  • shout 2 where i grew up the st.bernard projects downtown new orleans so man dont fuck whit N.O

  • they should tear down all the projects here in NOLA, they dont pay for those houses, so they shouldnt get a say in how they're run. its supposed to be temporary housing, so all those that say they have been living in the projects all their life should be arrested for fraud

  • What I see here is Cradle to Grave welfare mentality. Why is that over one million successful black people call Atlanta home? Perhaps, some of these American success stories began in a housing project, but persistence, not pestilence, brought them the success they now enjoy.

  • @LBM330 haha. Now we are your problem whitey.

  • I love New Orleans but I think the Projects made that city one of the dangerous cities in the world. I think they need to re-build the city but don't start up new housing projects.

  • BLACK PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE PRIDE IN THEY CITY .. NEW ORLEANS IS THE BEST CITY I EVER LIVED IN .. IMA MOVE BACK 1 DAY .. RE-BUILD MY CITY

  • missing my home town

  • @janesha1996 Where you stay at now?

  • Get a job and quit fucking complaining ,they build a nice place and what do u do complain , its time to shut your mouth and get to work

  • @Z7EXTREMEBABY Maybe you should have watched the entire video, if you did you need help or maybe you didnt listen because your personnel opinions are to strong and were covering what you were watching grow up you meaningless human being gain some brains and be come a person stop being so opinionated about things and look at the big picture would you like to be forcibly evicted out of your home illegally i dont think so, so just stop your un needed ignorant harshness towards others, get a life :\

  • Try the westbank of New Orleans and St. Charles parish. Thanks for all the great comments

  • They tore down St. Bernard in 2008, and have built "Columbia Parc", a place

for middle, (not lower), income people. The place must be like a JAIL because

RULES don't even allow RESIDENTS to sit on their OWN PORCH after 9PM,

and they are not allowed to cook on a grill. WHAT A DAMNED JOKE!

Want to know the definition of the word "GENTRIFY"? Take a look at

    "Columbia Parc".

  • I hope that they fix these areas up and that the people who reside in them, take care of them . What some of the neighborhood citizens are doing is great but work on changing the mindset of some of the people who's rather destroy these areas that to help rebuild them and help them flourish!

  • Retards continuing to breed with retards. It happens with all colors. God help us!!

  • I'm From New Orleans And Alot Of Yall Dont Understand How New Orleans People Are About They City Thats All We Know Is New Orleans We Some Fighters We Always Gone Have Hope In Our City

  • If we don't have free, tax payer funded housing, we can't come back. OK, so the NG, the Military, raped and molested people during the hurricane? WTF. No freakin graditude. How dare you lie on the military. Forced exile? It was a freakin hurricane.I grew up with hurricanes in Houston, you leave when it gets too bad.

  • Check out Low Income Resources to find the help you need.

  • who wants to live in that shithole

  • Public housing keeps people poor. If everything is paid for you, what is the incentive to strive to better yourself? Then again, these idiots always want something for nothing.

  • "14 years" and she coudnt find a palce to buy in 14 years or a apartment to rent this is why people dislike the welfare system!!!

  • thats what am talking bout someone who cares

  • Thanks, President Bush. You did a heckuva job.

  • i, also, am completely moved!!! I will be going to New Orleans this year for the Essence Music Festival and Im now looking forward to learning more the history of this cultural city...Its a shame that this is the public housing system...but this is the exact history that is NOT taught to our youth in the public education system...and they wonder why kids are dropping out left and right...its a SET UP!!!!!!

  • who cares what that white guy says

  • I understand yall wanting to go back in yalls home. they just dont want yall in there because the water could have fucked up the structures and they could fall in on you. end up like some hatians

  • they should have bought them a few pressur washers and a truck load of bleech andlet them come back home. there was plenty of work there cleaning up the city. O YEA I FORGOT THEY SHOULD HAVE ALSO BOUGHT THEM ASEMI TRUCK LOADED WITH ICE COLD BEER.

  • i dont wanna think about da st.bernard because every time ithink aabout it bein gone it makes me drop water out mi eyes i grew up there

  • people are sayin im sittin on a high horse . thank you 904SexiRed. N i can relate to Steelcityog. I have no horse to ride high on. I motivated myself. What grown human being needs a role model? you're grown. you're family and responsiblities should be your motivation. And it is simple to get out. IAnd I reading and writing is not difficult to learn if you want money. n wat does me dating white chick have to do with anything? i do what ever i want to do. btw. My woman is black. Ahe! Aha!

