  • Good guys bad ass car

  • LOL!

  • When was the announcer born?

  • Follow the good guys?

1969 Dodge Charger is a signature Bad ass car! :D

  • Love it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • O.o

  • 18 peoples drives chinese cars

  • now this is the best muscle car ever

  • Car commercials were actually GOOD at one time? WTF!!!!!!?

  • dodge charger: Duke boys approved!!

  • Maybe they will bring back the vinyl roof...

I think cars look naked without one.

  • LMAO Im going to go to the closest Dodge dealership, play this video, and ask if they still have this special

  • @number3665 haha

  • i bet if the people knew how much these things are worth now everyone would have bought 10 of these bitches! how much were they back then? $5,000 new? now they're worth that much even if they dont have an engine or tires!

  • @travishirey We have 71" and its all orignial its a 318 v8 or 5.2 liter with a 727 torque flight tranny which was one of dodges best transmissions and the thing is it runs better than any new car we've driven!

  • @travishirey you're forgetting inflation. 5000$ back then is around 35000$ today.

  • Dear santa...

  • Thumbs up, if when u go to search a 1969 Charger on Ebay and mostly all u see is GENERAL LEEs.

  • I like to go on political videos to start arguments with people about classic muscle cars.

  • Me, I care about results. I have a stock 383 4bl with headers, in my 1968 Charger. My speedo is calibrated and I can easily get 0-60 in 6 seconds. My 1971 Super Bee, stock except for mufflers and having a 440 automatic, I get 5.8. Someone claiming 4 seconds for these cars stock is lying, and someone claiming 7 or 8 seconds has a badly tuned or worn out car.

  • Realbogus, do you have a Mopar, or do you just sit on the sidelines and talk cr@p?

You're talking about SAE net vs gross, and there have been other ways to assess horsepower that have nominal ratings. Regardless, it is pretty well known that manufacturers downplayed horsepower figures in the late 60s to early 70s so that the insurance companies wouldn't freak. If you don't know about that history, you likely didn't live through it or don't read.

  • I'd like one.

Without orange paint. Without a flag. With a regular horn. Without an 01.

  • I don't want no ordinary 1969 Dodge Charger...........I want the General Lee!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks more like lucky duke instead of lucky luke or maybe its Lucky Luke Duke YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Whitewalls an option? No thanks, I'll pass!!

  • ill take one red, with a black top, red stripe sidewall tires

  • favorite chrysler product of all time

  • How about we just STFU with all that Republican-Democrat talk and just focus on the car?

    It's a really nice car.

  • @flatheadman1: Do you know who President Nixon is? The Republican guy who created the EPA, signed the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts? Have you bothered to check on your facts and see that envrionmental and safety regulations had bipartisan support until you people took over the party? I will take them as they are today: Cleaner, safer, more efficient, more reliable, better handling and faster. If you want to blame Democrats for that, be my guest.

  • i wonder if this car ended up jumping a ramp on the dukes?very possible.my 69 chevelle still looks better.i used to smoke mopars back in the late 80's early 90's on the streets of philly and south jersey.the good old days.lol

  • hmm... "the dodge boys"

    hmm... "the Duke boys"

bet they didnt see that comin back in 1969

  • If anyone is interested in seeing the red 69 Charger in the garage scene of the movie Green Hornet check out my channel!

    Mopar muscle!

  • buy silver coins and bars for investment...and musclecars for the cool factor

  • U ever noticed commercials these days talk only about MPG, How this car saves you on gas...how much MPG it gets..i have a 1978 Trans Am WS6 400 4speed and when i take her for a spin last thing i worry about is MPG. Dickhead car companys i buy a car to enjoy driving NOT thinking at all about MPG...

  • The cars of today are plastic , computerized shit. I just tapped a snowbank the other day, cracked my bumper LOL... ..The old cars were built to last !!!

  • I LOVE all American muscle cars from the '60s to early '70s.They had such orginal, cool designs. Today all cars look alike

  • @NoIDidunt10 What about 1979 Trans-Ams?

  • mustangs are better. sorry to rain on this page. i love charger, challengers, or any american muscle but i have to leave my vote on the mustang. <3

  • @Flathead....u r an ID--T!

  • I'LL TAKE ONE!!!! WAIT FOR ME DODGE BOYS!!

  • When rap was good.

  • Then it hits a random dirt pile in the middle of the road and then pauses and they say something witty.

