Our form in the second half of the season was good. Not promotion standard but certainly enough for a mid table finish if we'd started the season like that.
My mum got pissed of when Hessy quit as manager cos she would always shout out "Norman" everytime he went to take a throw in or corner near her hehe (* She joked that he reminded her of Norman Wisdom lol)
Does anyone remember that aftermath of the cardiff home game that season? Stan Ternant had a right go at a fellow gills fan close to where i was in the gordan road stand over about signing autographs i think can anyone clear that up?
When you look at the team we had and the run we went on in the 2nd half on the season, we were so unlucky to go down. Some great results in there tho, Leeds & Sunderland away, good points. Even that season we still had that old Gills fight in us. Still, League Poo campaign is upon us now, onwards & Upwards. GFC.
Poor game near the end against Crewe didn't help. But ultimately, Crewe got their first win in something like 16 games in the very last game of the season, just as Eugene Bopp pokes one just over the reach of midget Jason Brown to relegate us by a goal difference of 1. Quite unlucky indeed. And I wish I shared your optimism about us now.
