I've been to 11 ASmith concerts, I'm 17 and my dad got me into them. After a book they wrote came out, he stopped listening to them, and taking me to shows. He is a paraplegic, an Army Ranger wounded from Desert Storm w a Purple Heart, and in their book, Joe Perry said: "Steven always hangs out with those freaks in wheelchairs." That's all I had to hear. Joe allowed this to be published. Never again will I see them.

you had a guitar pick that plucked into the gameport and you played on a tennis rack or something. You had to hit the notes. pretty much the first guitar hero :D

I thought it was pretty awesome, but I was 10 at the time. I feel like replaying it, but I don't have the pick or the game anymore.

Correction: Quest For Fame works perfectly on MAC OS 9.2.2. Does anybody know if it works on OSX?

Probably not, if it required Quicktime on OS 9

I have an old MAC (G3 at 266mhz) that the game (with the VGuitar and the VPick) still runs on perfectly as long as I lower the OS to 8.6 from 9.2.

It's got cool things that start to happen like hot dancing chicks start appearing when you play very well!

The guitar is cool! It uses a real guitar string, has Volume, Distortion and Feedback controls

I'm thinking about making vids of me playing the game and showing people how to connect it up and rock! If you think this is a good idea let me know

I used to have this game...there were actually other videos similar to this that had different outcomes. For example if you played really badly, the band would start yelling at you and the crowd would boo!

The game will work with Win3.1 - Win98SE, other OSs are no more supported due to the OLD (1992) video accelaration used in the game. I have set up a dedicated PC with Win98 only for the game... =)... and I have the ported Playstation version too.

VPicks are still availabe all over the world on eBay... I owe the 6th one now!

Oh and: Joe Perry teaches you to play Walk on water, not Blind man

depends on what system you'll use the vpick... at the mo the ebayer japan_canada is selling the psx version of the game on ebay and the ebayer katharina76 is selling the PC version (both including the vpick)... just contact me for further questions =)

I have this game for PC, but the pick broke many, many years ago so I just have the cds, but I never use 'em. And I got vista so I doubt it'd work :P Anyone tried running it with DOSbox?is there another solution if you don't have a pick for PC?

I truely loved this game eversince I got it when I was about 8 y.o. It inspired me so much to learn playing Instuments and love and live rock music!

It felt so good to get a peek of this game.

I wish they'd produce a Guitar Hero - Quest for Fame tribute! Because I think it really was the first game That ever brought up the idea of such a gameplay. And even connects it with a Story.

I've been looking a working version of this game in ages. Bought it at a Computer Gamesn Fair in about 96/97 for a 5a.. my V-Pick broke about 4 times, eventually was unusable cos my brothers bigger mates broke it. I Cried alot.. Never completed either, got to the stadium, but couldn't beat that rival at the stage entrance!!! grrrr
