F-Zero X: Jack Cup Expert Part 1 (White Cat)

I can't beat expert, I'm playing this game on an emulator and I always slide when turning at high speeds, losing a great deal of speed. I guess that an analog controller is necessary for making those turns without sliding, 'cause the freaking keyboard detects turning as if I'd be pressing the stick to the max.

Because the track twists like it does there, you can actually get air off of the little flared edge on the side there. I was going too fast, so I lost that traction. It can actually happen on Silence where you get going so fast that you completely fly off the track.

That aside, you did a good run. I can't even get beyond 8th on Mute City Expert yet (only just bought the game on VC) so I feel as if I needed some pointers; what's the trick for the successful turn through the tunnel without sliding anyway?

Well the idea there is to lead into the turn a lot earlier. If you start on the outside of the track and start turning right more on the straightaway (just BARELY tilting the joystick) you'll be able to zip past. Now if you doubletap either trigger it does a quick sidestep thing, which helps too, but it'll ultimately slow you down. Only do that on super tight turns, not ones where you slide just because of how fast you're going.
