imagine you in you shirt w/ a stain, teeth w/ stains, and no woman in your life...

  • @FernAveEnt I love eating my dad's cock

  • I would have never thought Rex was the biggest drinker in the band. I thought Dime had that honor.

Rex can never drink again. Not a drop. When he is an 80 year old man he wont be able to sip whiskey while he watches tv or play cards. Cant even have a beer at a social event, such as a wedding.

Folks, the lesson here in part 5 is to space out your drinking over a period of time. Dont do it all at once. Kill your liver over a period of time.

    Your welcome

    4/4/10

  • Sad...

  • Young flannel

  • phill is bad ass im glad he got clean and didn't die but i still wish pantera was still together and dime wasn't taken from us....CFH FOREVER long live PANTERA

  • he does like the sound of his voice but it is a good job most of it makes sense

  • rex was actully almost 44 at this time

  • maybe next time u see phil u can tell him this little mistake and cast his whole speech aside :-)

  • But he fucking awesome

  • i feel guilty when he says how the show intervention is entertaining i feel bad how i can get entertainment from watching these people being crippled in fact i feel sick to my stomach now

  • It is for entertainment.

    That's why it's on Tv...

  • I've watched that show many times. I don't find my self entertained but amazed and educated! Amazed at how some people can sink so low in their lives and educated by seeing what could quite possibley happen to me if I were hooked! I don't think you're entertained so much as you are shocked at what can happen to a broken person! Think of it that way.

  • Reminds me of the Tool song Vicarious

  • nervousness?? ask him yourself

  • Phil rules!

  • 2:26......Phil's right. theres an old song about that. >lyrics:"Hats off to the stranger for tellin me what he knows, lord i hear ya, an im walkin slow"!

  • Cool!

  • fuck yeah pantera knows how to drink .....anyone says anything else... they are stupid

  • brkdwnxx: I can't agree more!!! Seeing all these different celebrities fuck up their lives because of drugs is proof enough for me. Luckily, Phil is getting better and is trying to educate people about how bad drugs are. What I don't get is why so many people think that doing drugs is cool... but then again I'm not a "cool" person so I wouldn't understand anyways.

  • Thanks man :)

  • Who says there cool? Its what "you" think

  • well it is hard to talk about an addiction if you haven't been thru it, I am a recovering addict.......and i speak at schools and work with other addicts....please don't take this the wrong way.

  • that chick is hot!

  • hot? fucking hot !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like this! Phil rocks.

  • phils right. dimebag would have had problems if he continued drinking to this day. dime was a fuckin drinkoholic lol. God Rest his soul. he was one of the best guitarist that ever lived in MY opinion

  • he makes a great anti-drug campaign spokesperson...hes hardcore attitude is awesome..sure to make any junkie think twice after listening to him

  • totally man, like if schools or what ever it might be, want to have something where people are to listen to someone so they can stop or not do or get into bad habbits nd drugs etc, they should have a person like Phil or some who's been around the block a few times and someone who alot of people love and respect. So they will actually want to sit there and listen. I'll tell you right now, if this was some random fuck, id just walk right the fuck on to my bag a dope.

  • This interview is so insightful

  • Dimebag would've played his nasty riffs just as well with 'alcohol problems' as he did without them.

  • Comment removed

  • rip dime hey anselmo i wanna joi ur band i i diont care!

    \

  • 4:54 just like on dom/hollow on pantera's live album. "ANSWER ME! YOU HEAR THE FUCKING BASS?"

  • What should Phil be forgiven for? If it's true what he said, he was mis quoted in an interview about 'killing those boys'. And he sure as hell was not responsible for Dimebags death.

That was some freakshow who blamed Dimebage for Pantera's break up.

Phil was a victim of his addiction, he served his time, and I respect this man for cleaning up.

  • @sjcsiba i respect him to but he was the reason for the breakup, but not the death, spell dimebags name right

  • Thank you Mr. Anselmo.

