didn't know she is a cancer survivor and she's in that commercial..wow, this is just so great...also, she was Reba in PeeWee Herman..didn't know that either..
I remember the following night on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno showed a *gag* clip of what was happening at her feet as she searched for her speech. Essentially a whole bunch of random items fell out of her dress which ended with her handcuffs, badge, and gun. Following that skit, Jay then realized he was missing a joke to which Merkerson stepped out onto the stage and pulled a piece of paper out of her shirt. Jay's response was "It's still warm."
This was deffinantly one of the highlights of the evening. Merkerson is truely an underrated actress and her years of emmy snubs for Law & Order finally paid off. I also would love to see her Globes Speech if anyone has it.
I did a search in MS Live, the site gave the address which I could not include in this comment. I did a search in Miscrosoft Live with Lackawanna Blues, and found the speech that way. I just viewed it so hopefully it'll work for you all... I think she is fabulous and that she has a big heart. I admire her in Law and Order. I hope Lackawanna Blues will be available on DVD or VHS.
