Congrats to spenna99 for an exceptionally well made video, you definitely showed taste and talent editing the music with the graphics,I really enjoyed this.
@anjelina1940 No disrespect, but there is a reason Chet Atkins is Mr. Guitar. Roy Clark gets overlooked, granted, probably because he was too funny for his own good at times, but Chet was on a whole other level. Roy Clark was fast as heck, one of the fastest flatpickers ever, but Chet could make a guitar an orchestra in his hands.
got a chance to see roy at the original grand ole opry at the ryman this summer, amazing show... i will never forget it... hes the only other person in the world that could sing What a Wonderful World other than Louis Armstrong... amazing
saw roy last week in branson missouri, 81 years old, double hip replacement and still playing guitar, banjo and fiddle as well as ever. he is a great artist.
I agree with you, he is an amazing artist. I met him 2 fridays ago on the 9th of October and it was amazing. Not only did he have a double hip replacement, but he also had spinal surgery. I have to correct you though, he is NOT 81 years old, he is 76. I posted a short video from the concert
@squidrowinc I'm with you on the fact that Mr. Clark is an extraordinarily talented individual. He's the reason I first picked up a guitar many more years ago than I'd like to remember! I met him several years ago, and he's as charming as he is talented.
However, are you sure he's 81? It was my understanding that he was born April 15, 1933, which would make him 77, today.

Chet Atkins was a pure guitar player, so he could specialize in it. Roy Clark was a singer and song writer as well, a more complete entertainer.

They called Chet Atkins "Mr Guitar".... In fact it should be Roy, he is the best !

Of all instrumental versions of this song,
This by far my favourite version. Second overall (Cash is number 1). Roy Clark is just amazing!

Me too. The best guitar version as it is in the original vein. Hank Marvin put a European twist on it but the old West is where it belongs. Go Roy!!!

Love this version. This was the very first song I learned how to play on guitar and I learned by playing Roy Clarks version over and over.
