Me and some friends went to a Scientology Center in Orlando just for fun. They showed us this video. It wasn't fun anymore, I was horrified, but I did laugh hysterically at the "Blow your brains out line". But still really creepy place.
@Stewbid11 Yeah, these people aren't any less crazy than Christians, Muslims or Mormons. They all have idiotic, unprovable doctrines written by madmen.
@JessicaSideways The diffrence is that Religions do not infringe on parishoners basic human rights and freedoms. Only a CULT would keep people against their will, demand ALL of their $,have a jail for those who fail to smile or dare question, use hypnosis to trick people, claim to cure all illnesses w out need of doctors, have a 'fair game' and 'disconnection' policy, force abortions, make members from early childhood slave away for no pay, LIE purposely, have an army and navy, etc.etc..
@Stewbid11 Well, the Christian church definitely demands money from it's adherents, many claim to cure illnesses without the need of doctors (faith healing), use forms of hypnosis and mind control (chanting, singing, speaking in tongues, fasting...), lies purposely, some even form their own militias.
And the rest of those things you addressed that Christianity doesn't do now, it has done in the past.
@JessicaSideways Let's begin from the end of your statement and work backwards just for kicks! In the past, as in THE 15 TH CENTURY? Yeah the law as we know it was not present then. Somethinh happened around,...idk, 1776? Secondly, there is no current militia formed or being formed by any Christian Church. Next, purposeful lies... Well there are always extremeists ans cons, however as far as the actual values, EVER HEAR OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS? Thou shall not LIE? A CHRISTIAN value..NEXT! cont...
1. And when the laws reign Scientology in, it'll be just as benign as Christianity is.
2. The 10 commandments also say don't kill but read further and then, the Bible talks about the multitudes that the Christian God commanded his followers to kill.
3. So you don't consider the Army of God to be a militia? Or the Ku Klux Klan?
@JessicaSideways 1.When the law cathes up w/ Scientology it will cease to exist. 2.You have it backwards, the killing was in the OLD testament, commandments in the NEW. 3. The army of God is a spiritual idea, not a physical ARMY..The KKK is definately a militia. They are not Christian. Just a sad dying group similar to Scientology,
1. I wish I could be as optimistic as you are on that. However, religions seem to have a way of shirking the law.
2. And yet, so were the 10 Commandments. Are you saying they aren't valid either? How about the Psalms, should we do away with those too?
3. No, there is an actual group that calls itself "the Army of God". And the KKK is Christian, it's fundamental tenets are based on "Christian Identity".
@JessicaSideways Religions may shirk the law once in a while. Cults are either above the law or finally crushed by it. What maked you say I believe the 10 commandments are not valid? They seem to me to be at the heart of Christianity. I will research this "Army of God." Please send me any available links you have. I do not see how the KKK is based on Christianity. C'mon, at least Christians can have a real conversation with unbelievers without going to an RPF!
@Stewbid11 1) Are you kidding me? Religions make a living off of shirking the law!
2) You said the killings weren't valid because they were in the old testament, so I assumed you would think the 10 Commandments weren't valid because they're in there too.
3) Christians never really have a real conversation with non-believers because they are unwilling to see the possibility that they could be wrong. Internal thought policing.
@JessicaSideways I'm wondering now if you're for or against Scientology? Or are you against all religion? I'm not so into organized religion myself. I am however a spiritual person. I find beauty and wisdom in most religions. I do NOT find ANY value in Scientology.
@Stewbid11 I'm against Scientology, I see the abuses that I see in Christianity and Islam inside of Scientology. I am against religions that preach exclusivism and brainwash people. I am against religions that keep their followers from having an open mind.
I can, however, see value in religions like Buddhism where it doesn't matter whether you believe or not.
@JessicaSideways Specificly what abuses are you seeing in said religions that even come close to those of the cult? I specificly named those of Scientology. People are being held against their will NOW in the U.S.A. due to such 'religious' crimes as not smiling, asking questions, giving information to outsiders etc... I also appreciate Buddhism greatly.
@Stewbid11 Well, inciting hate crimes against homosexuals, oppressing other religions, spreading lies about minority religions (like Wicca) in order to make their own religion look superior, passing laws to bring our country's legal system more in line with the Bible.
In addition, gay minors who are unlucky enough to be born in a Christian household can expect to be beaten, raped, sent to ex-gay camps, kicked out of the house, disowned...
