Dude, chill out. The Vatican was in charge for awhile in a deep, dark, murderous, conspiratorial way. Then Henry VIII got a divorce. They have no army, and no political leader actually takes them seriously. If they did, then world governments would have much better environmental protection laws a la Pope John Paul II. The only thing the church controls now is rubber consumption and disease management in parts of the global south.

It's ridiculous to say that the fact that Chomsky works at MIT means he's not "on the up and up" He has addressed this accusation himself very eloquently. He knows very well the forces at work in MIT. He's just wisely taking advantage of his situation to further the cause of freedom and informing people

He would not be working at MIT for over 4 decades if he were on the up and up.
He has also taught at Stony Brook, a Jesuit stronghold intimately tied to Broohaven Labs and Grumman Aircraft.
He's a gate keeper. He never mentions the central role of the Vatican. He makes it out as though the US is the major player. It's not. The Fed is based in London.
His work on linguistics served as a basis of neuro-linguistic programming.
