Sleep Apnea is a serious issue. People who suffer from it snore really loud. It sounds like a grizzly bear is sleeping in your home. Like Hoopz said, 1 day Shaq stopped breathing in his sleep. That happens sometimes and If you don't get treatment for it, you're taking a risk of possibly dying in your sleep one day. Many people have sleep apnea. The oxygen mask might be uncomfortable at first, but once you get used to it, it's like putting on your shoes everyday.

Many big people have sleep apnea...I'm guessing prob 70% or more of NFL offensive and some defensive linemen for example. My bro has it and using the CPAP is so annoying to him. If I were Shaq I'd maybe try surgery first since he has the money and time, even though its not 100% effective.

My brother has sleep apnea and he is finding it very difficult to find a mask that is comfortable! He's 17 so maybe he's just not used to it but he really doesn't like the mask. The kind of mask he has though goes around his head and he has tubes. Was the kind that they tested Shaq with has tubes? Because if it doesn't I think my brother would find it more comfortable if it just went around his nose!

I've been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and it's hard to live with. The complications are very over whelming at times. Without the proper treatment, it makes it hard to hold a regular job without feeling exhausted the moment you punch-in for the day. Uh, for Shaq it's a bit different than most people because he's a tall guy so of course his organs will be strained at older ages, but most people will be around 6 ft so they just have to keep their weight down.