  • Phil: It's a gift that you have such fucking experiences. Don't get me wrong, you know EXACTLY what I mean! Speak to people again and again!!!

  • He should speak at schools that would be so cool

  • It takes a real man to discuss his faults in life and to detour people not to make the devastating choice of drugs & alcohol addiction. I admire your courage.

  • What he's saying about the Pantera drinking is so true, Dimebag had a severe alcohol addiction - it would've caught up with him badly. Phil tells it like it is - and for that I greatly respect him

  • This makes me think: Vinnie should watch this...Phil changed. I bet he was sure he never make it out of this hell.

  • I know man, phil deserves to be forgiven. he's not a bad person, he was an addict. and now he's changed.

  • Can't name one dude I would like to meet before Mr Phil Anselmo....that would be so damn cool....interesting.

  • @AnselmoFanZero I'm sure he's already seen it, but you know that texas pride... :p

  • @TheSentinel92

60 fucking green thumbs......duuude. Thought most people hate Phil because they think it was his fault.....bullshit.

  • @AnselmoFanZero

Even with a changed Phil, I will always say that Vinnie should contact Phil when Vinnie wants. Trust me I'd die from a heart attack if they squashed the beef completely, but it's like getting clean. It only works when its for you. When Vinnie wants Phil around for him he will. So no, I disagree. Vinnie SHOULD NOT watch this, unless it's what he wants. We all miss Pantera, Dime, Phil, Rex, and Big Vin, but until Vinnie wants it lets just remember them in the glory days.

  • @MercyIsFatal

Memories are worth shit when you didnt see them live.

Someone has to show Vin that he changed...even Rita is "over it". If he is at Dimebash next year, I will be there and listen to Walk live...even if thats the last thing I do!

  • All my respect for phil !

  • I really wish they'd ofer phil a sponsorship to become a spokesman for opiate addiction, because hes so real, and not a douche bag about it.

  • THANK YOU PHIL!!!!

i wish to god i would have seen this before i got hooked.

    vicodin=heroin=methadone=death

  • Thanks so much for posting this.Awesome phil.

  • yes the crowd is verry afraid

  • lmao yeah dude he scared me just watchin the thing

  • Well he is in a university normaly people do stupid things there but besides doing a speech he's scolding some of them to be carefull. And he scares the shit outta me.

  • Navigate slowly a step at a time towards the law. Hell yeah man.

  • "You named it flannel" Phil totally scares that audience. : )

  • Thank you so much for posting all the parts to this interview. I was unable to meet Down on this current tour but finally saw them, and was purely amazed by finally seeing Phil in the flesh. This interview has continued to make my respect grow for him. I really hope to meet him someday.

  • By the way , the girl "interviewing" him is hot :D

    Respect for Phil !

  • PHIL IS AWESOOOME

  • She's not stuck up. She had breast cancer and put on benefit shows with local bands

  • he sure takes his time talking, as always...

but, contentwise, he shares good things. i read about him sobering up a zillion times, and always when i saw him live he looked worse and erratic and what not. now, he appears convincing. he goes all the way.

  • rex is 45, not 42 haha

  • your the fucking man phil. amazing interview.

  • Phil has re earned my respect. This is the most honest candid interview that I have seen him do. After viewing this, I'm sure Pantera would have reformed.

    Happy birthday Dime.

  • oh no doubt it would have happened eventually. fucking sucks that we will never get to hear what could have been

  • she at least probally at least gave him a hummer

  • it was tounge and cheek

  • i know that, im just saying that she probably had no idea who he was prior to this.

  • That chick interviewer isn't buying his story but by the look in her eyes she wants to rip his clothes off.

  • I've been sober 18 months now and I am glad Phil is sharing. Powerful stuff from a powerful dude.

  • I'm so glad Phil is coming out and talking about this. I honestly wonder what Dime's liver looked like. I just stick with the pot, medicinally...

  • fuckin awesome :D
