  • Whew, awesome stuff!!

  • indeed a big +5 but where did the cosy setting cherokee maggie go? I still love that song and it's great to see her perform so well at such a young age, I can't play these things but I love hearing them.

  • I would love to hear her play some classical music. Vivaldi would be great.

  • Justin and Cory are both great pickers on anything. I've heard Cory play guitar and he rocks. Justin plays dobro, fiddle, guitar and a mean kazoo

  • You did not just write "evented" and "intire"! LMFAO! I think you are right, though. Still, Cory is a helluva player.

  • sooooooo cool this girl is awesome

  • wow

  • EKE............PROTOGY...and yes shes chanaling chris thile..another one.

  • Very nice Sierra!!!

  • Real clean planing. when is she touring Arkansas or Missouri?

  • Bango Player can Play aall of them. Teaches! I have watch him sents he was 6 years old. Good job to all. and good luck

  • I don't like much mandolin playing, but this is great!

  • Does anyone know the name of this one? (It sounds like one I've heard Nickel Creek play)

  • Tnx jbench1 for answering my query (see caption for answer)

  • Google tells us 'Justin Moses' plays the banjo in Sierra's group.

  • Without Scruggs nobody would even be talkin about Cory right now. Scruggs evented almost an intire style, which is the foundation of every bluegrass banjo player, including Cory. Earl never tried to play anything but what he did, he could have easily learned a different style if he wanted to, but he showed a clear disliking to the alternative, melodic, and barely said anything about Reno.

Don't confuse the quality of the playing with the quantity of the notes, the differences are distinct.

  • as true as that is that does not make three finger style easy. and guys like cory are continuing to branch it out and add depth to an already wonderful style with accents and bends and even harmonics.

  • Indeed, as a banjo player myself (well I try, by the help of the Lord), I know it can be very difficult, and its also very difficult adding to the style as well as Cory.

My post was directed to the guy who said Cory made Earl look bad. Just saying the banjo world wouldn't be much without Earl.

  • oh! sorry! yes i definately agree

i play mando, guitar anbd bass and let me say i feel like an idiot when i hold a banjo because unlike the ones i play it is so NOT linear! so thumbs up to banjo players!

  • Haha, its cool.

Its funny you should say that because I can't do much with a mandolin even though thats the instrument I started on, LOL. Thankfully banjo is my favorite instrument so I have no problem sticking with it.

So do you play in a band?

  • It's a moot point, as this is Justin Moses on banjo and not Cory Walker...he didn't come along til after this.

  • Who's that on the banjo?

  • I thought she was gonna scream at that instrument mic haha..she hit it like 3 times. Killer performace though

  • but she seems to take it easy

  • I think her stage performing skills are quite a bit better now...no more mic malfunctions lol.