  • we need more commercials like this today

  • i order one now xD

  • that car is soooooo!!! cool :p

  • lol were they trying to sell cars to little kids back then or what.... the cartoon made me smile

  • Cool, my cousin had a green one with white /rt stripes white leather.

  • My Ganddaddy was a Dodge Boy. We finally wore out his Stetson.

  • Any dealer still running this deal?

    I want to buy one

  • @sacheus naw sorry man we sold our last charger 42 years ago

  • @sacheus im friends with the owner of a dealer and he does amature commercials i wanna run a few of these old ones by him so we can do a revision of them i think it'd work great!!

  • @sacheus LOL, I could swear I heard the bias plies squeal at the 15mph it was doing around that corner :) If only.

  • Thank God I own one!!!

  • mostly old parts and rust.

  • Made in Argentina and Brazil, too

  • the dodge boys sounds a lot like the duke boys

  • I think the animator for this ad was the same guy who drew the Bullwinkle cartoons.

  • wow! i love dodge Charger 1969

  • I got passed on the way to work this morning by an overzealous Toyota Prius driver. I just laughed, because I'm quite sure he had reached his top speed of 80 mph.

  • this is the best

  • The 1969 Dodge Charger and the 1967 Pontiac GTO are the gods of muscle.

  • @airsoftmaniac51 KING and QUEEN of muscle's :) charger wont be a real charger if it aint black painted and a great V8 HEMI :P

  • That was the last and only cool car Dodge ever made

  • best car ever

  • Varnalle tarp and WH-ite WH-alls WH-eels

  • man i hate how the dukes of hazards movie destroyed so many of these. And many that werent destroyed got the ugly paint job from it.

  • @chevyman5436 yeah I read that over 300 were destroyed during the filming of the tv series. I'm not sure how many were wrecked in the movie. Those Hollywood dbags can't put a classic car in a film without destroying it. We should storm their mansions and torch their Ferraris.

  • @bwtanner77 Amen.I was appalled when i found out how many chargers they trashed to make a stupid ass TV series. Its almost like hunters driving an animal to extinction, and for what?

  • @IwontConform They destroyed 222 or so to make the series, but because of the series thousands were saved and restored. You cannot ignore that factror. If not for the series people would have said, "18 year old car in a barnm, crush it."

  • @chevyman5436 world could be better without dorks of hazzard. :(

  • @chevyman5436 Agreed. The special effects guys got the cars to run so flat through the jumps by filling the trunks with concrete, and some of those cars still can be seen in junkyards in Covington, GA, where the series was filmed.

Some 300 '68-'70 "B" bodies gave their lives for that piece of shit show.

  • @moparmonster1965 i thought it was filmed in california. a few miles from where M*A*S*H was filmed. and i heard only 23 were destroyed

  • @amyhuk Not according to what I read. And the real number of cars destroyed was pretty high, which means that it's not exactly easy to restore one of those cars if parts aren't be reproduced and NOS parts are too expensive.

  • @chevyman5436 I nearly cried when I saw the outtakes, in which many chargers were crashed! =(

  • good timesssss.....

  • And now the Dodge boys are just like the high price boys as they charge more on the New charger and challenger above owner's affordibality!!

  • mmm-ba mmm-ba mmm-ba mmm-ba mmm ba Ba BA!

  • wonder what this chargers fate was?

  • @rawhemi i always wanted to own a classic yank but let me tell you this,my mate i worked with owned a 1969 prostreet mustang 480hp,1951 prostreet ford panelvan, and another friend had a prostreet camaro 500hp,the mustang felt slow and did not take off same goes for the camaro, the newer yanks are fast another friend had a corvette c4 6spd manual with custom exhaust and filter, damn that car scared the life out of me i have never wanted to go fast in anything again

  • @TerryMMA85 I don't want a muscle car because of speed! Almost any modern car could outrun an old Charger on a circuit, I admit. I want a 68/69 charger because it's loud, made of proper metal and looks like it's going to eat your children.

  • @rawhemi Run off a list of current showroom stock modern cars that will go over 200 mph. It's a short list or the cars cost more than most people pay for their house. In 1969 you could buy a Daytona or Superbird for less than 5 Grand with a Hemi. 200 + mph from the showroom floor to top speed with no mods needed. What a great time it was in 69. It took Ford and Chevrolet years to approach that level. These cars changed very little from the road to NASCAR racing mostly suspension.

