  • i happen to be a beginner and im palying this just fine :3

  • second video i've come across that still doesnt show the second part. BLASPHAMY

  • @TheOriginalJarvis ehm no.. sorry to inform you that i know this song inside out. Oh btw, do you know what a G chord is?

  • thanks dude

  • dude do you really think people learning this song dont know a G chord?

  • Wow, all those fantastic guitarists out there that came to this lesson just to bitch about it........I thought he did a wonderful job explaining the fingering that might have taken me 6 or 8 hrs to get. I just skippd past the parts I knew, like the "G" chord.........what a blessing to have this here to help. Thanks.

  • This was very helpful for me in breaking down the percussion. Thank you.

  • at 4:51..forgets what a thumb is.

  • Thanks!!! It was very helpful!! :)

  • thank you helped me alot

  • why does this guy always waste his tutorials talking

  • Thanks for your information

  • you talk entirely too much. geez

  • This helped me a lot! thank you so much!

  • Good video thanks!!!

  • u are THAT GUY.

  • wrong, eighth note is 2 taps per down beat and 16th note is 4...how does this have so many views?

  • @TechnoFestDestiny No, the way he describes it IS correct. He said the first 8th note plays on the down-beat and the second 8th note plays on the up beat. That means that there are two "taps" per beat (up & down being one beat). In 4/4 time, that means that there will be a total of 8 "taps" in each measure.

You misunderstood what he told you.

  • Would you like to tell me a type and brand your Guitar thanks

  • @MrAnjarpra I know it's a dean acoustic guitar.

  • ur hair makes me wanna punch a dog

  • I loved it. I'm a beginner and this helped me to play it :)

  • Comment removed

  • Dude I think it's time you called it the index finger rather than the freakin "pointer finger"

  • where is the 2nd part?

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • @vandyfan37 Dean acoustic guitar.

  • I appreciate the "how to" - but you spend to much time "explaining" that you are going to explain. Just jump in... go right into "play a g" and stop being such a pussy.

  • new drinking game; drink everytime he says emm or amm

  • @avrilfan1234546

    thats creepy,

i was actually just thinking that lol

  • Best lesson on Youtube.

  • lol @4:50 he's looking at his thumb like "what the fuck are you again?"

  • I'm sorry but I don't think I can take a man serious who doesn't know what his thumb is..

  • Tatatata..

    roflcopter.

  • I liked it

  • Lmao at his face at 1:43. (:

  • Hey,

Check out my cover of why georgia.

I think it does it justice so have a listen!

  • "ammmm emmm ammm emmm " :@

    STREEESSNG!

  • OKAY

  • abuse of the thumb

  • abuse of the thumb

  • Don't waste your money. nzcoops has a much better tutorial for free, and you don't have to listen to him explain a G chord =/

  • Is it just me or does he instruct us to play on the 3rd fret, 3 string at the end, but plays 3rd fret, open? I don't like the way it sounds otherwise...

  • great tutorial, this is really easy to follow. when i first read the tab, i thought it was gonna be hard, but this makes it seem easy!

  • so this kid knows 16 and 8 th notes and he is the shit.

  • Great Gob!! :)

  • Great teaching. Now i play this song, thanks to you!

  • what took 6 minutes should have taken 1min. the teaching seems liek it was for someone who never picked up a guitar in their life.

  • Borrrrrring and so damn anoying you over teach it too much get to the damn song play and show don't talk so much

  • probably the single best, easiest to follow, and quickest virtual instructor on here

  • @taproot126 quickest is a lie. But easy to follow is an understatement (?) d;

  • i dont think a person who doesn't know how to play a G chord would look up things like this. (not that this is a difficult song) but i skipped to over 4 minutes in and you were STILL on the G chord. I wanted some finger advice on the C with the suspended notes and the hammer on and pull off, but it wasn't here :(

  • amateur player here.....sure he plays decently but hardly qualified to 'teach'. If you have but a small amount of musical talent you can learn by yourself to play at least this well...........and maybe you will be a "teacher" also.

  • @musicluvinguy Well i'm sure your MUCH better. Judging from all your vid.... Oh wait! You don't have any! Quit talking shit from your mom's basement. This video's fucking great for beginners, suck a dick.

  • yea i dont get it. you think someone who isnt familiar with basic chords is going to attempt this song?

  • @Gammarklar yes :)

  • If you play this song as boring as he just did. Then don't play it..

  • this song is too hard for beginners, so dont act like you're explaining it to a beginner.

  • @RedMax6496 i'm a beginner and i learned this song in 4 hours lol

  • @odhit oh you are so smart. Are you really sure you can play the whole song with normal speed and without mistakes? RedMax is right!

