i lived there for three years and it was absolutely horrible. If anyone I know ever suggests taking a vacation to Key West I will more than likely in up in prison for murder. 3/4 of it is a rundown ghetto full of homeless people and drugs..the beaches SUCK as well. Any brochure about Key West is just plain false advertisement. Horrible traffic, the worst drivers you will EVER encounter, clueless and lost tourists that make you want to go on a shooting spree, and bars get old after about a week.

Funny, same thing happenned all over Florida. Naples was an absolute hidden paradise in the late 60's. We used to catch are dinner effortlessly of the beaches there in a matter of seconds. Fishing was just incedible. Grouper, snapper, grunt, sheapshead, flounder, king mackeral. Such beautiful memories. Traveling to Marco Island when it used to be a toll bridge. The endless sandbars at low tide extending to the horizon without a building in sight. Gone, all gone from greed.

When I lived on KW years ago the angel statue had her entire arm intact.

First some treasure-hunter broke her finger off. Now I see some sh*t-hog

has taken her whole arm! KW has been ruined by criminal developers

& opportunistic thugs. The shrimp fleet used to actually dock right at

Schooner Wharf! Then they wanted only fancy yachts so they made the

fleet move to Stock Island. Now I heard "Nobody Knows", the famous locals'

bar has been razed for condos. SHAME! TRAGEDY!

This video has people playing instruments, and has artists set up to draw photos and thats a bad thing?Has it every occured to you that these are extraordinary people that are just doing what they love? Beautiful & thought provoking. I am a 2nd generation Conch, who is a retired Deputy from the Keys. I still hae 3 kids living in Key West. This brought so many, many, good & bad memories of being a cop there. I would not trade them for anything...just like life, the good must go with the bad. Go buy a "cafe con leche", & cuban bread, from Little Johns@corner of 1st St & Flagler Ave. Go out to A1A Smathers Beach and watch the Sun come up...Beautiful. Visit Key West Cemetery, & go have dinner at El Meson de Pepe in Mallory Square.