  • @TheGunslinger5854

yes but remember that was money back then a hell of alot of it!

but yes you could by a stock car put a roll cage in it and alot of tires and wheels and your ready to go thats why the slogan race on sunday sell on monday came about!

  • @gunny556fly I agree about the money but it would be almost impossible to build a car like that on your own for the same amount. Ask Richard Petty. I remember going to races back in the late 60s and drivers were still driving some of the cars to the track. You really had to have a sponsor or a rich Daddy to have a car hauler back then. NASCAR has totally beaten the stock slam out of NASCAR, too many rules and too little racing. I'd like to see the last ten races go to IROC format.

  • @TheGunslinger5854

yeah i forgot pit crew racing harnes and saftey suits oh yeah and gas!

  • @rawhemi

    false

  • VANALLLLL!!!!

  • a friend of mine had one of these, it was fast as hell but sadly the thing handled like an elephant on rollerskates! i drive a 55 caddy now (a car that was MEANT to handle like an elephant on rollerskates). . . .yup. . . sorry eco freaks dont drive ANYTHING made after 1959. . . . .

  • @filthbomb thats what im talking about, you can drive old cars for the rest of your life and still wouldn't create as much emissions as it does to create a brand new car.

  • My first car. Bought in 1978. Now that I'm 50, I would like to buy one for a sunday car. The "Dukes of Hazzard" destroyed so many, they're expensive and hard to find. Style and power all the way....

  • I bet God approves of these cars if he exists.

  • Look what you could by in 1969 as opposed to the bland, dull overpriced ugly cars today!

  • If that commercial came on TV, I'de go right down to the "Dodge Boys" and buy a 100 for $3000 each, all with 426's --- store them in a vaccum sealed bags for 40 years, keep 3 or 4 for myself and sell the rest of them--- and then I'de have more money than Bill Gates... If we only knew...

  • I want one so badly.

  • A magnificent vehicle.

  • i like how they aare riding rams lol

  • didn't these guys do the super sugar crisp commercials?

  • Was that animaion Al Brodax's, the one who did Cool McCool and Beatles' Cartoons? Take care, God bless...

  • best cars ever made

  • i want live in the 60 s 70 s and 80s with the 67 shelby 67 camaro 66 toronado 67 eldorado 68-70 charger and challengers with the playmouth the old chevy s...

  • Your a dick

  • charger rules

  • You inna heapa trubble boy

  • 69 charger 4 life

  • They dont make commercials like they useto!

  • car makers cant build cars like that nomore because there all dumb asses. and thats why there all going broke.

  • @flatheadman1

This is incorrect. They "don't make em like they used to" due to EPA - tree hugger ,save the planet, emissions regulations. There is no one to blame but DEMOCRATS.

  • @OneThousandWatts

You speak truth.I hope they listen to you.

  • youre an idiot. most people out there just prefer more fuel efficient low emission cars - nothinig to do with political parties. besides that just means more fuel for us.

  • @OneThousandWatts

Don't be such a fool. If it weren't for those awful emissions regs, NO ONE could live in the LA basin, NYC, or any other metro area. I went to the NHRA Winternationals in 1970 and I literally did not know the San Gabriel mountains were right near the track due to the pollution. So, thank me, a Democrat, for sparing your kid from having emphysema. BTW, I own a '70 Boss 302 and drive a Dodge Magnum R/T; they're both very fast, but only one gets 27 mpg hwy.

  • @OneThousandWatts they keep telling me about global warming - i think thats bulls**t because we have had 3 very cold winters and a lot of snow related chaos in england

  • @OneThousandWatts haha or we could go the republican way and ignore the fact that we'll run out of oil soon enough and then just be fucked. Democrats = alt. energy. = smart

  • @snowman4839 We have enough oil for over 100 more years. Have fun recharging your Nissan Leaf for 12 hours every 70 miles. The gas you save, I waste.

  • @Srd1126 haha alright. Where'd you get that fact? The back of a cereal box? So what happens in 110 years? All I'm saying is that we need to invest in better alt. energy instead of better drills or paying more to OPEC. Then we won't have to fuck with the middle east again for no reason. If we found a way to use cold fusion, the energy crisi would be solved. We could even travel to other planets and solar systems. We need to invest in that.

