nice use of blend modes =D i'd play the demo but my computer doesn't take kindly to overuse of Gm's graphical capacity.. heck sometimes even has trouble starting an empty room ~.^ truly one of the most polished game maker titles though.. hmm.. did i say game maker enough? game maker 8D at yoyogames.. make games like this... in a few years ^w^'
@part2themovie Game Maker, by yoyogames though originally developed by Mark Overmars.. Its used for developing games, and has one of the lowest entry level in terms of programing understanding of most engines on the market. I sound insane in those last comments, and that was also before my new computer. heh. But yeah, just google it if your interested.
@Senakujin lol, thanks. I was just messing around though since you said Game maker 50 times ^_^ Have you ever tried darkbasic, or blitz, or unity? if so, how do they compare?
@part2themovie Mmm i've tried Unity out but the price point scared me off. To compare it to Unity, i would say GM is alot less portable in terms of what system can run it, Its also not meant as a 3D engine, that is not to say you can't make descent looking 3D games in it, but its alot more of an effort. As a 2D engine, its one of the best i've seen, GML is a fairly powerful language, and can always be extended with DLLs written in other languages. Pretty cheap too for what that is worth.
@part2themovie If i had to sum it up, game maker is a great way to get your feet wet in game development. A great way to learn object oriented programing as well, and if your looking to make something in 2D for windows or Mac, its one of your best bets. There are some scaling issues graphically, but overall its fairly quick to pick up and has a pretty large and helpful forum community if you run into issues.
It shouldn't be laggy, unless your computer isn't very good. This video lags because of my crappy recorder. If you know a good one (that's free :P) please tell me! :)
can always set the in-game fps low then speed up the recording once its done =P otherwise i know of a good recording software that compensates for frame rate and cpu, but its not free x.X'
Why isn't this game done yet? I'll tell you why: computer problem after computer problem causing loss of will power. JUST ONE MORE SONG LEFT!

Probably laggy but I'll try it anyways. Best effects I've seen in GM in a long time.
