the video is ok until the end of it. It is fantastic to know the historical development of this celebration, but then the puritan christian moral comes and spoils it. Why can´t people stop evangelizing other people who just want to know the objective history of certain day???
@noelgod even more, almost 90% of anual celebrations, be civic or religious, have nothing to do with Christian ideas. And then you take a look at the Xtian´s beliefs and 75% have a pagan origin and the other 25% are a well told lie... So, you are against human´s social life!!!
If you believe this then you should also be against Christmas and Halloween. But, besides that, I have never met anyone, Christian or otherwise, opposed to Easter. And I'm going to go one step further, please do not censor, I want to know the reaction, and say I wish we could have the old celebration back, minus the human sacrifice. It was much more beautiful and meaning than the celebration we have today. How can a celebration of life not be beautiful? I believe Christianity ruined it.
Easter is a cute fantasy for children where rabbits carry and distribute eggs like a postman bringing your mail. Religion turns it into a complete absurdity about an invisible man in the sky who condemns man and woman with original sin because they ate his apples, he then secretly impregnating an unknown married woman with him as her child so that he can be born to kill myself as a sacrifice to him to save you from the sin he originally condemned you to. Grownups actually believe this shit!
Eostre's eggs did not replace anything Christian...She was the goddess of spring, representing new birth and fertility, thus the eggs (ovum).. Her totem animal was the hare, this is where the bunny rabbit originates. A hare is her totem because it too is noted for its fertile nature. Long before Christianity kidnapped her and locked her away, Eostre, along with many other nature goddesses...ruled not only Easter, but Christmas.
@JewlTonz Thank you! I was going to say the same thing, "Separation of Church and State" is not there. I hope people realize that this phrase appeared in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist church. The letter was not an "official government document" by ANY means! Jefferson wasn't involved in writing the 1st Amendment, and wasn't even in the United States at the time. The founders mixed church/state very often, and separating them like we see today was never intended.
I'm looking at it more like this: Christianity hijacked the Pagan celebration of Easter . . . just as Christianity hijacked the Pagan celebration of the rebirth of the Sun.
You mean Catholicism. Before the Catholic church got a hold of the Torah, the only thing the Jews celebrated at that time of year was Passover (which G_d commanded). The Catholic church was the one burning Christians at the stake. Remember Tisdale, and all the other men who were trying to write the Bible based off of the Geneva Bible. Most all killed by the Catholic church! "Christians" don't worship Mary, and pray to the dead.
You do realise that Ostara/Eostre doesn't "demean" anything, I hope. It's been around and still is around. It's far older than Easter itself, although the basic story of death and rebirth is a common thread.
@turgeo2004 As a born again you should know that god commands us to be clean in all manner of speach. Just fucking kidding. religion is bull. Not Christianity just religion. Most people mean well they're just being lied to.
yup, easter, like christmas, was a pagan holiday that christians tried, and keep trying, to usurp to promote their own religion. I'm sure somebody will probably dream up another religion to celebrate on those days after christianity has run its course also. People have a lot of free time.
I enjoy studying history. One thing I really like about studying history is that the more you study it, the more interesting it becomes. But not if you are hoping for a preferred outcome. That's when it gets ugly and confusing.

