Hey, what's up everybody... I'm here because all of you guys are Pearl Jam fans, and because, if you can deal with a little bit of 'spam', I'm here to promote my new band Overshadowed. We just got done recording our demo, it's on our channel, and we'd love if anyone could simply check the songs, leave a comment, or anything of the sort. We'd really appreciate it!
FYI, I came HERE because we love and respect Pearl Jam, and are hoping for whatever respect you guys might have leftover...
August 25 2006, Bramham Park was when I got to see my favourite band-Pearl Jam headline Leeds Fest. Not just an ordinary gig, it was like a pilgrimage.
Was there.......Amazing, the best live band i have seen by far,and by good fortune seen them 3 times, wish it was more though, eddie vedder is an inspiration
I was at this gig and a sometimes watch this video and others from the festival so thought I'd leave a comment. Fucking excellent gig, fucking excellent band, absolutely brilliant!!
WOW something I didnt realize until the thousandth time of watching this is that Mcready starts filming the crowd and the band at the end. definitely taking the experience and memories in.
Eddie is to me a direct descendent of guys like BB King, Robert Johnson, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, and even ladies like Tina Turner, Aretha Frankln, Janis Joplin etc. And I meant that in that when he sings, he pours 100% of his soul into what he's singing, so much that no matter what it is, he connects with the listener in such a profoundly human way that you can't help but marvel at the beauty the world still has to offer through music.
@justfine77777 well, you can always buy a reissue with relic paint... theyre about 2-3 grand but not like 20 GRAND!!!! and they sound about the same...
5:05 I absolutely love how Jeff Ament and Eddie Vedder sit there as Mike plays and just sort of share that moment, staring out at the crowd. It really reminds me of the good things in life.
Seeing Pearl Jam is definitley something I have to do before I die. They are absolute legends! I'm going to see Alice In Chains in a few weeks who I also love, but I think I would trade those tickets for Pearl Jam anyday!
you already missed, seeing REAL alice in chains... i missed them too... without layne staley they its not the real band... his voice was maybe a little bit scratchy, but very unique!!!!
but pj live was my best concert so far...2006 in vienna!!!
Caught AIC in 91 with Staley in KC, loved Man in The Box and smoked a ton of turkish hashish at that show, one of the best i've ever been to.
About that Time PJ erupted, maybe 92. Also fortunate enough to have seen them last October '09 in Austin TX, I've dreampt of seeing them live. all these years, two great bands..I am fortunate. and honestly, PJ still keeps getting better, take care of eachother out there.
@0hoodster0 I hear ya broheem...but if it was still Layne...the thought of a trade for ANY band wouldnt even enter my mind for a second....know what I mean??
i was at this gig and this left me almost in tears! However, i do love the version on live at the garden. Plus, the riff was written as a semi tribute to Hendrix, hence the similarity to little wing and the ease that mccready occasionally slips into it durin his second solo

Buy our stuff!" - I love when Eddie grabs the binoculars and looks out into the crowd - making a connection with them and waving. Its really powerful. The man knows whats important. People, memories, experiences... not materialistic possessions. You can just tell hes taking in the experience, because once its gone, its gone.
Terrible tom, thats why I love Pearl Jam, they have been around for over 2 decades, still writing great songs, still performing brilliantl live, and the thing is... they know they are fucking good, good live band with brilliant songs, they know they are so far better than the stadium rock norm of U2 etc!! Pearl Jam are simply brilliant!!! They dont need to get wrapped up in any rock bullshit!!! To be quite honest who needs more than Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam? OK bit of Simon & Garfunkels good!!
@TerribleT0M Simply put, this is just more than music to these guys. Its more than just music to us fans too. Its that simple. Some people just don't or can't understand that.
Next to Leeds a few days before it was the first festival they'd played since one a few years back where people got crushed to death, so they were really anxious.
Yeh Badfish and Cobhammer, he may not have the anger in his voice that he had then, but the point ur missing is that he doesn;t need the power anymore. The music's changed, he has more soul to it now, which I personally think makes him a better singer.

