  • 7 PEOPLE HAVE NO BROTHERS!!!!!

  • absolutely amazing

  • There's so much truth to this. I live in a small town in Nova Scotia and everything he's saying I've lived through over here. You don't have to grow up in a slums of America to know how this feels.

  • @mildred7 really? how is it in nova?

  • @eddierob It's a hate love relationship living in this province. It's poor and there's a lot of ignorance and intolerance in some groups, but in others it's a wonderful little province the rest of the country forgot about. Kinda like it that way you know?

  • my kind of black.

  • @haitipd Wow!

  • This is it right here.

  • This track is harsh!! STR8 DOPE!!

  • SHAD, Klae Green, and Blazeline, best hip hop out of london ontario, good to see them get some recognition

  • ONTARIO YEEE!!

  • wow! Shad is too real

  • Some of the best writing in rap in a long time.

  • one of my favourite rappers. He should be wayyyyy more famous

  • @Classified2D if he becomes famous, he becomes mainstream and when your in the mainstream business, they corrupt you

  • never heard of this cat until today.. This dude is NICE!!! WOW!!!!!

  • Sometimes simple music videos are the best you don't need high budget videos about sex and drugs.

  • @SOOPERNEILAN more like philosorapper

  • @bpmcgough so he's a dinosaur that spits fire?

  • @Critical2kx Toronto*

  • @DVKJROC London*

  • Ima fan!.............Because he's positive. Kudos to SHAD

  • 7 people are fans of wiz khalifa

  • @humdahum19 His shit was good until Rolling Papers...

  • Shad is definitely one of my favorite rappers.. i've been listening to him for a few years now. i really liked the beat from his song "keep shining" and i wrote a track over its instrumental.. its "Young Luns - Aspirations". its got a real hip-hop/motivation type feel to it.. check it out and let me know what you think.. reppin' columbus ohio. i also have a few other tracks.. follow me on twitter @Lunsbird if you like my music. peace

  • Oh my god, I just found this song from a parody of Rebecca Black's "Friday" of all things.

This is some of the most amazing flow I've ever heard. So rough, so true, so...genius. Pure lyrical genius. I can't believe I haven't heard of this cat before...so unbelievably raw

  • @SOOPERNEILAN

    PHILOSORAPTOR!!!!

  • @oromos99 hahahaahahahaha omg i love step brothers

  • @oromos99 PHILOSORAPPER.

  • Dont worry shad i think black is really cool! :D

  • Its a shame that this song only got 146k+ views... should spread the word of this song , shad truly is a great artist.

  • You honestly can't compare any other artist out there to Shad. He truly is on a whole new level of hip hop or underground rap. Call it what you want. whatever you wish to call it. Just know that this real and no one else out there can compare to the poems that come out of this mans mouth.

  • @Z4chSh4ck There are a lot of people who are just as good as Shad.

Don't get me wrong, Shad is brilliant, but he's not the only brilliant rapper out there.

  • i wish you could like something an infinite amount of times

  • if u like this listen to my music , canadian hip hop.

  • ITS A SHAME THIS DOESNT HAVE A MILLION VIEWS HELP sHAD GET A MILLION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Masterpiece.

  • I Kind of wish i was black because they're beautiful people

  • @UselessAccountSquare Be proud of who you are, black or not, before black we're still human with the same potential, it's your choices that make a difference.

  • i remember hearing this like 2 years ago and dreading the day hypefags got a hold of shad. somehow they havent, so good.

  • @pimpzilla13 shad isnt exactly appealing to the douchbags that think hip POP like wiz khalifa and lil wayne is good. hes a little, okay a lot more intelligent for them to keep up with. so dont sweat about them jumping on his bandwagon

  • @frinensi555 i couldnt have said it better my firend

  • Dope.

  • Thank you! Absolutely Beautiful, and well over due!!!!

  • why dislike this song... really?

