  • north sea festival 94

  • great, check out their performance at north sea festival its unbelievable even by their standards, their version of douce ambiance made me cry

  • Absolutely unique musicians. Bravo!

  • 6 people just have no taste..!

  • i think the exact chords of what he is playing are a little bit difficult -)

  • Can anyone tell me the EXACT chords that the guy on the left is playing? please?

  • @TheDarkSide599 look up "swing 42 gypsy play along"

if you see the video icon with black background and chords, then you've found it.

    the account is GBQuartet

  • *****

  • jamming is like talking with friends

  • 2:12 El Manisero!!!

  • Whats funny is there are posting for lessons on you tube for playing these guys music Yea right... and im going to play 3rd base for the yankees next week Holy Shite ! Would love to see live been a long time since i heard them what a breath of fresh air

  • i think that guitarplayers like this is the best in the world

  • LOVE IT

  • someone told me 2 listen 2 this . its actually amazing .

  • Aren't pop stars ashamed to make money off their "music"? Most of that drivel only thrives b/c people are so tasteless or elso uneducated about music.

  • @koreankayagum

    you are so right..!

  • ces nul !! il copie le trio rosenberg sa creve les yeux !!!

  • @joshlive29 non, mais C'EST le trio Rosenberg...

  • @pwouaro je fesait de l'humour ...

  • I was listening to them on the toilet seat and it made me smile for once yha!!!

  • why isn't this as populair as lady gaga, kanye west, beyonce and more of that crap. :) If you look up the definition 'music' in the dictionary there must be a picture of the rosenberg trio and not that other crap. :)

  • @mysporechannel if Stochelo Rosenberg looked like Beyonce it would probably help. But true.

  • As excellent as this is, it's a shame to think that most people except for true musicians even know this music exists. I remember playing this song in high school guitar class as an ensemble 25 years ago. My guitar teacher was a big fan of Django

  • Excellent !!

  • These guys are absolute legends..!!

  • uniek talent, verder geen commentaar

  • Excellent......very refreshing to hear this style.....

  • In a world of crap culture overflowing, it is wonderful to see and hear true musicians playing their collective butts off. I just bought a Dupont to play this. At my age -- 63 -- fat chance even though I've played since I was eight. But this is a whole other trip.

Great stuff, eternal music! seven stars, not five...

  • @BlindTom61

Pretty much this. I'm embarrassed for my generation's musical contributions. We have nothing like this to point at and say we're proud of. Instead, we have impossible amounts of in-and-out pop garbage the industry produces in bulk and hurls towards impressionable adolescents with no personality like shit at a brick wall, in the vain hope that something will stick and maybe even return a profit.

  • @BlindTom61 I agree with you 110%

  • @BlindTom61 I agree with you 110%

  • @BlindTom61 Wise words tom, this is true musicianship, i wish i could play this intricatley

  • Цыгане красавцы ,виртуозы!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Can the Rosenberg Trio do no wrong? Fantastic playing as always.

  • Hi everyone! Thanks A-bo for posting videos. Great quality, virtuoso band.

Some very inspired comments here... It's truly incredible that just about every city in the world has their own "Hot Club" band, drawing in the best players.

There is a new instructional book written by Stan Ayerhoff with charts and analysis of Django's playing. Playing the chords can be tough, remember he used basically two fingers, and the pinky finger only on the first few strings.

    Rosenberg Trio- Awesome!

  • I always enjoy Django tunes, dude, I listen to his material probably more than just about any other artists', but when some poster begins using faulty logic, I try and correct it for him, that's if he seems like he's possibly able to stand the criticism. That's how people learn. When we learn how to play instruments, if everyone just bowed their heads in amazement, we'd never correct ourselves now would we?

  • How unfortunate . These guys could have been enjoying the music all this time. I wonder if they even listened to the incredible version of this Django tune. Boys will be boys.

  • you guys better move your fight to a more suitable place.

  • guys like u are horrible

  • Oh wow, the moron knows how to finish a paragraph with epithets. If you knew anything at all about inductive reasoning I wouldn't have to finish the phrase "deductive reasoning". Considering your last two sentences, I now know why so many of your posts were removed above. Your not only a sophist, but a nasty one at that, ha, ha. For an "Italian" though your English isn't bad.

  • by removing my posts i just wanted to cancel somehow ideally the fact that i wasted time discussing with a guy who doesn't know anything at all... just consider you haven't come up with one valid argument yet in any of the matters we've been talking about. i asked you to explain WHY - according to you - my inductive reasoning is wrong.

  • Wow, you don't give up easy. You should see if you can join the pro cage fighters, ha, ha. I do know what inductive reasoning is, BTW, but you induced incorrectly, that's all. I suggest deductive is usually more effective. Cheers? Aussie, maybe? Or Brit? Or maybe Bostonian American? Or maybe just a wannabe? How's that for inductive? Ha, ha. Cheers.

