  • It wouldn't be that bad if it had a side folding stock and the original long barrel.

  • probally inacurate as hell with that short as barrel the 7.62X54 was never designed for a barrel that small

  • @Saiga71 You would be surprised

  • It even comes with a tactical FLASHlight! :D

  • How comfortable?

  • is this considered a "SBR"?

  • @BulldzrWV Nope, the muzzle break is welded on so its long enough.

  • @BulldzrWV No, it's still within the ATF legal requirements ( 16' bbl - 26" oal folded ) so it's not considered an SBR

  • That sound.

  • Where can I get a muzzle break like that?

  • @KironStrife McMaster Carr tooling, steel, and Bridgeport mill.

  • Damn! look at that muzzle flash! freakin' awesome!

  • Fugly-BOOMstick!

  • what length barrel is that

  • @GUNNY89 I think he mentioned in an earlier video it is 16 in.

  • float like a rock, sting like a 7.62 x 54R

  • Though this is one of the most uglyest rifles I've ever seen, This the most beautiful gunsound there is

  • I don't know a lot about guns... But I wanna ask, is it normal that the bolt looks pretty hard to cycle ? isnt it supposed to be smooth and easy to cycle ?

  • @khaliddrb1 Mosin Nagants aren't very easy to cycle, your mileage may vary. I've heard people saying you need a 2x4 to cycle is properly.

  • That thing sounds simply fantastic

  • rifle sounds like a .50 cal from the video haha

  • i hate it when people hold guns wrong

  • @loocow1554 nobody held the gun wrong?

  • @paintch3ck the kid did he is leaning back not forwards

  • @loocow1554 dude chill out... do you see how long the stock is for his arms? and how much recoil a mosin-nagant has? probably not because they dont teach that on call of duty..

  • @paintch3ck i know that but he is still holding the gun wrong just saying

  • @paintch3ck lol i have the M44 carbine and let have lots of kick but its managable lol but i agree wit ur comment

  • @AmericanMuscle2012 oh yeah they are very managable. but it would be difficult for a kid. lol but i love my mosin and you can shoot them all day for under $50

  • those things are monsterously loud without hearing protection..

  • how did you get the pistol grip to stay on and what kind of grip is it?

  • FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • They should add the extended box magazine that holds ten rounds.

  • Sweet Nagant! Ya'll did a great job!

  • how did you add that tac stock??

  • Jeez!! I'll bet your ears were ringing at1:07

  • Okay, I usually consider myself a purist, but that's actually pretty motherfucking cool.

  • I LIKE THAT SOUND

  • I want one. Plus I think it's cool looking and not fugly at all.

  • Can you still hit targets with a barrel that short?

  • How did it group?

  • what a destroyed piece of history :'(

i am not sayin that you destroyed it cause i dont know

  • @Sn1p3rsh0t2012 Chill your dill, it's not like they're hard to come by.

  • @Sn1p3rsh0t2012 yeah there are million of them

  • Thunder GUN XD

  • How is the recoil compared to a typical Mosin ?

And damn, it sounds like a thunder storm !

  • @spystyle on a barrel that short it would be decent, i fired my regular mosin (31 inch barrel), it jerks but the recoil is fine if you dont fire it with a limp shoulder. then i fired my brother's m48 carbine mosin, it was rougher yet. so i suspect on a barrel that short it would kick pretty good. maybe thats just me, i've probably been firing my brother's .340 weatherby magnum too much anyways.

  • Can you please please please tell me the scope and mount you're using, and where to buy it? :O

  • this is by far the coolest mosin-nagaint ive ever seen.

i really think you should make a how-to for this gun to show the steps needed to make one of these.

  • Fugly = Fucking Ugly

  • Thanks for posting and sharing your great creation and what a great name for it too. What kind of accuracy did you get with the set up and also what type of muzzle break did you use? Looks great and sounds really good. You redefine the meaning of a tactical weapon or a blast from the past.

  • Holy FIREBALLS! Personally speaking, I would have done away with the scout scope setup, and put a Rock Solid mount on it. Still bad ass. Screw what people say about ruining a piece of history blah blah blah! If I had that baby as my rifle back in 1932 and then seen it turn into this, I would be ecstatic!!

  • Dude I don't care what it looks like - it still shoots like a Mosin - which is smooth!

  • Sounds better than it looks.

  • God it really is fugly

  • boltface to muzzle?

  • holy balls that thing sounds loud!

  • that is awesome mosin lolz

  • really cool...looks even better at a distance...

  • Now that I've gathered myself together...( =

How did it shoot group wise and any chance of running it over a chrono to see what kind of velocity it's getting? I'm just now finishing sporterizing my Finnish Octagonal and now I'm going to make one of these! That thing is insane!

  • I just wet myself.....

  • love what u done to a classic

  • GOOOOD DAAAAAAMNN!

    Great vid!

  • zombie gun right there

  • loud ass gun

  • all it needs is a bent bolt and you are done

  • One of those Ace Folding Stocks would have made it even more tacticool

  • Moto Boner Dude!!!