@pljanes Yes. While you are in Deuteronomy check out 32:39. God says He kills and He makes alive. If you cannot also make alive, you probably shouldn't be killing anyone. Mankind is not Godkind. Mankind is forbidden to make graven images, yet God instructed them to be made (Cherubim) for the ark of the covenant. You've got to learn your place in life.
@kvrockon What you are saying makes G-d out to be a hypocrite. The Cherubim were not graven images set up for idiolatry. But the important thing here is that Xtianity is idolatry, and a three person G-d is polytheism. Keep throwing the pagan stuff out and at the end you will arive at Judaism. Thanks for your excellent video.
@pljanes Thank you for your comment. The original Hebrew word translated as God in our english bibles is Elohim. The "im" suffix denote plurality as an "s", or "es" does in English. Problem is: It was "religious" people that translated the bible. That is, people with previous opinions. God is a family of mighty ones with a Supreme head known as the Father. "Let us make man in our image". (Gen. 1:26)
I need to make a correction .... earlier I said "Vernal Equinox", this is wrong. The Vernal Equinox is in September. Easter is the Spring Equinox (March).
(Part 2) .... Eggs & hares are sacred to Eostere, and other fertility Goddesses. Do you celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines, New Years, or Halloween? All of them are Pagan in origin. Do you say the names of the days of the week, and most months of the year? They are also Pagan. Every time you say, "Wednesday", you praise Woden. "Thursday" = Thor's day. Every time you say, "January", you praise Janus. Just making sure so that you are consistent. Would not want you being a hypocrite.
@mxylplitz1234 excellent!!!!! great info .......please share more with me.......and can you tell me how you ran into this info because i have heard of this concept but not fully explained like that and also for those that don't know, pegan just means not catholic (christian) in orgin...so any thing out side of the bible is considered catholic.
@hacktik101 PART 1 -The word pagan is Latin (paganus) meaning "country dweller, rustic". In use, it refers to all non-Abrahamic religious traditions. The word catholic merely means "universal." Check a good dictionary. One can actually buy a catholic (universal) muffler clamp. Nearly all of the traditions of the great Universal Church are adopted from paganism.
@hacktik101@hacktik101 -Start by looking up the traditional holidays in any good encyclopedia. Do a web search for: Associates for Scriptural Knowledge, also Non-biblical Holidays. Good luck.
@mxylplitz1234 No, I do not celebrate Christmas, Valentine's Day, New Years, or Halloween. And yes, the names of the days of the week are pagan in origin. But I not praising any god when I say them just as you did not praise Janus when you typed January in your comment.
@kvrockon I need to make a correction .... earlier I said "Vernal Equinox", this is wrong. The Vernal Equinox is in September. Easter is the Spring Equinox (March)... Also, yes, everytime you say the days of the week or months of the year, you are praising those Gods and Goddesses. In many Pagan traditions, simply calling the name of the deity is giving praise. For example, Vishnavais praise God by chanting his holy names - Krishna, Hare, Rama. Paganism is, thankfully, a part of everything.
The only thingg correct in this video is that Easter is a Pagan Holy day. Originally it was celebrated around the vernal equinox. After it was "christianized" it was changed to happen on the first Sunday, after the first full moon, after the Vernal eqinox (a very Pagan way of doing things). Pagans today still celebate it around the equinox. As for the nam "Easter", it comes from the Goddess "Eostere", not Astarte. Indeed, it is a fertility festival. ........(Part 1)
easter is the birthday of nimrods mother/wife..nimrod the greatgrandson of noah and grandson of ham killed his father cush and married his mother who became preganant with his child. fearing the people of babylon would lose respect in him they proclaimed that the baby was given to her by the holy spirit (this was about 300 years before yeshua ben yosef who most call jesus) the rabit symbolisis a high sex drive and the egg symbolisis birth without a male agent .
@kvrockon can you tell me what you know or understand about this cause im interested in all concepts and i like to hear or read how others feel on many topics....
@hacktik101 WOW, you have been reading wayyyyyy to many Chick tracts. Easter as a Holy day came way before Nimrod, christ, or any of your other myths. Easter is not the birthday of Nimrod's mother/wife for several reasons. One main one is that Easter is derived from the Goddess Eostere. The second reason is that the date for Easter, then as now, changes yearly and the original day of celebration was centered on the equinox - which ALSO changes yearly.
Unfortunately my father and I had a huge arguement about this a couple of days ago. He is a Baptist minister and kept trying to persuade me as to why it was okay to celebrate it. He kept saying the egg represents life and Christ resurrected and came back to life so that is why we celebrate it. However he couldn't explain the rabbit, why we say Happy Easter, why you won't find it being celebrated in such a way in the Bible by Christians during that time.
@MsKnowledgeSeeker1 To argue with one's father or mother truly is unfortunate. Somewhere deep inside it hurts. Knowing certain truths ahead of others fosters disagreements between people. Continued on next post.....

