Although some child protective service providers are understaffed and overworked, and there is always the element of corruption in any society, for the most part i think that the men and women of cps are genuinely passionate about what they do and they see things on their work day that just plain should not happen. Every society n every age has its' "bad eggs". But the good eggs are far more common !

I knew a girl who was part of that. She lived in a foster home, and they wouldn't even let her look at newspaper clippings from the trials, until her 18th birthday.

She told me "This is why I was put into foster care."

She never talked about any of it, she just showed me the articles.
