i really like this piece, played it for my grade 8. post the 9/8 part if u can. and focus more on just letting the notes flow, it's marked ad libitum so make it your own. sounds great, enjoy!
a giant clarinet??????????? please for the sake of all oboists, google oboe. it is NOT a giant clarinet. in fact it's slightly smaller than a clarinet.
sorry, it's just something that really annoys me when people ask. :)
clarinet is wayy better though!! lol. Well it all depends on which you like best. I prefer the clarinet because i've played it for so long. it's awesome!!! =]
I'm concerned because the reed could be so advanced for the age level that it could actually hinder progress. The amount of support you need for such a rich reed almost needs to be worked upto. But it sounds just fine! Where's the rest of the piece!? haha
Don't you always need to use a good amount of support, bad or good reed? Also, the tone is rich not only because of the reed! How can a good reed hinder progress?
good job....be careful when you exhale...i know...bein an oboe player sucks...we're one of the only ones that has to do that but...ya...every one else has been buggin you about that so i think you get it.
:o I wish I could play oboe.... I play flute >_> Doesn't it hurt your head when you hold longtones, though? Though your tone is very nice and wonderful vibrato :D
I have the exact same problem with vocalizing my leftover air! Though, I've only been playing for about one and a half years.
Love this piece, though, and your tone is just so drop dead gorgeous! Great vibrato, too. I like your style because it's very consistent. It's not pretty sound, pretty sound, BLAT, pretty sound, pretty sound, EW. All around, awesome.
I can tell you're pushing with the air hard; just be careful of vocalizing when you exhale your leftover air. It's hard when you start getting tired I know, but sometimes it sounds like, "Pretty tone... pretty tone... UGH!... pretty tone pretty tone... UGH... etc." Good job though otherwise.
