I heard that a H.S. just built in my neighborhood in North Hollywood cost $140 million. Looking at it , I would have guessed maybe 30 million.

In my area 14 schools are closing because the inept and corrupt council are short of 22 million despite the fact that every citizen pays 150 pounds council tax a month which is supposed to pay for stuff like schools. The kids all 4000+ of them will now bunk up with all the other kids at the overstretched schools.
I also want to add that many teachers today aren't teachers to begin with. Many of them are either mathematicians or scientists who couldn't find work in their fields so they go into education and don't take the same classes as the real teachers. I call them posers, fake teachers who think they care, but they don't. They do it because they need a job, rather than doing it because they enjoy it. For me the best teachers are the ones who enjoy it and kids can feel that, thus they want to learn.
There are countries where they educate the kids in shacks and they come out smarter than the kids in these fancy schools in the US. Why? More money put into supplies, books, and things that are actually needed, like good pay for teachers. There are good teachers in the US, but majority aren't and I can't blame them. They're paid like shit. I mean you get paid regardless, so why bust your ass if you're not recognized for a job well done.
This is why I say please, thank you and do a little conversation with the workers at restaurants, even at fast food places. People tend to forget that their people too and they too deserve some recognition for making our lives a little bit better. When people are thanked and appreciated, they'll work and be the best they can be, but when people are ignored they could careless thus why people complain about the service and the food. Be nice and they'll treat you right, plus free extra fries. :)
what they should do is pay the teachers more, subsidize supplies so the teachers don't have to pay out of their own pockets, and reduce class size. to pay for it take the money out of the billions of dollars that are going to fortify another country's infrastructure and security (Iraq). take care of your own needs before you take care of a whole other countries needs. durrr!

In my area 14 schools are closing because the inept and corrupt council are short of 22 million despite the fact that every citizen pays 150 pounds council tax a month which is supposed to pay for stuff like schools. The kids all 4000+ of them will now bunk up with all the other kids at the overstretched schools.

I also want to add that many teachers today aren't teachers to begin with. Many of them are either mathematicians or scientists who couldn't find work in their fields so they go into education and don't take the same classes as the real teachers. I call them posers, fake teachers who think they care, but they don't. They do it because they need a job, rather than doing it because they enjoy it. For me the best teachers are the ones who enjoy it and kids can feel that, thus they want to learn.

There are countries where they educate the kids in shacks and they come out smarter than the kids in these fancy schools in the US. Why? More money put into supplies, books, and things that are actually needed, like good pay for teachers. There are good teachers in the US, but majority aren't and I can't blame them. They're paid like shit. I mean you get paid regardless, so why bust your ass if you're not recognized for a job well done.

This is why I say please, thank you and do a little conversation with the workers at restaurants, even at fast food places. People tend to forget that their people too and they too deserve some recognition for making our lives a little bit better. When people are thanked and appreciated, they'll work and be the best they can be, but when people are ignored they could careless thus why people complain about the service and the food. Be nice and they'll treat you right, plus free extra fries. :)