  • @snowman4839 read something besides Newsweek and watch more than MSNBC. There is 100 years worth in the oil sands of Alberta alone, never mind oil shale and better drilling. In 1973 we were supposed to have run out of oil by 2000, since then we pumped more than we knew we had in 1973 and have more proven reserves than in 1973. If you think fusion is a good investment, invest in it, no one is stopping you. Put yiour 401(k) into it, you may retire rich!

  • @Srd1126

100 years worth of oil only in Alberta? To provide for what? The whole world's demand in oil?

    Seems right.

  • @HeavenFort To provide for whomever wants to buy it-oil is all over the world and there is still plenty, we just have to look for it. DRILL, BABY, DRILL! Conservation never found a drop of oil.

  • @Srd1126

Drill baby, drill? say that to bp...

  • @HeavenFort why not? They drill and bring us the oil we need, Or would you rather walk everywhere and buy only products made and food grown within 10 miles of your house? DRILL, BABY, DRILL!

  • @Srd1126 i bike so can you

  • @OneThousandWatts obamarama wants everyone in a yugo, so you can pay your taxes! So they can spend, spend, spend, as much money as they can get from you. biden is also a liar who is runnin' his mouth about how all businesses should be taxed. The whole thing makes me sick. They figure out ways of getting your money through regulations.

  • @OneThousandWatts All your lightbulbs are incandescent?

    You only use single-paned windows?

You turn away at the sight of solar panels and windmills?

  • @OneThousandWatts What a fucking imbecile. You're a disgrace to the human race.

  • @OneThousandWatts - I am glad they don't make'm like they used too... Shit brakes, shit tires, shit suspension, over inflated hp numbers, All noise signifying nothing. They sure looked nice, but that's it. Oh, you can blame the democrats all you want, but all that statement does is prove you are a myopic sumnabitch.

  • @realbogus just do what they did in tokyo drift........ RB26DETT twin turbo straight-6 from a Nissan Skyline GT-R into a 1967 Ford Mustang...... import tuned mustang. SWEET. good looking on the outside. and performance all around.

  • @realbogus Over inflated HP numbers? Are you saying they had too much Horsepower or they lied about how much HP they had and that they had less? In actuality a lot of engines had more hp then listed because the HP of your vehicle had quite the effect on insurance costs.

  • @dobadriver - I am saying most numbers were lies. First off, the testing methods were lies - compare SAE Gross to Net and you will see what I mean. Very few engines from the 60s put out the numbers they were claiming, and a few, yes, put out a lot more. 427 Chevy, 427 Ford, 426 Hemi - REAL engines with REAL numbers. Ford 390, 428, Chevy 409, Mopar 383, dogs with inflated numbers. (let the bitching commense)

  • @realbogus

Regardless of what you think 383's had, my 66 300 with a 383 2bbl was labled at 290HP and I did a quarter in 14's and 0-60 in about 5.8 to 6.2 depending on how badly I smoked the tires. So i wouldn't call that a dog. Those numbers are better then any new " muscle car " with a V6 around the same hp.

And i agree the way they tested cars were lies. They fuckin smoke the tires for 40 feet then tell everyone a Hemi gets 6.5 seconds 0-60.

  • @dobadriver - I would ask for time slips, because otherwise, it doesn't math out. Unless you were running a Demon 2bbl and a modified 383. Stock 383s just didn't have the balls. They were truck engines, really. All torque and no revs. Add in that most cars from the 60s were seriously traction limited... So, put slicks on a mildly modified 383, yea, it would those numbers. My 92 Vette does 0-60 in 5.4 or so and the quarter in 13.2.

  • @realbogus

We are talkin muscle cars here. I didn't need to hit 7000rpm to get max power out of my car. Torque is what makes your car move. My 3604bbl cordoba ran a bit slower then the 300 and all I did was take the lean burn off. I'd say the Cordoba probably had around 220-230hp but compared to a lot of today's cars its the ass load of torque that made them move.

  • @realbogus You guys may not know but up until 1971... h.p. ratings were measured off the flywheel and not at the drive wheel.

  • @label1877 Well... your half right. SAE did change the horse power calcutions, no question. How they did it wasn't by measuring rear wheel horse power. SAE Net is still done at the flywheel, except it requires all engine driven accessories to be attached, an air filter and a full exhaust system. In the old gross HP days, they didn't even have to run the water pump!! Open exhaust! Open air filter! Yea, SAE Net changed everything.