  • ah, well... since you claim to know what inductive reasoning is i beg you to explain why you think i reasoned incorrectly. actually you seem to have no clue at all about it since you've mentioned "deductive" (deductive what?). and no i am actually italian.. i just said cheers for using a polite expression for saying "now, drink your mom's piss". idiot.

  • ha, ha.

  • Jeez, dude you better begin searching for that English tutor, as noone here ever mentioned quoting dictionaries for "every word" anyone has said. I meant exactly the word I refered to, none other. Don't infer "following meaning" where there is none. Funny, you should speak of logic when you have none.

  • beethovenbix, of course you're absolutely correct. iMeAndMy.., I suppose must've blown his top, being that he had a bunch of his posts removed. Oh well, he shouldn't have started with the assinine comments in the first place.

  • "ENJOY THE MUSIC" people.

This is a Music forum - not a Fighting or

    Squabbling arena. 'Relax'.

  • Well, maybe you do at least speak Italian besides English, at least judging from your profile page, nonetheless, it doesn't prove you didn't look connaisseur up in a dictionary. Anyone can do that too. Or use Spellcheck for that matter. Then again, maybe you're just a net genius wasting time posting instead of inventing or discovering things, eh? Yeah right.

  • I was imitating you, moron. Besides, you "well informed" pseudo-intellectual, at least I speak

English. I doubt very much that you speak any other languages, especially something as difficult as Hungarian. Anyone can go to net dictionaries to figure out English meanings for handles in other languages. Of course if you're Hungarian and speak the language I will have put my foot in my mouth as well, but that won't phase me. I'll just be happy another one of us is expressing himself.

  • iMeAndMyselfAndMe, dude, that was funny, first, you bag on me for misspelling the name, (which I admit I did, no big deal, it's the music that counts in this case, this is not a spelling test), then you realize you misspelled "conniseur". Isn't this called "Foot in the mouth?" Ha, ha.

  • exellent job i love this music so much

its great that a few masters like stochelo are still alive

i hope i can see them all live one day

    greetings from germany

  • too good.

  • ace impro. lets not forget how tight the accompaniment is either man theyr tight

  • Sick!!!

  • its weryyyy goooddddddddd

  • lardinho.., and robmcgreal.., you two are Malmsteen fags. Stochello can play aggressively too, and has on some pieces, he just doesn't choose to everywhere. Besides the technical difficulty levels in Gypsy Jazz are generally beyond Metal. Don't get me wrong , love malmsteen too, but Stochello and several other Gypsy Jazz players are just as developed .

  • isn't it written by django and not not by williams and hickman?

  • Ah là là samois

  • puttana ladra spaccano i culo!! complimenti!!

  • Who is this guy playing the lead? It's a shame that he is not famous, I plays so cool melodys? Everbody just talks about Michael JAckson and other so called stars. °^

  • He is famous.

But not among pop music audience.

  • i guess it would be interesting if they sometimes switched their roles. Stochelo playing the rythm and his brother improvising a bit .. I would love to see, if nousche can do the picking at least half as good as stochelo does.

  • Love my daddy nous'che rosenberg!

    Good song(L)

    Groetjes

  • I was there that year At Samoi sur seine;)

    2003!

  • yeh

  • Sat in on a rhythm seminar with Stochelo and Nous'che at Djangofest, they are such amazing talents yet very humble and funny. They are a rock solid inspiration to all players of this genre.

  • I`ve just took a lesson from Mr Rosenberg in a guitarshop which he held. This evening Rosenberg Trio will play live at Jazz festival in my town.

  • Great performance! Fantastic!

  • Incredible playing! When i grow up i pray i sound as good as you!

  • did you know they can't read sheet music?

    they're insane

  • you hear this???? its no Malsteem, hehe its just good fun music! Here it is

  • lol yer i mean, malmsteen is a mad player but the majority of hes song sound like hes gonna go in to battle with the mongols or something lol

  • rofl. best description of malmsteens playing ever!

  • i listen 2 this video everytime im on my computer!! pure magic!!!!

  • love it!

  • omg!! legends!!

  • i'm sorry guys but they playing on a eimers guitar. in 2003 i was there.

  • Its not just the sound, but the technicality of the music that makes you smile =)

  • Fantastic!

  • Im not a fan at this genre of music at all but this is truly talent. Good job guys!

  • yes indeed he`s not human!!

  • dieu k'c'est bon d'entendre ça

  • WTF? (H.Williams/A Hickman)????

