@weegee205 uh, they won't do it remotely. only if you're stupid enough to update your Wii through Nintendo, you'll lose your homebrew though there's always a chance of it being bricked.
@weegee205 Not really.... They could, but have never done it as far as i'm aware.... The worst "problem" you can have for having homebrew is that nintendo always tries to remove it on the updates..... (Also, if you DO brick your wii on homebrew, it's mostly the user's fault)
@serverguyxx they did not i have the hombrew channel on my 4.3u wii its not hard just go on this link and follow instruction : youtube.com/watch?v=mgKYlmppxW4

Since you do seem to know some stuff about Homebrew, well... I have Priiloader, Bootmii (NOT boot2) , HBC, and some other loader channels on my Wii. I have used the ios58 installer. I have Wii System Menu 4.3 (first version). Now, reinstalling Homebrew would be no problem, but I updated using the official Nintendo online updating thingy, would it brick my wii? Oh, and I enjoyed your video as well.
How did you create/install/load the image? I'm trying a install I made on QEMU with an image created with Bochs but booting it on the Wii gives me "Disk I/O error / Replace disk and press any key"
TheJankyJungle is actually right, but as long as you're just referring to the Homebrew Channel I think the odds are better that you get hit by lighting then damage your Wii.
@ftwelve just so people wanting to do this now know, there is an update by nintendo that will either delete the homebrew channel, or break your wii. I don't think i will try it...
@thewii552 You are right, the 4.3 update does delete homebrew. However chances are it's only going to get rid of the HBC and leave the Wii well alone. This leaves you to just reinstall the HBC using a game hack... Unfortunately, the 4.3 update also permanently disabled the use of Bannerbomb. D:<
@ftwelve, It's indeed VERY hard to brick a Wii, because patches are made, and the new Letterbomb exploit doesn't use games anymore, so the moon would explode faster then a Wii getting bricked by Letterbomb.
Once you install the homebrew channel, you should look into a neat app called "bootmii." It's a program that allows you to back up your wii system memory in case you accidentally brick it.
@vancar6 I used to think that the homebrew channel couldn't harm my wii until I accidentally uninstalled my 0000001 title (Disc Channel title), with the homebrew channel. Title 00000001 is a title required to play wii games.
@vancar6 The actual homebrew its self wont damage (in this case it would probably be called a brick which is like getting a virus on your wii) your wii, But When you get the roms for emulators (if your a pirater) thats where you could have problems if you dont have the highest version of the homebrew
"because the nintendo wii IS at the forefront of numbercrunching and dataprocessing technology" (sarcasm)... god your a doofus for asking that question! and yes.... sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

I have two Questions:
1. Can run windows 7 on the wii ? or windows xp ?
2. Can run hackintosh on the wii ?
marvindingdong 1 year ago
@marvindingdong
1st: NO! Windows 7 would never run on a wii.
2nd: Yes you can run windows xp... but it will be kinda slow.

You can run a special version of Linux on the Wii, I think it's called Whiite.
No Ubuntu though...

@WiiThoko ok thanks for answer. :)
I do hack my wii when i have a new card reader
marvindingdong 1 year ago
@WiiThoko Well thats because ubuntu is WAY to resource hefty to run on the wii.
I had trouble running Ubuntu on less than 512MB of RAM. The wii has roughly 88 MB of RAM.
Gentoo linux would run fast on the wii though. Assuming you could work out any driver incompatabilities.

76A50 2 years ago
why 95 why not XP? or at lest 98?
NE0MEW 2 years ago
Windows 95 is DOS based, not the same for new windows.

well you could call this app wiidows 95
NE0MEW 2 years ago
if you want to open a file in dos you have to type out text in windows 95 you actualy have a cousor and can click shit windows 95 has a gui
zonemad96 2 years ago
You are very stupid, and you obviously know nothing about Windows. Even if XP was based on DOS (not NT) it wouldn't run on the wii's hardware.
Also, the app isn't Windows 95, it's DOS.

95 is more smaller file and run faster