  • @dobadriver The guy's a nitwit. Overinflated horsepower numbers. Hilarious. I have the road tests from that period. 426 hemi rated at 425 horsepower. Bawaa haa ha haa! He bitches about bad brakes, tires and suspension, but seems to forget it was the 60s! My guess is he can't handle a car that requires some skill to drive, so somehow they are all shit. Someday, some fool like him will call his vette primitive, if he in fact even has one!

  • @OneThousandWatts

Oh, what's this? Another partisan moron?

Insurance was the biggest reason for the demise of the muscle car, and they DO make them like they used to . . . but better! If you don't believe me, then you haven't been to your local Chevy, Ford, or Dodge dealer.

  • @flatheadman1 the 2011 "cars" are not made for men, even the new "camaro" and all that plastic shit... period

  • hay madkat367. your not the onlyone

  • I want to have sex with daisy duke.

  • @madkat367

Only if you buy the Full trim package...

  • why can't they make cars like that anymore?

  • I bet this was a super bowl commercial back in the time.

  • An American classic...Im not a fan of the vinyl top and whitewalls..that was a fad of the era I guess

  • Wow! The styling of the '68-'70 Dodge Chargers are timeless..

I remember when these first came out! Every year, at new-car time, we'd go to all the dealerships in Long Beach, Cal.

These Chargers just blew me away--even though I was a huge fan of GM styling at the time. Dramatic, sleek--looked like it was ready to take off into the stratosphere. Still one of my favorite car designs, along with '63 Vette, '63 Riviera, '66 Toronado, '67 ElDorado, '64 T-Bird conv., '69 Camaro,,,LUV the 60s !

  • The duke boys were the villain of the show. They were alcoholics who committed a series of burglaries and armed robberies all around hazard county.

  • And the Charger is the perfect villains car. Brutal and evil.

  • OMG BEST ADVERT EVER

  • Vanishing point.

  • @eddiesteele

    "Vanishing point".

Uh, I think you're referring to the Dodge Challenger.

  • @blackandgold51 You`re the American expert, I trust you, I stand corrected.

  • wowow they make a GOOD autocar and design it so it look a nice one but they go to the media mans and he make it a bad look by making a BAD adverts for television.

He bad bad advert man he make a car look a good inset

    ёу ливе ин а дреамворлд

  • I owned a used White Hat Special 1969 Dodge Charger from 1980 to 1985. DAMM, I wished I wouldn't have sold that car!!

  • Does anyone besides me find it ironic that this car is known for being the villains car....most notably from Bullitt (even if this is a '69 & they drove a '68)?

All bad ass people drive this car :)

  • not true though, the duke boys werent villians

  • Yes, you strike a good argument. But were they not portrayed as vigilante's? I never really new where they stood on the whole thing, only saw a few episodes lol

  • well their uncle was in the moonshine business.

And the duke boys were in on it too

    But that was it.

    they were all good people

the law was on their tail about it (according to the story for years) but the chief of the police the boss) was often known to be corrupt and steal and do bad things.and the boys would interfere and stop him.. he would lie about it and try to get them arrested because of it and often use the moonshine as additional charges against them that was pretty much the main idea

  • Ah, I see. Well thank you for that insight :)

  • i want a dodge charger

  • The General Lee

  • The best looking car ever made.

  • @WileERobby Why Hasn't This Gotten Enough Thumbs Ups!!??

  • @WileERobby i WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME CHOOSING THIS, 65 RIVIERA, AND 66 IMPALA.

  • @WileERobby what about the GTO ??!

  • Yeah man my favorite car but its realy hard to find a charger 69' in the Netherlands but i'll try it's my dream car

  • hoe oud ben jij?

  • So, which was the rarer Charger to own an R/T or an SE? The SE sounds like a nice version of the Charger to own, too, especially with a stock 440 HP V-8 engine.

  • Cool. The great cars of the 60's and 70's had personality...not so with today's clone cars.

  • @Harry44Callahan2 I dunno, my 08 Jeep Liberty has a fair amount of personality, and you won't mistake it for any other brand. =) But yeah, I know what you mean. Can't wait to get the 68 Fury back on the road, but nothin' beats a 69 Charger.

  • @Harry44Callahan2 60 more than 70s

  • lol @ 15 year old Internet tough guys.

  • @spamanator666 lol so true i was 1 day old when this car came out!