  • @LennyLeonard85 when im lucky yeah i can play it 100% clean. It's just that I've listened to this song too many times lol I guess I just kinda picked up the rhythm and yeah i'm kinda talented :p

  • @RedMax6496

    speak for yourself bud

  • @RedMax6496 why do you think that? Beginners can do a lot of thing, it is the boundaries they put on themselves that limits them most of the times. Sorry for being philosophical, I did not mean to.

I think a beginner can play this part of the song it is reall not that hard.

  • @RedMax6496 haha, I don't play guitar and my friend showed me how to play this just today, the only other song I can play is the chords from Hotel California...

  • @RedMax6496 yeah you can shut your face, i took up the guitar without a teacher 4 weeks ago and i learnt a lot from this video- i play it fluently. i think you're just trying to put down beginners watching this video because it probably takes you a year to learn this. so don't go bitching things behind the cyber wall because of your lack of learning ability.

    Yours sincerely,

    MrAiyaa

  • @MrAiyaaa well, i was just looking for somebody who could play the song a bit more slowly. not spending 45 seconds explaining how to hold a G chord..

  • great lessong none the less, i wish every turorial has a good teacher like you

  • lol some lessons just skip through important parts, like how to tie melody and harmony, and this guys is teaching how to play a g chord.

  • what strings do you use?

  • great video

    thanks so much!!

  • you are awesome, i always get frustrated at how vague every guitar tutorial is and i end up getting lost in the chords/strumming but i picked this up right away! thanks

  • I HATE THE LAST PART WHEN HE SAYS " LEARN THE REST OF THIS SONG AND MUCH MORE AT JAMPLAY.COM"

  • dammit, it's wrong!

  • nice...i love yo guys's tuturials

  • hahahah 4:48-5:53 your going to pluck this with your ummmmmm thumb and your index finger, that made you sound like a retard, but other than that very precise tutorial man, took me al ittle while to understand your way of explaining things but good job.

  • I didn't know Rickety Cricket played guitar!

  • after you move up the neck, what strings are you picking after you play 5 and 4 together?

  • @atlman47 open g or orpen g and b if u like, then mute slap the open e again

  • @atlman47 play 4 and 5 simultaneously, then d open, and then do the 5, then 4, then d open again. just get the timing down

  • Very good tutorial. I have on tweak to the fingering that I think most people will find a bit easier. When moving from the Gmaj chord to the Dadd11 chord, keep your ring and pinky down on the 2nd and 1st strings respectively. Slide them up to the 5th fret as you move. There's no reason to readjust your entire grip!

  • Great lesson man I've been messing around with the tabs for the last week and hadn't got this song down. I watched your lesson and had that intro riff in less then 30 minutes. Thanks

  • um.....um.....um....um. Dude, watch your ums. This lesson was so drawn out.

  • mannnnn i cant hammer for some reason. is it cus i dont have hard finger tips o.o?

  • @H0B0B0 haha could be but its most likely because of your guitar...is it a good one? :p Also you might wanna use softer strings

  • @kiwiriwi yeah its a pretty good one. everyone who played it over like 8 years liked it. im using nylon strings, i can hammer on a little better but still isnt the same. probably because im just not good enough for this song... thanks anyway

  • This is the best tutorial I've ever found on youtube - for someone who can play zero guitar this was great!

  • AAAAhhhh Just a buncha teaser videos to get you to sign up.. GRRR It said Learn to play.. Not Learn to play first part of intro.. Big thumbs down for using Youtube as a commercial

  • You actually don't need to move your hand up the fretboard to play the intro.

  • On ahh pinkey finger mmahh and aaaam im goona break down mmmma e mma amm amm amm excouse me amh index finger, what you gonna do is mma amm.

WTF! He says "Amh/ahh" all the fucking time.

  • that was incredibly tedious and annoying.

  • great lesson but a real shame about the rest of the song! Is there no way you can do the rest of the song? Jamplay is so expensive!

    Anyway, loved this, thanks :)

  • 4:48

    FAIL

  • hahaha =D

  • good job

  • good playing..it helps to see it done. However, if someone doesnt know how to make a G chord, they have no business playing the song. U can probably skip on the basics.

  • no1 cares what ur fuckin name is jsut tell us how to play the dam thing

  • Good lesson

  • STFU! less talking more playing

  • less talk more play.... is really much appreciated.

  • Awh screw you guys, I actually know how to play the song cause he took time to explain it. Find a different video if it's too slow for you! ;)

    Wonderful job =)

  • Good lord man just post the tab !

