Generations in Matthew 24:34 refers to the time from Jesus' prediction of the destruction of the temple until that temple was destroyed. 30 Jesus made the prediction 70 Ad the temple was destroyed. Not sure if the generation refers future but it certainly was fulfilled in the past.

I agree; Jesus was talking about the fig tree, representing Israel, and with the budding of the leaves, along with the prophecy about "can a nation be born in an hour?" coming true, THAT was the beginning of the "this generation" that Jesus was talking about. All of the prophecies center around Israel, so we cannot subtract Israel out of any equation that the Bible gives us to work with.
