@TheMeekgurl That's just too risky. Demons are not exactly dumb creatures. Grenades don't go off immediately, as seen here, so they could have just rushed forward and killed the two anyway. When the man and woman had the grenades secured around them, there was a sure fire way of killing the demons. Case and point.

Also Jada's character was meant to be alone in the end, having her guardian and the officer alive, or alive longer than they were, would take away from the film.