  • It's a damn shame how many people doubt New Orleans. People who grew up in New Orleans have very strong feelings for their city. WE LOVE OUT CITY!

Most people from New Orleans probably wouldn't take no other city before ours. I'm 15 years old and I've been down here all my life. I can't ee myself leaving New Orleans. We try and try and try to make our community the best it can be.

  • hell yeah!

  • @SmokieNPhatt504 Yea dude you were born and raised in New Orleans bro. Yes you people love your city but have no respect for it... I've lived in 7 different places in my life and New Orleans is by far the worse. Actually visit the world and get out and see other city's and countries and you'll see why so many people doubt new orleans.

  • @SmokieNPhatt504 yeah, New Orleans is a fun place and very beautliful, and most of the people are very nice. But when 80% af the people are black, it´s very difficult to make it a good and save place to live! Not racist, it´s just a fact that cities with a big black population are very high crime, and not a good place to iive!

  • @drmehengele How can you be so STUPID and RACIST with remarks like that?!

We lived in New Orleans before Katrina and are white, and we LOVED N.O. the

way it was. It was the black population that made New Orleans the special soul-

filled city it was, and a place you could live decent without being a rich person.

New Orleans BELONGS to the African-Americans who have lived there for generations.

N.O. was 2 to 1 black, and IT WAS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE!

  • @SmokieNPhatt504 so true I don't c why ppl down (N.O)!... Everybody got to live a diffrent way everybody not da same...

  • @SmokieNPhatt504 I feel the same way, and im 15 too, people dont understand that when you're born in New Orleans you have a certain unique attachment to it, people go on and on about how bad the city is and how it should just be left, yet they are from the city nor have there ever been, New Orleanians are a proud people and we no one else but our selves unless they feel the same we do. Viva La Nouvelle Orleans

  • Those old brick Projects are high-quality construction. Nagin's decision to tear them down was based solely on cronyism and corruption. He wanted his buddies to make some money building new projects. Too, the 'High Yellow' people like Nagin absolutely detest the "Zigaboos" who live in the projects, and would love to drive them out of town. I hope the projects did get repopulated.

  • cant the horse jump over the fence? but its been trained to think it cant think about that when u at princeton cuz trust how u think bout the people where u come from them white folks finna look at u the same trust homey it dont matter your gpa but good luck thou sum black boy/girl witll be inspired by u goin to a prestigious school like that

  • idiot..hahaha Thats why Im about to go to Prineton University..Ivy league bitch..And yes I actually grew up in foster care..Matterfact at the moment I live in Dade county Miami fl. allapattah/Overtown area. So I deffintly know What Im talking about you stupid cunt..I know an they know an everybody else knows what goes down in tha projects except you.Why should I create jobs for you.I made my own way n you should do tha same.U lazy bitch.those people destroy their own shit every generation etc...

  • ill tell u why bruh because its easy to seen that everybody dont have your drive see thats the different between us and everyother race asians dont think that way mexicans dont but its coo we made it before and will make it again your the type to go get a white girl and do nothin to help your own we call that where im from "on ya high horse" ask oj simpson bout it. it isnt allways about lazy what if "they dont no they dont no" u ever seen a horse behind the fence?cant the horse jump over

  • For real tell him bruh.

  • No need for all of this racist talk. Its non-sense. Until you live in project housing; until you grow up living on the low-income spectrum, don't refer to another person who lives in the projects as a lazy, non workiking, dope head. I'm in college doin well, and have jobs lined up paying me more in 5 years than you may have ever seen. projects is alot more than just rappers and drug dealers people. Some wealthy people cant live without poor people. Think slavery just to put it the air.

  • @ericp4789 i agree if you've never lived in this situation or never had the feeling of what is to not have then you cant relate. Im in college but I come from the hood in jax fl though and alot of people stuck in that shit its a fuckin mindset and everyone dont have somebody to motivate them and if you dont know whats out there you just stuck in your bubble. People do what they know.

  • alll fuck shannon n sharon dope head bitches

  • just get a fucking job then you wouldnt have to live in the projects....Stop expecting handouts from the goverment an teaching your kids the same...These people never listen to nobody thats tryna help them..The goverment should tear the projects down an force these people to work...I gurantee the crime rate goes down...And yes there is martin luther king jr. street everywhere in America...

