Man, you fucking rock. Just saying, I've been trying to make it as a producer/DJ for almost 10 years now and I never stop learning from you. Ever. Keep these vids up man you're a great help.
@ellaskins, do you have a Facebook group or page or something? I need some advice on beginner dj kits, maybe you could post a video? cheers man, love the videos
and then, you play the second track. And you wait till the end of the second track and then you mix the beginning of the third track in with the second track. *YAWN* howiejjmnfhngg.
ur pitch bending technique tells me you've got a loooot of miles behind the decks... How come U do only tutorials for beginners and not playing arround internationally..
...Just a quick tought of mine :)) Many djs out there getting payed a whole lot of money to show basically nothing technical
great video talking about random mixing, but can I ask what the CD is that's covering the right deck. Image looks like a road sign for crossing the road in France. Sorry this is off topic and completely random in itself.
you are epic man... i really wanna mix but i just havent got the money to get equipment. what would you suggest as a pretty good inexpensive setup for a beginner? or even some advise on things i could do to prepare myself before worrying about the gear?
@modernwar2ghostrp you use the pitch changer knob thing till they match up, some new cdjs have bpm counters on them, that makes it easier, but its best to learn with 200s so your ear is tuned lol
wow, i would love to be able to do that!. i use producing software on the computer but ive always wanted to have a go at djing, looks fun!. cheers for the awesome vids mate.
your a genius I have learned alot from you I have only been mixing for about 2 weeks but I catch on pretty quick lol its still going to be along road I find its harder to scratch and mix than when I learned how to play the guitar
thank you so much for this tutorial! This is what our group does only we run two setups through each other and blend two styles. please let us know what you think! -Calico Chameleon
A man thanks for ur videos dnt stop making them they are very helpful for a young dj like me im just getting started so cn u make a video of all your equipment thanks
@jackknifecreations, true...quite uh difference. I tried uh real system on Halloween night. Last Halloween. Buddy of mine club gigs in jax. Let me take thuh helm 4 huh bit. But that's thuh thing, I'd like 2 get some worthy starter equipment or basically almost any equipment 2 use. But 4 thuh time being iPhone is my way 2 go. Besides it's good practice. But good point though.
:D This video made me happy. This is sort of how I mix, of course in my own style. but I love mixing and matching songs together. I actually have my first gig tomorrow here in Austin and I'm really looking forward to going out there and playing how I do instead of the cloned. I feel like the bass are my toys and I get to play. I mean these are our expensive toys, right?
I'm courious if u were still being picked on bout copyrights? I hope not. Keep doin what u do. Screw them! They made there cash when they sold thuh music. I'm learning quite uh bit. I'm using quixpin Dj on iPhone 3G. It's uh basic mixer but mixes good 2 me. Well, gotta practice. All Hail IPhone!!! By thuh way 4 any1 who wants 2 laugh, think bout it, my equipment fits in my pocket and saved hundreds. I can Dj walkin down thuh street. Can u? Mad props Dj ellaskins.
@Akillesefourtwenty yes its a great app, but do you think your ready if someone gives you a chance to mess about with a real CDJ / mixer? theres a big difference between software and the real thing.
@ChannelRVB Im a fellow Hardstyle lover myself, but no matter what music he deals with, J is still the best DJ Tutor on the planet! :D I quite enjoy some good softer styles like this also a bit.
dude i am just so amazed how tuned your ear is to the beats its going to take me ages to get that good to beat match always watching your vids much respect you need an mbe or something for your contributions to the dj world
guys I didn't mean a 1 piece lol I meant something like CD DJ IN A BOX with the numark NDX200.
I know its not the best, but I want something to play around and get used to it. Perhaps if I get better I would upgrade to a system like a pioneer or something :)
does this work for all genres. I have tried mixing it around like crazy playing happy hardcore and find it difficult. Can you please show this as a mess around with hardcore. Thanks.
@3S0JJD to help in the mean time, theres a program called mixed in key. it analyses your collection to get all the keys with a chart explaining how to use it..