This was written by Django himself as a tribute to Louis Armstrong! Not, I repeat not by (H.Williams/A Hickman)

  • hey everyone, í'm roy de rijke i'm 13 years old.I played with my father and teacher the gypsi swing and it is a big dream to good as the rosenberg trio. look to my video press roy de rijke to youtube kind regards roy, and please leave a comment :)

  • yeah this is as good as it gets. one of my fav django and steph duo tunes.

  • yeahhh djan kake doeg

  • Simply AMAZING!! I've checked out his other Youtube music and Stochelo is just FANTASTIC!!! Come play Chicago! I would love to hear you in person! Unbelievable!

  • mooi

  • I have been there :) nice 1

  • Best I've heard by far of Django style playing. Improvises just like the man himself. Now only if he could do it with 2 fingers, that would be somethin' else again.

  • As Joscho Stephan once said: "I have four fingers, why should I play with two" haha

  • hot stuff!

  • GREAT PLAYING... best I've heard in the Django Tradition.. man! its way hot

  • Jimmy and Stochelo are THE BEST!

  • Man, these guys are tight. Stochelo is one of the most tasteful guys in this style, if you ask me. J. Rosenberg is technically impressive, but he tries to cram too many notes in, and sometimes I feel that he's just stringing arpeggios together, but not really making music. I'd like to hear him solo with just eighth notes, just to see how much taste he has.

  • great! thanks for posting

  • Stochelo is the wonderboy gone overlord of the manouche swing :) He and Nous'che are playing Eimers guitars, from holland. Stochelo Rosenberg Signature and Nous'che Rosenberg signature (large mouth) for this concert. Otherwise, Stochelo plays mostly his Selmer N°504, the one Clapton was dying for but never got to spend his dollars on in the last place :) Guitar stays in the Rosenberg family.

  • MN BROER HEEFT EEN VD VAN ZE GEWELDIG!

  • stochelo ik hou van je je bent en goed musicant

goed ik play gitar jaaz modern ,,,,ik been lakatos pali .............dzjango

  • Beautiful rendition of one of my favorite Django tunes. Missed the clarinet harmony (or fiddle unison, depending on which cut it was). Stochelo is the king of the post-Django era to me -- best combination of passion, speed, power and good taste.

  • Agreed totally. Stochelo seems to be a touch more creative and interesting to me than the others. They're all absolute marvels to watch though.

  • Dell arte's are nice but they are not it. warps crack no volume are problems.

  • i'm a sinti form holland my self and play like 30 year guitar.

    i play a BERGEIJK guitar(oval gipsy)

    nice soud perfect

  • y a que les francais qui savent jouer manouche!!!

  • Rosenberg plays Dell Arte guitars often. And made in, of all places - San Diego, CA (Santee, CA) check 'em out: Too bad it's sold. They play beautifully! Check out gypsyjazz dot net

  • JIMMY Rosenberg plays Dell Arte guitars not Stochelo.

  • Stochelo is the greatest player alive! Very shy guy too

  • Is he single and hetero? I'm game.

  • Stochelo must be from another planet........this is some tasty and outstanding guitar playing....full of catchy hooks!!!

  • i wasnt sure what guitar he is playing here but he does own the selmer 505. eric clapton wanted to buy it from him but stochelo pulled out of the sale on the day. he bought it from a lady who aproached him after a gig and told that her husband had a guitar like his in the house, (his model at the time was a favino) her husband had died. on seeing that it was a selmer 505 he made an offer but she refused to sell it. after a couple of days she changed her mind and sold it to him

  • the selmer he is using is the guitar made after djangos. the serial on djangos is 504 this is the 505!

  • no, he is using an Eimers Stochelo Rosenberg Signature guitar with maple back and sides which is modelled on his Selmer. The guitar was made for him shortly before this concert.

  • ?????????????????????i love it

  • Anyone have a clue as to what scales this dude is using? Please help i have no idea how to make my music into this kind of jazz apart from playing chords in such a way.

    Cheers

  • That was in 2003, a tribute to Django at Samois. I was filming at the same time as the official film was taken.

    Love it.

  • Qué tío más bestial, wow!

  • Thanks, pruly, I thought the guitar he was playing was Selmer. It's sound is so unique, and beautiful.

  • this guitar that he is playing was the guitat of django a very old salmere guitar

  • nice...!

  • yes it is swing 42,

I like the sound of the guitar ;-)

    thanks for the nice video

  • oh, really?

    I'll fix the title.

    thx for your comments.

  • I think this song is called Swing 42. Love it! Thanks for the upload

  • I dont like that guitar. Doesnt sound "rosenberg" to me, and is one of the worst sounding i have seen him play on.

  • he's definitely playing a different guitar than usual, but I like it, it sounds weird.

  • Thanks for streaming this.
