For metal, I'd go with frets. Definitely.

Try a P-bass....great rock n roll/metal type of bass. But the best way is still to try every bass in the store until you find one that feels/sounds right to you.

Any bass is good, otherwise they wouldnt be on the marker, but some are "more good" than others. This would be my prime suggestion and something like a 10-15 want peavy amp. sicne i cant link ill try to draw it out.

I use a direct recorder, which has outputs for a stereo or for headphones. If I play through a stereo, it doesn't sound very clear, but if I play through the headphones, the music and bass is perfectly clear. So I go with headphones.

It's all in the knobs on the amp and bass. :) Slight changes in the tone can make a completely different sound.

Ummm...you do realize that I take considerable liscence with a tune, right? That is why I don't use the word "cover" and use "rendition" instead. If you do not like the extra stuff, fine, but do not presume I don't know how the song goes as if I have not been listening to Maiden since 1983. If you want Iron Maiden's version from a fanboy whose been pouring over the tabs for months, you have come to the wrong place.
