IHola, I'm from Venezuela and my name is Henry and I have a record of those who were 78 rpm EthelSmith (Jingle Bells) and (White Christmas), is a little scratched, the day may cost today
Well up into the 50s and 60s Hammonds with and without Leslies were the mainstay of soap operas, if no theatre pipe organ was available. Many large radio stations began with the latter, but were happy to switch to the no-maintenance-ever-needed Hammond for budgetary and spatial reasons.
Comes across like a strange initiation / recruitment ceremony by some weird female cult with sub-dom shadings ... but still, they wouldn't even have to pay me to be the roadie for that band. They just don't make movies (or B3 players) like that anymore.
Quel enchantement que ce revoir cette prodigieuse belle femme qu'était Ethel Smith jouer au cours des années 50 aussi bien l'orgue électronique hammond
(je possède 2 33 tours d'elle en 25 cm, notamment de bonne musique de genre)
This isn't Tico Tico - I think it's By The Waters Of Minnetonka...

this recording is so crazy and well mixed, at 1:23 is that a real steam whistle or just the wurlitzer? I CAN'T TELL!
Hobbs360 1 year ago
@Hobbs360 and others:
1. It's not a Wurlitzer, it's a Hammond, and says so.
2. It's not a B-3, it's a model BC (no B-3s invented at this time).
3. No Leslie, that vibrato is coming from the organ.

Gotta love those organ shoes! Plus that overwrought vibrato (Leslie, right?).

This video might be more easily searchable if Smith's first name were spelled correctly.

Did she ever play with Lawrence Welk? Just seems to me she would have fit right in that show as a guest star. Man, she can play.

Sounds like theme music from a 1940s
radio soap opera, doesn't it?

For those curious the tune is called:"By the Waters of Minnetonka: an Indian Love Song" from the famous aquatic film "Bathing Beauty"