Yes, true, Easter is not allowed by laws of Christianity, but think of it the other way. So if we don't allow ourselves a celebration of Rabbits and Eggs because of their nature, why not use the Cow and Milk? Oh wait, no, Milk is the symbol of a Jewish Festival and the Cow is the symbol of India.
Only because you are one religion, doesn't mean you can't celebrate holidays who come naturally from others :)
@zsupersaiyan Actually, I agree. One can celebrate holidays (holy days) that come naturally from others (intended for the god they recognize and worship). They just cannot do such a thing knowingly, while recognizing and worshiping the God of the Bible, whether they are Jewish or Christian...... without being in error.
kvrockon, you're dead on target. The protesting daughters of the great harlot of Revelation are none other than the protestant churches. The true worshipers of the Living GOD are called out of BABYLON which has historically existed as the model of all Pagan civilization (including Babylonian Judaism) and the mysteries of the Kabalah (the corruption of Solomon). The same entity described in detail in the BOOK of ISAIAH, Chapter 47 is also that MYSTERY described in the Book of Revelation.
As for those who believe that nation-states are not the dominant religions of our times, like just because the nation-states propagandize such, are also deceived idolaters, God bless them. The states deserve your worship just as much as any other object of worship, which are NOT Holy, but neither are they "evil." They are merely sanctified by our own worship, but no tradition and no ritual is truly holy. Why do you allow your kids to go to public school anyway, Ken?

that this video has so little respect for religious tradition and so much pride/vanity.
As for "the truth of christ's death and resurrection," let me note that the traditional references to resurrection are once again pre-christian as in "pagan." I think of the online search keywords "pharmacratic inquisition" and astrotheology. Consider that denominationalism and sectarianism are anti-catholic and anti-christian and anti-human, and heresy to all mainstream fundamentalists.
@144jr144 "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition". Mark 7: 7-9
So one myth relaced by another myth..If there is a God woudnt he recognize the goodness in your heart as your intent was to serve his purpose? Or must you as a human being ,who is already asked to believe in the unbelievable in order for your soul to not perish, also be expected to know all these things or else it didnt matter what your intent was....ooops you were wrong now go burn..I claim Baulderdash!!
so what ur saying is that we've been blinded to the real holiday of jesus christ of his death and ressurection? so they ADD EASTER BUNNIES AND EGGS to make us worshipd "other" gods and not the MOST HIGH? so just only celebrate jesus christ death and ressurection? cause this is making sense
We should celebrate the Feasts of the Lord in Leviticus 23. If you belong to the Lord, these are OUR Feasts to celebrate just as He did. The are His Feasts, lets give Him thanks, praise and worship on His days! Amen!!!
There is a lot of truth in that. However, it's even more than that: The Protestant churches perpetuate the same thing, having come out of the great Universal church (Catholic) in protest to her authority (hence; protestants). Both are spoken of in Revelation 17:5 The "mother" and the "daughters".
You are absolutely right. Especially ones like Deuteronomy 12:30
"Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Dictionary definition of the word easter: "ORIGIN Old English ēastre; of Germanic origin and related to German Ostern and east . According to Bede the word is derived from Ēastre, the name of a goddess associated with spring."
True, paganized churches do celebrate it; and they didn't stop in 1850.
I don't even celebrate because of these origins. God says worship in spirit and truth. So I don't live a lie. Jesus never said to do the things such as with the pagan holidays. he would be outraged. Moses was outraged at the golden calf.
I enjoyed your video and found it to be very informative. However you did make one mistake in stating that seperation of church and state is in the constitution. It is not. I used to believe this also until I listened to a sermon by the late Dr D James Kennedy. It refers to a letter by Thomas Jefferson in regards to the danbury baptist about church and state. You should investigate this yourself as many people still believe seperation of church and state is in the constitution.

They are merely sanctified by our own worship, but no tradition and no ritual is truly holy. Why do you allow your kids to go to public school anyway, Ken?

sad, but funny...
that this video has so little respect for religious tradition and so much pride/vanity.

Crap. I was hoping to see great hordes of bunnies running along the beach in time to the great music of "Chariots of Fire".
Instead, I get to read teeny, tiny letters with a bunch of bible nonsense.

We should celebrate the Feasts of the Lord in Leviticus 23. If you belong to the Lord, these are OUR Feasts to celebrate just as He did. The are His Feasts, lets give Him thanks, praise and worship on His days! Amen!!!

God said in Hosea 3:6 "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge" so thank you so much for spreading this truth.

All christians celebrated Easter until 1850. Easter is a christian word not Pagan. Check out my videos.

Thanks for having the courage REALLY live by the word and not be a hearer only.

Excellent!!! You did a great job researching the origins of the pagan festival Easter. My family will no longer be celebrating this holiday.
