Along this streach of road, Team Cherry ws pinned between the thrusts of 3 German divisions. Team Cherry was sent out to 'move to contact' and discover where the German advance was coming. They Lost all. but slowed down the advance in several ways , well they made the Germans 'blink'. True they were destroyed, but the pause they caused allowed the 101st to begin to deploy along this same road
It's such a weird concept for me to try to imagine that places such as this which look so peaceful now were once a place of raging conflict.
Being from England, it's pretty hard for me to imagine I suppose. Maybe because I haven't grown up with such a heritage as people from these countries; although, there is the Battle of Britain to consider.
I am working on a book about the sacrifices made in front of bastogne, particularly by the 28th ID, team Cherry et al. I wish I could have panned the camera as "we" drove along -- thanks for a great vid
It's a head-mounted camera, so within the limits of safe riding I can do that for you - just let me know what specifics you would like to see. I can stop and take stills as well if that would be helpful. I ride this road several times a year, so it's no hardship to help if I can.

Thank you for this video. This is beautiful.
Its a real shame none of what happened here gets taught in the belgian commie schools of anti-American indoctrination. Its a crying shame.
