continued: but of course, they would never do the same for women.
Almost no men are violent. Or sexually violent. Or among the ownership class.
Politicians serve the powerful voters. Businessmen serve the powerful consumers(80% of wealth is spent by women. Earning = temporarily holding onto goods and services.) The media serves the viewers and readers - but advertising's domination of the media tilts it to serve the consumers.
We have been living in a matriarchy for a long time now.
The amount of messages boys receive regarding their inferiority to girls in society are astronomical. Their decades-long continuous decline of boys in school is apparently not critical to all those with hate in their hearts. Neither are the suicide rates, homelessness rates, short life expectancy, depression rates, job injuries, violence victims - all mostly men.
Those with hate in their hearts develop indifference to this by painting men as a monolithic entity and just blame men for it all.
To make it clear to all the dumb people - yes. This commercial is funny.
That's not the point.
The point is that the reverse is done at 0.005% the frequency. But you female supremacists and white knight traitors are too indoctrinated to see that.
I'm sorry but this commercial if hysterical. Not because the parent's favor the daughter so obviously, but just because it is something me and my siblings would laugh about if my parents did it. Obviously this isn't going to be a "how to" for parents who decide to NOT get U-Verse. Btw to those who didn't get it...the commercial was advertising that WITH U-Verse this wouldn't be an issue. It's directed toward other tv & internet companies! Calm down people! It's not like someone is shooting you.
What happened to everyone's sense of humor? It's not intended to be a parenting how-to video, its supposed to grab ones attention with humor... Something I think think it does very well. *SMH* at all this misplaced outrage.
This commercial is terrible! What was AT&T and the marketing company thinking? This proves how little companies look at their image! There is nothing funny about this commercial. This has NOTHING to do with their products and services. It's just rude and distasteful. There was a Farmers commercial where the kid jerked the keys out of his fathers hands. That part of the commercial has been cut! So disappointing to see how little class and dignity remains in TV today.
If you think this is bad, well you need to lighten up people. Seriously, it's a commercial, which is actually pretty funny. It's a joke. I have sisters and we find this hilarious, but then again we have a sense of humor...
@stop08it The reason America is so Screwed up is we have people like you! This commercial isn't Funny and hey this is coming from a guy that loves nasty jokes and movies. There is a time and place for everything but for A T & T to put this one on the air shows me they don't get it. I have been with the Death Star company since 1998 for my internet and cell phone. And since 1990 for my home phone I'm not going to drop them. But A T & T should watchout for hurtful commercials!
@photo2c calm down...i think it's horrible too but i don't think getting angry over people who have a different opinion is worth it because like i said it's part of life.point your anger at the people who made this commercial and thought it was ok...
not really funny at all. i see this sort of thing happening with my nieces and it breaks my heart. one is praised while the other is put down right in front of their faces....people don't think about it because they are still toddlers but kids are way way smarter than we think. ugh hate it...
I just want to PUKE!!!! Every-time I see this commercial !!!!!! I am so outraged that they run this ALL the time! What a horrible message they are sending to our kids, not to mention young parents, who might think that ,this is the way to raise kids. Favorites---- REALLY!!!! come on , don't kids have enough to think about now a days? Let's not put another self-doubt in there heads!!!!
This is so funny... I find it so sad as well for all who say that this commericial is " terrible etc." this is "make believe people" give me a break. Ours society is soo sensitive about everything.... yes there probably are families like this but that is life, people just need to lighten up a bit...GEEZ
Yes it's funny but it's about timing. This should have been shown at night when kids aren't up, but it's shown primetime. It's funny for us adults who know most parents dont have favorites, but siblings always have the fear that their parents love one more than the other. I laugh at horrible Aristocrats jokes, but I would find issues with it were someone saying it with kids in the room.
i hate this commercial soooo much, really. they think favoritism is funny. it's not. i'm an only child, but i have friends who's parents play favorites with the older kid. i seriously hate favoristism with a passion.
this is a terrible commercial. I am glad to see there are other people out there who see how bad this is. I can not believe that ATT keeps airing this. I am going to seriously take a look at other providers in my area and thank God I do have choices. ATT sucks for ads like this. this does not show positive attitudes towards parenting, being female, or sibling favoritism. this is just plain bad. Shame on ATT. I think I will go seek out another service.
Seriously, people.Yes, it's so wrong but that's what makes it so right. If you can't laugh at extremes than you are wound way too tight. Relax & enjoy the humor that was intended. I'm a mother of 4 small children - and I have no problem with this commercial. It makes me laugh inside every time I see it . If you allow a 30-second commercial to shape your child's sense of self then you are doing something wrong as a parent.
I despise this commercial....so some parents are blatantly stupid and play "favoritism" - granted we all probably relate better to one kid than the other...which is a moving target at the years go by....but good parents keep it as under the radar as possible. Also what kind of message does this give girls that aren't as pretty as their friends? Or just think they aren't? Pretty is in the heart in my opinion! I despise ATT for this very reason...his goes beyond stupid! I find it validates stupid
Can you imagine the message this is sending to little kids? It is telling them that parents have favorites and think nothing of the other one(s) Hate it.
As much as I hat AT&T I love this commercial. It is so blatantly accusational of American parenting and female privilege ("you are pretty therefore you deserve better treatment") that you know it has to be a spoof. It's like Family Guy or Married With Children. It is the antithesis of morality, but what makes it is the way the husband waits for his wife (who jumps the gun) to answer (basically saying whatever she says). I am stunned AT&T would have the chutzpah to put themselves out like this.
@wilstar53 Are you kidding me? Kidding us? This commercial is so irresponsible for how parents should make decisions. This ignorance has me totally disgusted with U-verse and its intentions for family entertainment.
U-verse probably promotes various TV shows that disgraces the family unit and what can represent a better promise for our future. U-verse is obviously trying to promote itself to the scorned loner who has no friends and needs to have extensive television to entertain himself.
@c123Liff So, I guess you have ADD, huh? (Attention Deficit Disorder) So I do apologize. I forget that not everyone is born with natural behaviors and comprehension retention ability.
Never mind my comment. It wasn't meant for you, I'm afraid. I hope I kept this short enough for you to comprehend.
AT$T stole my money. I had a credit in my account and they wiped it out of my account because I left them to Verizon. I will never again deal with AT$T. By the way I left because my calls constantly dropped and operators were rude. Now they are billing me in retaliation. I am glad I am not part of these network of evils.

Boy and man bashing on television would be fine, if the reverse would be done as well.
Of course, with the epic prevalence of female-chauvinist-pigs in the west, that would never happen.
Male victims = funny.
female victims = offensive. And always followed by comeuppance to the aggressor.

Just a new take on the anti-male ads we see everywhere, but instead of the dumb dad, it's the son. You'd never see this ad the other way around.