  • 1 LUV TO CANADA

  • A great track here. Crazy how I've NEVER heard of Shad down here in the US (NY and ATL) and I was a dee jay for many years playing this same style of hip-hop. The way the "industry" carves up territories and throttles the music that's released only to certain markets kills me!

For those arguing over the validity of the content of Shad's lyrics, don't waste our time. Just because you've never walked in his shoes doesn't mean that this foul shit hasn't happened. Go write your own rhymes.

  • Where have i been to just hear this dude's music now???!!! SMH

  • It's a shame that this dude is not topping the charts. Kinda makes me sad about Hip Hop.

  • one of my fav shad songs, helped make me a fan

  • Deep!

  • wow ! a rapper with lyrics AND purpose ! and he's talented ! I must be dreaming ...

  • @25AInMR25 dude there are 1000s of good rap songs out there even today...just gotta explore

  • shad may be my one of my top 5 rappers

i thought i was the only clean rapper out here

  • that's impressive that shad lyrics has no curse words.. Many rappers now a days can't rap without using curse words in their lyrics...

  • Too dope.

  • Don't complain if he isn't "Popular" I'm sure the last thing he wants is to be "Popular" like the mainstream rappers, because they are ALL SELLOUTS. Shad is keepin' it real and not conforming to the rubbish all the others need to put out to make a few extra dollars.

  • Deep , and those violins got me...live is no fun!

  • I LOVE FUCKING MEN, and yea im a dude

  • This guy has got insane flow, and is a lyrical poet. Great song, great rapper.

  • Way to good to not be popular. Lil wayne sucks

  • Shad isn't a rapper,

    he's a philosopher

  • @SOOPERNEILAN

    Hes both.

  • @SOOPERNEILAN

    hes a rapper that philosophizes

  • @illmatic8988 or philosopher who raps

  • @DarkHumorist

Anybody can be a philosopher. He's a rapper who philosophizes. Don't ignore his skill as a rapper.

  • @SOOPERNEILAN Actually hes a poet you fucking retard

  • @mabus2007 chill chill chill chill chilllllll

  • I just stumbled on this dude and right now Shad is the best thing out period!

  • @tommygunz37

    look up more songs bruh

    Shad is str8 fire

  • I'm a white guy: Brother :)

  • Man SHAD is the illest dude ever. He keeps it more than real. Mad respect for you homie.

  • who the fuck would dislike this?

  • I think we can safely say that this is one of the greatest tracks in hip hop history. Seriously!

  • Beautiful sample, made to a hooooot beat and a rapper who spits with soul, energy and realness.

    Great!

  • I love my brothers, that song is really good.. no.. it isnt only good, this is perfect song of love to brothers.

  • I loveee black people, (: discrimination is the most stupid thing ever. Love<3

  • This guy is from London, ON..

There's legit no discrimination in London.

  • @lolwhyyoumadth

    what the fuck!?

  • @Cappolicious ???

I understand the song is about North America's views on and stereotypes associated with Black people, however, London Ontario Canada is not a city known for such acts as: Supremacist group beatings, police brutality, segregation, or fights related to race. There is legit no discrimination displayed.

  • @lolwhyyoumadtho Racisim, happens everywhere, I live outside of London Ontario, I have some Black and Asian friends, and I know for a fact that they have been beat up because they are different, because they are coloured, and it makes me sick. a group of them got ganged up and beat up. and that is an example of my friends who have gone through this, there are plenty more stories than the ones i can tell you.

  • @hbctvi They definitely didn't. The only race related beating there has been in London is Arab vs. White, and they're the same fucking race. You make it sound like Canada is America when it clearly isn't, especially in a city of fucking 300,000 people... lmao.

  • @lolwhyyoumadtho you base your evaluation of Canadian race crimes on London, ON...Come on son most of the dudes I no think London is a village...There are enough in cities like Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver...I no of personally some guys who beat to death a white guy for walking into their hood in Ottawa cuz he was white...lets be real now

  • @yoyoyoside Where did I say that it didn't happen in Canada? I just said it never happens in London.