  • sweet dude !! I love my 1931 hex mosin !! WAs it still as accurate witth those mods?

  • i think its added awesomeness that every shot sounds absoloutly perfect and almost movie like.

  • damn no wonder this thing was called the poler bear

  • abomination lol, still pretty cool not enough barrel for all of the powder to burn though

  • i love that gun

  • what an ABOMINATON

  • I love that you did this:)

  • And I thought an M44 was loud...

  • what would a wwII red sniper say about it?...we must find one if they aren't extinct

  • that's badass!

  • i have a scope like that on my mosin they are great, but this mule kicking rifle needs a good pair of scope rings like the ones installed on "Fugly"

  • i would try and modernize a Mosin Nagant.. they are very Acurate and they are awesome.. i have me one of these.. im trying to find someone to make a wooden stock for it, but with a pistol grip made from the wooden stock.. that would be nice.

  • thats pretty cool i aint gonna lie.. but still like the mosin nagant "original variant" hahaha, i wanted to ask what the muzzle break does exactly?

  • So is this just a normal long nagant that you cut down and add a muzzle break? very cool mate

  • how do you get a clear sight picture?

  • @madabits

Not sure if someone has already replied to you, but it uses what's called a LER scope, or long eye relief. Same type of scopes used on pistols and scout rifles.

  • @madabits its a scout scope with long eye relief

  • @madabits its a scout pistol scope long eye relief

  • @madabits long eye relief scope like a pistol scope

  • @What do you mean? If you're talking about the eye relief, Its probably a Pistol scope :)

  • @madabits by looking through the scope...

also, that must've been loud as HEEEELLLL with the muzzle brake and no ear protection.

  • @madabits prettty sure he's using a pistol scope, that has a long eye relief.

  • @madabits handgun scope with unlimited eye relief probably

  • Really enjoyed this video. I love shooting my own Mosin. I may have to get another to customize. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • That brake is AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Its a 90 Dollar gun and there are millions of them out there. Who gives a shit what they did with it. Hell The only thing its missing is an M203.

  • how loud is that thing? i can see why you need a muzzle break

  • how did this gun group? im not expecting excellent from the short barrel.

  • i really like that gun

  • @IamSamuelK you need to die

  • I don't know what I would ever use "fugly" for, but I'm sure I could find a use. What was the motivation behind "fugly" ? I'm just curious haha.

  • @EHSPP16 fucking ugly

  • @TheGuyWithAWeirdName I understand the name, but the motivation behind building such a strange little rifle.

  • What kind of muzzle brake?

  • I WANT A FUGLY

  • The only thing fugly here is the shooter's bolt operation.. Cool Mosin though.

  • That was absolutely SICK!

  • Lol, tacticool fags.

  • OOOH!!!! I am a fan!!!!!!

  • I'm going to have to make one of those. You should put a kit together.

  • that sound pretty loud for a mosin

  • @omgiTsmeJon Mosins are some of the loudest rifles.

  • I'D TOTALLY BUY ONE OF THOSE!

  • That couldn't have felt good on the ol' ears.

  • I told the gunsmith i wanted to chop down my barrel to 18". He convinced me to cut it down to 22" inches instead....I regret that I didn't push for the 18". He said the hot gas will travel reward at an angle enough to effect the shooter.

  • @MavHunter20XX i believe the mosin carbines have 20 inch barrels. How did the gunsmith know? Does he usually cut down mosins?

  • @rmatey18 I don't know...but he seems to know a whole lot that I give him credit for. I even asked for 20", he still recommended 22". I'm happy w/ it now, but if I want to put a can on it, it'll make it that much longer.

  • I told the gunsmith i wanted to chop down my barrel to 18". He convinced me to cut it down to 22" inches instead....I regret that I didn't push for the 18".

  • What kind of scope is that!

  • talking about a fucking fire breathing dragon, that muzzle flash is ridiculous, lol.

  • What caliber is that?

  • @MovieMaker225 7.62x54R

  • Is that a Nato round?

  • @MovieMaker225 I don't believe so... Soviet Bloc round... the 7.62x51 is a NATO round however...

  • that muzzle flash is almost biblical!

  • I had an idea a while back; Build an UNDERFOLDER Mosin. That way you can shorten it and have the worlds first room clearing gun that is BOLT ACTION. Can you make me one? Your gun looks nice and ugly, just like most of us. Truly, you think alot like me. That barrel work looks Mean, second to none.I hope you post another video with some close ups..........of the gun! From............ Colonel Krink

  • @THE1212HURRICANE If you want a bolt-action for home-defense (or just one to modify for giggles), look for a JC Higgins / Sears bolt-action shotgun. I've got a JC Higgins 583.16 that I've fixed up, trimmed down, and smoothed out so that it makes a pretty decent zombie-blaster, and I've got less than $100 total in the whole setup. Got a couple vids of it on my channel. Modding a 91/30 like this would be fun, but it'd be pretty terrible for home defense - overpenetration and muzzle-flash city!

