JJ is not known for having the greatest voice, though his studio recordings are fabulous. He is however one of the best songwriters I know, and there isnt one on his playlist that I dont like.he seems to have lost some of the joi de Vie that makes him such an influential player.he also has a strange melodic style which I personally love.

Cale is one of my favorite writer/guitarists. The Master of Mellow has had a profound influence on my music for a very long time. Now even my son and daughter listen to a lot of JJ. That's Leon Russell playing the Hammond, I believe. Christine Lakeland still performs with Cale. I saw them in Charlotte a few years ago and was disappointed at the young, unruly crowd that made it hard to hear Cale's material.

Not much, and someone can correct me on this, but I believe it came out first on JJs 1979 LP "5" and showed up again on Cale compilations "Special Edition" and "The Very Best...". Accompany vocals by Christine Lakeland. There's a good cover by swing-blues artist Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown on his "Long Way Home" LP.