  • @lolwhyyoumadtho are you seriously saying that you think just because people don't hear about it, it doesn't happen... you seriously need to re-evalueate the way you think. Why the fuck do you think that the only things worth talking about happen in america, fucking ignorance!

  • @hbctvi Have you ever been to London you fucking idiot? My viewpoints are based solely on observation, and I can say that I've NEVER seen a hate crime committed against Black people in London, or even HEARD about it. You're claiming that I'm ignorant? If anything, whites are bullied more in London than fucking anyone by the Arabs, and Asians being beat up? Are you serious? Stop trying to make isolated incidences into fucking concrete evidence, the only group that has been targets was the gays.

  • @hbctvi Pardon my interjecting but you don't know what you're talking about. Racial violence is the most isolated type of violence nowadays, and no one would DARE beat up a black man, because they'd be labelled a racist. And I'm asian, and while I take a shitton of jokes, they're just that, they're never serious.

  • @Shrimpgoldfish

No man, blacks fight whites all the time. I dont know who you think youre speaking for but I will tell you right now black people dont just fall under a "no strike" umbrella. You're mistaken. To assume you could beat up the avergae black dude is probably assuming too much already

  • @KillahB89 That's what I'm saying.

  • 8 people weren't watching.

  • This guys simply amazing.

Oh and Canadians don't get too big for your britches, we still got Donald Glover here in the states.

  • @idkyajushrulz Who?

  • this guy makes me proud to be canadian... and that we got good beer.

  • SHAD, what a beautiful human. Tenacity, tactfulness and talent.

  • who is that pianist ?

  • seriously I think those 8 people actually missed the LIKE button

  • canada.. nuff said.

  • @Critical2kx realness is universal.

  • @Critical2kx Division => Discrimination

  • canada.. nuff said.

  • This is amazing. It's so exciting to listen to a song that has an actual message, let alone a positive one.

  • 6 people are deaf

  • Mom: DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!

    Me: ugh yeah, one sec

    Mom: NOW!!

Me: huh? what? sorry got lost in these lyrics...

  • @WTDproductions10 unoriginal comments, not funny or cool.

  • dear lights, thank you for introducing me to the guy. amazing times a billion.

  • the whole song is sooo awesome, but the end with those violins have literally blown my mind . Now,as you all think i hope , Shad is one of the best rappers i have ever heard.

  • One of my favorite songs of the past couple years. The message is so on point. Not just for black youth who it is directed at but for everyone. It is so easy to become conditioned by the negatives and stereotypes that are put forth in society and to fall into the trap of limiting our selves and believing them to be true. When what we need to be true to is ourselves no matter who we are or where we come from. We need to do what we do what our passions lead us to and not try to match a certain img

  • fuckin' brilliant

  • shad was voted best canadian rapper at the 2011 junos.....drake cried to lil wayne and had to suck his dick for 2 hours just to feel better

  • @GreenDevil1989 lol i believe this...

  • Stop arguing and enjoy this very talented mans music

  • @calends actually their is political rap but they havnt labeld it that yet & most secular/mainstream music is against the word of God so theres no need 4 a athiest genre of music

  • Who is the sample from?

  • @Xolin11 brother brother brother by the isley brothers

  • Wat song did he sample here?

  • @D1390able brother brother brother by the isley brothers

  • who dislikes this?! i'm not even mad, i just feel bad for them...

  • @MrBlackwings87 taylor swift and rebecca black fans

  • He sounds like early common, I like his flow.

  • I must confess as a old schooler who grew up on the 80's & 90's hip-hop & rap i said many of times today's rap & r&b fucking sucks. but i made a comment on another video and apparently this youngster said theres plenty of great rappers today.i said who souljah boy, gucci mane, lil b.,flocka waka? he wrote me and told me a few and this was one. I must say this guy shad is a cold ass brother.damn where has this type of music been? i have too go out and look for this shit monday after work.thanks

  • @str8outtatexas1 I recommend listening to Classified, J-bru, Mic Boyd, and hilltop hoods. They are all really great artist in this genre.

