  • I saw Dr. Ian Hacking speak on campus a few weeks ago, and something he said jumped at me. Instead of building bridges between the islands of disciplines, he suggested we drain the sea of ignorance to expose the natural land bridges that connect them. I think Knowledge Integration goes past buildings bridges and begins to drain the sea of ignorance by educating us in different disciplines and giving us the tools to integrate them. - Ryan, part of the trailblazing Amsterdam cohort (4th year)

  • For me, KI is learning how to learn while getting a personalized, interdisciplinary education! - 1st Year KI (Barcelona Cohort)

  • I'm in joint KI and Computer Science and I haven't learned a single useful skill in CS. I am pretty well-enabled to program, but they didn't teach me how to come up with ideas of what to program, or how to negotiate really angry teammates. Thank God I took Knowledge Integration and actually practiced long term group projects and studied how to learn quickly and creativity techniques. I'm excited because I'll be a programmer that stands out.

  • For me, KI is about studying what you want while getting the skills you need. (I'm in the Barcelona cohort, i.e. first year.)