amen to that man...they play what they believe and feel they are a real class act, they play every show like it's their last...god bless pearl jam. bringing you moments like this since 1990
wow this is an amazingly clear recording, u usually cant get something this good on pearl jam songs. and thankfully this is my favorite song by them, i believe metal and rock will have it's time in the spot light again, and kick this shallow stupid ass pointless rap to the toilet. long live pearl jam.
p.s thank you for posting this, it's the clearist version ive seen, it really is a great song.
i do it live to, there's nothing wrong with it at all.
personally i think it give's a little something to the audiance that they didn't expect. and i get to express myself and it keeps the show alive, and simply put it keeps me happy lol.
This was one of the greatest moments in my life.I asked a random girl next to me if she would care to dance during this song. We embraced each other and just slow danced, Christ she was beuatiful. The song slowly ended, I hugged her and shook her hand. We thanked each other, said our parting ways.I walked off into the darkness with a feeling of contemptness and hope in the decent folk of society.I did'nt even ask what her name was. I dont wana no either! I whish mikes solo could of lasted forever
see...it's moments like this that make it all worth while. everything we put up with in our daily life and all the shit that is out there this fake ass rap stuff and all that...it can all be made better by something as beautiful and true as a dance like that, it just makes u forget all those things and sets you free, im glad u got to experiance that. you are one of the lucky people who go tto experiance the power of pearl jam live...it's all made worth while by these little moments like this.
notice how the lyrics are different in every live version of this side. nonetheless, pearl jam is the most kick ass band ever and eddie vedder is my idol. great song!
All i must say is that THIS VIDEO JUST PROVES HOW GODLY AMAZING PEARL JAM IS!!!!!!! Yellow Ledbetter is my favorite Pearl Jam song and Pearl JAM IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE my favorite band of all time!!!!!! And as a vocalist myself, i proudly admit that Eddie Vedder IS AND ALWAYS will be my vocalist idol/HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!! VIVA PEARL JAM!!!!!! (all this coming from a 16 year old)
I am 17 :) not much people of our age ( i think) listen to pearl jam or know much of it. I know quiet a lot of it. And Pearl jam IS Pearl jam. Nobody can cover it. They have that one special thing that not much people have. Neil young has a bit the same and Nirvana to. All grunch (well Neil young before it.) Pearl jam is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!!.
I play guitar and i want to write songs like Pearl jam :)
ahahah i believe u mean grunge....and i personally believe that there are millions upon millions of people around our age who listen to Pearl Jam, they just dont admit it! Oh yeah, and they are coverable! lol...my band and i are gonna start working on our own version of Yellow Ledbetter! lol (not to ruin it of course)......i dont know how long it will take, but i personally will make sure that we can make Eddie proud!
It could be that you're correct about the people of our age. But i am admit it :p Pearl jam just rocks. Well if you practice long enough on Yellow Ledbetter you will make something nice i think. But it never will have the same feeling like PJ plays it.
hahaha yeah. agreed. im guessing we'll work on it for about 4 or so months so as to create some serious amazingness! lol....and u'd be suprised. while yes, it of course will never have the same feeling as pj because as u mention pj does = pj, the feeling will be quite similar as my voice, while not the same as Eddie's tends to be very grungey.....so i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. :)
lol i cant count anymore how many covers there are of this awesome song, nor how many times ive heard it

I'd say tubescreamer before the phaser so the phaser signal doesn't get distorted.

wiat you mean amp--tubescreamer--phaser--guitar right?
because otherwise your phaser would get distorted.

No, if you run the tubescreamer after the phaser and guitar then the phaser signal will get distorted.

Probably the best comment I have read on You Tube. Nice to know we don't all hate each other and our opinions :)

notice how the lyrics are different in every live version of this side. nonetheless, pearl jam is the most kick ass band ever and eddie vedder is my idol. great song!

Sorry is grunge i know :p mistyped xd.
It could be that you're correct about the people of our age. But i am admit it :p Pearl jam just rocks. Well if you practice long enough on Yellow Ledbetter you will make something nice i think. But it never will have the same feeling like PJ plays it.
But maybe thats good because pj = pj.
Good luck on the song :)

hahaha yeah. agreed. im guessing we'll work on it for about 4 or so months so as to create some serious amazingness! lol....and u'd be suprised. while yes, it of course will never have the same feeling as pj because as u mention pj does = pj, the feeling will be quite similar as my voice, while not the same as Eddie's tends to be very grungey.....so i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. :)