  • @str8outtatexas1 check out blu & exile's record "below the heavens" it'll get you there

  • @str8outtatexas1 heres some really good ones. Wu Tang clan, a tribe called quest, Cunnin Lynguists, nas, anything from infinite, and plenty more. Hip hop aint dead its just underground;)

  • i'm so glad that i just heard this song. i'm victim to many stereotypical comments and racist jokes just because i'm black so its great to hear a song that makes me feel slightly liberated from it. even if its just a little bit, i'm glad to be a little bit mentally free

  • @pwnage51 i love you man! (no homo) black people are so sick dude !!! im white btw

  • @pwnage51

Haha, why should u let take u down, by some (alot) BRAINDEAD MOTHERFU***** ? :)

  • @pwnage51 i hear ya brah, i'm not even black but the lyrics to this song are damn inspiring! stay frosty man. just turn up the speekers and lay back.

  • Comment removed

  • @pwnage51 fuck racism. one love

  • the shackle are loose but it hard to cut chains that are attached at the roots

  • shad is the only rapper i listen to!

  • Why do they hate when rappers get intellectual?

  • real rap

  • amazing song...

  • seriously....all rap is considered hip hop...it started in da parties...so to define hip hop as self righteous conscience spit is being ignorant to the fact of the musics origin...but even with that said....shad is in many ways the truth beneath the lies..he is a lyricist in its purest form...but should not be categorized as hip hop...just a rappers rapper...a true emcee..

  • NAS and Shad sound alike sometimes

  • shad k go h.a.m, hard as a mothaf***a

  • First time listening to this guy, I usually can't listen to someone as goody goody as him (type of guy that wont watch a movie unless it's rated R), but his flow is smooth.

  • @garybatesrsc he's not "goody goody". He is intelligent. He is thoughtful. He is wise. He speaks the truth.... he resembles a lot about African culture to be honest. People need to just put down their facades and grow up

  • @KillahB89 agreed its alot of wisdom in black culture that never gets noticed

  • @stillmatic16 yes its very sad. Africans are such proud people, but slavery, capitalism and pure selfishness in the Americas has truly taken its toll on our people as a whole. Our image and own self respect has been disparaged beyond belief. Despite all the craziness you see on tv about blacks still in Africa - at least they still can hold on to their own dignity in most parts. In America that dignity was taken long ago and some of us still havent found it.

  • @KillahB89 Capitalism isn't a "moral" enterprise and doesn't favor one race over another and it doesn't need a poor working class to function. This practice of calling selfish white people "capitalists" because they like "capital" is rather silly. Capitalism is present in black barbershops, black record labels, black schools (universities like Howard), - black businesses in general. Are these people capitalists too? Were the Africans that sold other Africans into slavery capitalists?

  • @calends

I never stated I was against capitalism or thought it was moral issue. Its kinda pointless to get into a long winded discussion about the intricacies of capitalism and its a effect on the African American population though.

Becuase thats what I was referring to. Black in the Americas

  • 777 likes. the red batteries , anyone remember those?

  • i want the whole world to listen to this man, stop hearing (not listening) those so called rappers who are no more than an image which is sold globaly and has everyone so mind-numbed

  • Shad was droppin' serious knowledge on this song.

  • Now... THIS IS A RAPPER!!

  • @IamTheScorchedEarth Naw bro. Lil Wayne is a rapper. SHAD is a true EMCEE!!! =D

  • @IamTheScorchedEarth let me correct you... this is an EMCEE :)

  • awesome song.

  • no. Shad is doing it big for music.

  • shad is doing it BIG for canadian rappers

  • My favorite rapper!!!!

  • I saw Shad today and had no idea he was so talented and the sweetest guy ever....much love.

  • I really hope Shad collaborates with The Roots at some point.

  • This dude is slowly becoming a favourite artist. Can anyone let me know any Albums I should get my hands on?