@JessicaSideways I'm trying to understand where this is coming from. IMO The singe greatest cause of Athieism in the world today is when Christians acknowledge God with their lips, then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieveing world simply finds unbelievable.(quote from D.C.Talk). All humans are fallable. I guess to me God is an idea of perfect, unconditional love, and peace.
@Stewbid11 I guess the abuse against gay people is one of the primary reasons for my assault on Christianity - because I feel that gay kids don't need this crap and being a transsexual woman, I've experienced this form of oppression myself.
@JessicaSideways I'm so sorry that anything like that happened to you. I realize that there are some extremist groups related to any religion. I KNOW that there are Christian churches that practice love and acceotance. Any religion can be twisted and misused but what I'm trying to say is that Scientology has NO good side! Anyway, at least you got away from whatever evil church mistreated you. You seem stronger for it? I don't believe that ANY religion has the right to mistreat anyone.
@JessicaSideways As far as medical help being sought from REAL doctors, the extremists who claim it isn't needed are laughed at by the Christian majority.Chanting/singing are not done repetitively so as to actually keep parishoners alert. Fasting is dont by oneself for purification purposes so What would be controlling the person's mind then? Lastly, Christian churches DO NOT EVER demand $ for services! Everything is free and donations are ALWAYS optional. Religions r imperfect/cults r evil!
@JessicaSideways As I mentioned previously those are NOT mainstream Christianity. Even they are held accountable legally when their children suffer from medical neglect. The biggest diffrence I see between religion and cultism is that in religion free thought is acceptable. It may be debated, but that is used to help religions grow and change with the times. Cults are rigid. They do not allow questioning. I've never heard of anyone being harassed or blackmailed after leaving a Christian church!
@Stewbid11 Are you kidding me? Parents have gotten away scot free for medical neglect when they are Christian Scientists!
In religion, free thought is not acceptable. They regularly encourage people to close their minds and vilify anything that isn't their own religion - including atheism.
And I've heard of families disconnecting from members who leave the Christian cult.
yes john we know, but if you'd given jet a chance at life, he'd still be here with you, so did scientology help you in your darkest hour, or did it hinder you, hmmmm
well around 5:10 is definitely appalling, but how pathetic that religion has been threatening with far worse for thousands of years (Eternity in hell, anyone?)
Okay so for anyone just coming in on this 4 part series, here it is in a nutshell: "BUY OUR CRAP OR YOU WILL DIE- WE DON'T CARE, GO FUCKING KILL YOURSELF AND JUMP OFF A BRIDGE."
I was expecting an IRS employee or judge to give testimony: "Scientology helped me to make sure that they're recognized as a religion so that they don't have to pay any taxes" :-)
.....the first thing you must do is BUY OUR CRAP. OUR ENTIRE LIE IS PROPPED UP BY THE MONEY OF DUPES LIKE YOU SO PLEASE SEND CASH.....WE PROMISE TO LIE TO YOU AN USE YOU FOR OUR OWN FOUL PURPOSES..... -the church of scientology.
5:11 is the creepiest footage I have ever seen on video. "If you leave this room after seeing this video AND NEVER MENTION SCIENTOLOGY AGAIN YOU ARE FREE TO DO SO. It would be stupid, but you can do it. YOU COULD ALSO DIVE OFF A CLIFF OR BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT.
Wow. That is by far the worst thing you could say to a person who is looking for some kind of emotional support. This is brainwashing propaganda. Obviously, they don;t want you saying anything about scientology.
I saw this very same orientation video when I took the "tour" at a local Scientology Church. I went there as a joke okay lol. Anyways, the room they showed this in was really small, dark and uncomfortably hot and there was also this crappy little fan sitting in the room that wasnt putting a dent in the heat at all. I learned later on that another person in an entirely different country also had this exact same experience. They really do play mind games
What kinda shit is that? "What's true is what is true for you" Wdf? Sounds like a nutjob phrase. "It would be stupid, but you can do it. You can also dive off a bridge or blow your brains out. That is your choice." Man...what the fuuuuck. This is some mindfucking mindraping shit.
He says the success rate is %99. I wonder what happened to the other %1....."You are an immortal being"? "If you cooperate, we can make you more cheerful"? And if you pay attention to this quote "If you this minute say, 'I will for better of for worse go on in scientology' you will open the door to your own future.