  • you look and sound like steve buscemi

  • u gey wanker

  • you actually use your thumb on low e instead of using your palm.

  • sooo good i can play it now with my eyes closed and i never play stuff like this!! thank you

  • Same here! Thanks!

  • Cut the bullshit just show us how to play the goddamned song

    :-D

  • That's not a G at the start. And this videos really slow. But i guess thats better for beginners. Otherwise nice teaching

  • wanker

  • Fantastic.

  • this was great:D i'm a complete guitar-newb, and i got it:)

  • good job man

  • Very nice.....

  • You are an excellent teacher

  • great! it was very clear and useful

  • Is there a second part to this. I really like this song and he makes it sooooooooo easy to learn when you listen to what he plays with the tab. Thanks please post a second part to finish the song. Thanks!!!!!

  • you are awesome!

  • Very useful, thanks a lot

  • I think he did a great job breaking down the song into different parts. Pretty easy to learn!

  • thanks this guy i can play this now!

    thanks!

  • Good lesson, was having trouble getting the rhythm on this until I watched so thanks man.

  • Guitarslim56: At least the guy is taking time to do something constructive and doing a fine job I might add. What have have you done? It's so easy to be critical. OK. Now you can go back to watching others work while you eat jelly doughnuts and swill beer... fool.

  • Brilliant! "The G chord is really based around the G chord." Who knew?

  • hunter hall is gay

  • If you don't know what a G chord is, don't learn this song.

    Lmao.

  • @TheNissanKing lol, wrong! actually, I don't know any cords and I was visually able to follow along and I got it. :)

If you're a serious guitar player then you need to know the cords for sure.

  • that's an awful reason to learn guitar, but as long as you have fun with it haha

  • pretty sure John useshis thumb to fret the root note of the open G.

  • Haha, professional musicians read music. Plus basically anyone who plays an instrument that isn't a guitar.

  • well i know that, but thats the reason i chose to play guitar is cause i didnt have to read music

  • biggs your an ignorant fool. and il leave it at that.

  • haha what did i say..? all im trying to say is the majority of guitarist use tabs or chords. NOT professionals. professionals would NOT need lessons on the internet to play guitar.. i don't think im a "ignorant fool" at all, i have a valid point

  • Hendrix could read music.

  • I think it's funny at 4:50 he forgets what a thumb is. haha

  • hahaha.."ure ganna pluck this with ur, uhm...thumb."

  • This is a really good tutorial that this guy put out. Very proffesional and thorough when explaining. For all the guitar hero's with the negative feedback. Keep on playing in your bedrooms and thinking your some body when your really not. You and your mirror are your biggest fans. Jealousy and envy. Tsk, tsk, tsk....

  • Oh you are soo awesome!!

  • dude your so boring

  • he's making it harder thank it is

  • Sounds like David Cross. Here comes John Wayne

  • lame ass douchebag

  • Are all guitar players assholes? you guys are a bunch of douche bags if you haven't noticed these are segments of an instructional video meaning -NO ONE- is going to reply so if your trying to get a reaction out of someone you should just give up I didn't know the G cord when i learned this song to if this video isn't working for you go find another one now shut the fuck up so the rest of us can learn

  • you dont know a g chord, its chord btw, not cord,

thats probably the very first thing you learn when playing

  • Awesome intro, how did you make that?

  • lol 5:07

    ahahah wow. =]

people who don't know the g aren't gonna play this dude.

  • cant find the second part.. haha

  • Comment removed

  • too bad, seems the further services on the website are not free :(

  • i have seen 4 tuts to this song and this is the best (at least for the intro) imho.

But i dont get one thing, in the 3rd beat you say "pluck 4th and 5th stting on 4th and 5th fret". so far so good, but you also pluck sth. right after that and you dont say what that is. i can only suppose it is the open g string.

nice effort still! thx, i am right now learning the intro, seemed much harder than i thought at first :).

I hope i can find the further parts on your website.

  • I took guitar for about six months in 3rd grade but then i didn't like it. i was too young to understand. now im taking guitar lessons AGAIN! im new at it now. i tried playing this and i thought i sucked but then i realized my guitar sucks. its my grammas. thats why :(

  • lol i can't do the open A worth crap.

  • 3 mins to teach you how to hammer-on a G chord *facepalm*

  • you're going to pluck those with your..(pause, look of consternation)..thumb..! :P haha :)

    sorry. great video, thanks. :)

  • I must reallly suck , lol .

I'm just now learning guitar ..

  • you are clear, careful and all around excellent teacher. thanks!

  • great teacher!

  • worst teacher???? yeaaa right. this guy is awesome:)
