Hmm, yes, and the US Army is doing brilliantly well in Iraq. Now thats no slight against soldiers in the US Armed Forces, but its a large scale conventional army and therefore not suited for the combat you're speaking of. As well, because the US has generally poor relations around the world, they can not possibly gain the support of local citizens necessary to win a guerilla style war. You can't win these wars with predator drones and smart bombs.

It was Powell who made the most eloquent and vocal argument for moving the war on terror to Iraq. He worked for five Republican Presidents who promoted him, gave him power and prestige. Now he turns his back on everything he ever stood for in his public life by and private life by supporting Obama. Why would anyone trust his judgment now? I sure don't. Is this a race thing or has he really radically changed everything he believed in?

It's very easy to pick a handful of issues out of hundreds to support your assumption. There are a lot of changes to the system Obama is supportive of. Try going to his web site. You can do the same with McCain then compare them. You also have to take the change in Congress into considertion since it is them that passes any legislation before sending it to the President. So there are many factors in play to exactly what changes take place. This country is changing by the day. So will policies.

Unfortiantly I looked at both websites and there voting records at a site called.. On The Issues. I do not like that Obama promised to repeal the Patriot Act and did the opposite, banning guns, voted for Illegal Imigrents to have Social Security. Totally Ignores the constitution and hes not for a simpler easier tax system were your only taxed once. I wont even mention redistrubtion of wealth.

This interview misses the point of Obama's statement that HE, AS PRESIDENT would meet with them. Powell said in other interviews and panels that the President should meet with them without the precondition of Sec/State having met with them first.

Gen. Powell thusfar has made only one campaign contribution. While he could have done so privately, he chose instead to do so in tandem with a press release: To John McCain for the maximum allowable amount...They are "longtime, good friends." He is also still known to be good friends with Gen. Schwarzcopf, who also endorsed McCain, as did Powell's own son. It is unlikely that any Obama endorsement is forthcoming...perhaps a trump card announcement of a McCain running mate is in the works.
