  • is that 10 milthickwall?thanx...Harmonicapete

  • @1harmonicapete Seriously? 10mm? thats AT MOST 4-5mm thick. The average bong isnt even made with 10mm thick tubing. And yes I do blow glass I know what I'm talking about.

  • i was wanting to thank u for the video i watched it like a year or so back and fell into love with glass blowing so i got started in to it and now im make all kinds of fun stuff and just got a redmax because of ur video that and i love red and pre mix torch and need some thing bigger that my little gtt but i would love to see move videos of u working the torch

  • Tight,

  • can you make animal pipes?

  • Maybe someone here could help me, I've taken a few classes and now want to buy my own torch. I'm thinking the midrange with the top torch, but should I get the pre-mix top or surface-mix?

  • @ishthealaskan Ive always been told that the midrange and major burner throw away a lot of heat.

I would deffinetly recommend the GTT Lynx to start with.

But if you have your heart set on Norton torch I would go with the Redmax, which is what DJ Mittens is using in this video. the topfire is your choice. the premix topfire can get a really tight pinpoint flame, but the surfacemix can get a bigger flame than the premix, but not as pinpoint.

    hope that helps!!

  • @beachboy8969 Ah, I haven't done a lot of research yet, as I'm still saving up, but that does help. I have also heard that GTT's customer service is outstanding. I'm going back to the place that I took classes at and am going to ask around. Hopefully someone has used both Nortel and GTT and can school me on their opinion. Thank you.

  • @ishthealaskan ive used all of the Nortel torches except the midrange and major. I liked the redmax but its quite a hog on oxygen.

GTT's have much more consentrated heat but can also can get a bushy flame as well.

    good luck

  • @ishthealaskan gtt and carlisle both have horrible customer service. anything other than a lynx from gtt, you will have to wait at least 6 months for.

  • I <3 Creative people

  • david bowie good shit

  • Dude, I applauded when I saw the finish...Harmonicapete....maine

  • thanks alot for posting these vids man they really are a great help to us beginers

  • how much do u charge for ur pipes

  • you have just made my last two hours of sifting through video worthwhile!

all i wanted to know was how to add the downstem!

i'm a self taught glassblower, doing rather well sans a few basic techniques- such as adding a downstem!

    yeah! thank you!

  • this kid is a tool bag! "I didn't even measure"...blah blah blah

  • @illyba888 lol u try no measuring it before u cut..... always ends up way too long .... lol

  • i really enjoyed that ,keep that shit up

  • hey kids! what's the music in the background? peace

  • @ejc1974 dj shadow - mutual slump, off of his endtroducing album,...if u smoke herb listen to "midnight in a perfect world" while dazing at the stars, thats living life!

  • bad as shit dude! I'm lookin to get in the biz, are you self taught or what?

  • i want mr. mittens to make a custom bong for me i don't have a myspace how can i get in contact with him

  • @moparman2500 make a myspace

  • do you have ventalation?

  • Mr. Mittens! nice work, big upz yo

  • way too much fuming. comes out an ugly yellow...

  • bloop!

  • lol red max

  • ahh i seen better! lol... good shiet doh... keep up the blowing... glassblowers unite!! lol i grew up around a family of glassblowers back in 1988 till now... i cant stop glass blowing... i love it man.. pipe making is like a secret art that most people dont understand.. its the art that people dnt realize

  • Enjoyin the vids, DJ. the fuming ROX. just curious......what type of ventilation set up do you have? I thought it might have been in the window in front of you......but that looks closed. :) Are you doin this in your apartment/house?

    Keep the vids comin.......FLAME ON

  • when you inserted the downtube then punched the bowl wouldnt the pressure of the carbon rod press the downstem toward the bottom? and wouldnt that make the airflow for the bowl bad? i am very new to glassblowing, thanks

  • well depends on a diameter of the downtube but about 2,5 millimeter is still an okay distance for good airflow :). hope i could help you

  • he man ive been wathing a lot of glass blowing vids lately and im sort of considering trying it myself now, im pretty artistic, so im fairly certain i could learn how to do it in time. but what i was wondering is why dont you wear gloves? doesnt that whole piece of glass get hot as hell? and another thing is this. if i were to buy all my supplies for this hobby, like the torch, tools, and glass, how much money would i have to spend?

  • hey man im new to glass blowing myself im getting all my stuff used online send me a message if u wanna know some forums about what and where to get it and the whole piece doesent get hot usually just the part your workin on but it does stay hot for a while

  • a shit load. the torch can be anywhere between $500 to a couple g's. however, they last forever if you get a good one.

    the glass, i dont know...

  • hey man im a fellow nortel owner just wonderin wat tip u use on ur minor that flame is about half the size of mine im in the market for a new tip oh and bad ass bub really nice work

  • its a premix. the redmax comes with either a premix, which gives a really tight pinpoint flame, or can get a surface mix, which is pretty much the Minor, a bigger flame but cant get the pinpoint flame you get with the premix

  • the cameraman seems cool. nice positive comments in these videos. thanks for posting.

  • sure is a lot of Glass blowers down that way...

  • Uber sweet sick headies!

  • MAKE ME A BUB BRO

  • shit....dosent that make your house hot as fuck?

  • dude, thats amazing. im adding that to my favorites

  • garage kid

  • Yo Johnny boy!! What it up? I like the glass blowing vids. Tell D he has inspired me to take a flame glass working class at my school. I have learned to make marbels and pendants. It is so much fun. So I now see glass working in a whole new light! And it is great to see D man doing his thing, so tell him I said nice work and I love

Hope also ;) Thanks for the vid!
