  • Pity that a geologist hasn't pointed out to Masdar that even if the rock above the oil field is impermeable, over time the C02 will leak out. There are many potentially viable emerging ways to trap C02 and take it out of the equation, but pumping it down into an oil field isn't one of them. Besides, C02 is a very valuable material, if used appropriately and pumping it down under an oil field really isn't the smartest thing to do with it!