  • Too much weight on the front. Still nice muzzle brake.

  • I <3 my mosin..

  • I named my Mosin Nagant Ol' Painless. lmao (Off of a game called Fallout)

  • That's a beautiful sound.

  • ok...coolest gun ive seen in a long time.

  • hehe... the muzzle blast on that beast! And no, I don't mean the pretty flame, I mean the BLAST. The kind that makes your vision blur for a second and your clothing moves, lol.

  • It isn't really tactical... It doesn't have a forward vertical grip and light/laser combo.

  • the sound is beastly

  • "fugly" is fukn awesome...

  • thank you for making me hard

  • that would make one hell of a truck or ranch rifle

  • I like it!

  • gordinho + oculos = nerd

  • What sight/scoop is this on the rifle?

I have a 91/30, and I try to find a red dot or some other sight on the budget that can handle the recoil. I tried Millett red dot but didn't hold zero. :(

    Thanks!

  • would make a nice hog/ bear whatever gun.

  • Most rifles have that, just easier to see it @ dusk & other low light conditions. like they are shooting in.

  • schilts2- if i remember correctly Simo always shot from 100meters or less. He probably waited until they were looking away from him, probably had lots of close calls.

  • looks like she shoot's great, the fireball off that thing is MASSIVE, I wonder what it would be like to build this with a battlecomp installed , might take away some of the flash but I guarantee recoil would be worse,

A Levang linear comp would give equal recoil management to what's on there but the fireball would be even bigger .

I really want to build one of these now..

  • nah. those guns dont typically have much recoil in the first place, but they're loud as hell. they have long barrels (not this one, obviously), but they never seem to be long enough to use all the gas spent from the shell, and so it produces that gout of flame at the end. not sure how Simo Häyhä was able to hide that.

  • You need to change the brake out for a suppressor.

  • damn for 7.62 x54 that has almost no recoil in that config lol

  • @sabrinashasi custom not costom

  • I HATE YOU.

  • @GeminaMartiaVicXIV AWESOME :D

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Thats not fugly at all! lol

  • Nice, no trigger discipline when the kid had the rifle and I like the way the bolt almost pulled out from your abuse of the "HK Slap" which this hybrid is not designed to handle. I am surprised that did not blow up in your face.

  • 5 people are purists

  • That thing must be horrifically loud with that muzzle brake! It certainly sounds vicious in the video. I hope your ear recovered from that unexpected blast, as I recall my hearing wasn't quite right for a day or so after I got too close to my friend's M44 a few years back. "Fugly" may not be the best-looking tactical carbine around, but it certainly is an intriguing concept.

  • please help. i must know how to build one!!!!!!!!

  • stop getting upset over this ... there are plenty of mosin nagants around ... its not like he ruined a genuine silver and ivory musket ... like the ak it was made in the millions

  • HOLY SHIT! i know there are purists blowing an "o-ring" over this one but seriously shoot me a parts list, or make a video on this, this would be an awesome pack rifle on a budget!!! lemme know how i can get one!

  • You have destroyed a beautiful gun. I hate you.

  • @BusinessofATFE oh boo hoo there are about 18 million more of these damn things. And there is no reason for you to complain. he paid for that gun its his property and his right to do whatever he wants to the damn thing.

  • I am working on one of my own but am having trouble finding a stock. Are there any other rifles that have a close action blueprint? I am thinking seriously thinking about modding the ATI stock to my liking with some Devcon and wood. I know about Boyds and ATI but as far as i can find that is it other than fully custom work. That would be out of my price range...Im looking for something that is a bit more friendly to shoot prone.

  • What kind muzzle brake is that and where can I get one. Thanks IV8888

  • I would love to see a tabletop video on this. Is that the M44? Best looking one ive seen. Love that muzzle brake... how about a video on the conversion?

  • Add a front fore grip and you will be legend!

  • Hit 4 numerous times... it's great.

  • looks like that break works really good

  • Cool looking rifle, I like. I've seen the Mosin Nagant cut down to a pistol before -- there's a name for it, but I forgot what it's called. i bet that kicks like an SOB.

One thing I noticed about yours, because of the pistol grip, your hand has to travel a lot farther to work the bolt. You've got the motion down pretty well, it looks like, though.

    Great work.

  • @762x51n8o

Isn't it called obrez of something like that?

  • @monkey6321 Something like that.

  • I see at 1:59 you had a malfunction. I have what looks to be the same malfunction after loading a stripper clip into my 91/30. I believe it to be the rims on the rounds of the first two rounds catching on each other. I don't exactly know how to solve this problem. Any help on this would be helpful. Thank you.

  • Why?

  • Lol funny looking "sporter". I bet the Russians would be pround ;D

  • Loud?

  • What kinda of mount and scope is that? Im looking to get a scope on my 91/30

  • That is one sticky bolt.