  • if it were that simple do you think these people would still be living in the conditions they have to? idiot there are no jobs...how about u get your ass out there and create some since you want them to work so bad....think before you speak...idiot

  • I wish all them assholes would stop crying and do something with there lives instead of icing off of the government and me as a tax payer. I wish they would tear all the damn projects down.........project.......failed.

  • i dont know if its just me but is every martin luther king st. in the hood

  • Yes it is..............

  • Endesha Juakali speaks the truth at the end of the video!

    WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2009 02:22

  • I am without words! NO COMMENT!

  • im white and spanish

    do you care?

  • (speechless) completely moved! how meaningless is a persons life if they never stand for somethin and make a difference in this world for others

  • all yall who sayin that we need job n stufff yu need a job cause we dnt have enuf money the projects dnt coss dat much so yall who sayin all of these things dnt know what r talkin bout come down here in new orleans with not a lot of money n see how it feel

  • its not that they are even that creative they just dont have any place to go and with no job, no education, and no money how could they survive unless they help us they didn't have a problem removing us from africa to help their lazy asses. suck a n.o. dick New Orleans stand up! i love my city!

  • I think part of the reason maybe they cant go home is HEALTH issues... MOLD is not something you can live with before it causes illnesses... I guess they want to move back in that mess so they can get ill and then make a lawsuit because they got sick... Give me a break who in their right mind would want to be living there like that untill its rebuilt?

  • bullshit fuck all that tone shit we are all even

  • Go back to school and do something dumb shit.

  • wanna go lookin for em?

  • Lol.This is Crazy. It's 2009. 2222000000099999. And Still. Black people,African American people,Stll get Treated like Shit. It's Time for A Change Man 4 real......

  • They're not treated like shit. They are just stupid.

  • Its funny how in America the major cities look like shit and are filled with poor ppl. But in the suburbs, which no1 from outside of the metro area even knows about, is packed with rich ppl and look so much nicer. Shouldnt u take pride in your famous cities that made America the envy of most other countries in the world? Its like ur just severing all ties with major cities and investing in boring old bedroom and gated communities. seems counter-intuitive to me

  • ppl the world owe you nothing, stop acting like the poor victum. my heart goes out to the eldly people the widower and the widow and orphan. not only am i a taxpayer but i also give money to the poor, homeless needy individuals in and outside of my community.. FOR I KNOW THAT GOD WILL BLESS ME. peace.

  • LOL you people are heartless I hope and Pray that a disaster like Katrina Hits you home town. Wipes out all your property, destroys your life, displaces your kids, killers your friends, and forces you to strat you life over. You fucking Bastards!!!!!!!!

  • get up off these people it,s a tough and rough place but with the opportunity for a decent life at a rarity its goin to be tough. The police treat u like shit out the doe.we r not bad peopleif u ack like u like me im gonna ack like i like u point blank.

  • IF you don,t work you don,t eat. 2 thess 3-10 these people put themselves in this predicament. which they have rely on the government to take care of them early and now they are at the mercy of the government, sad, many lived in public housing for different reasons could well have been self inflicted some where down the line. lack of education, having children out of wedlock. eldery individuals with low income. we the taxpayers have to fit the bill. by the grace of God there goes I

  • You clearly don't know what your talking about.... How can you sit here and be the judge of other people when you yourself are not perfect. Yes it is true some people don't have their life together and its their fault, but there are people out here they didn't put themselves into their predicament. Some people can't finish their education because they have to go get a job. Others might have a job but still can't afford to move out of bad neighborhoods, they are called the working poor.

  • Did i not say by the grace of GOD there goes i??? which means it culd have hppen to me. FYI i grew up in the prjects for age 5-9 this was my mther,s fault snce she decided to marry my father who didn,t wnt to work and take care of his family. this was no mystery to her, she know what type of person he was. they both were uneducated, so i know what i,m talking about I LIVED IT!!!!

  • After being in the projects for 4yrs my mother decided to get her life in order, and worked two jobs. we then moved out and never came back ever since. the welfare system suppose to be a hand up not a constant hand out! when you stay in the projects just remember taxpayers like me have to pay for it!! when you swpe your EBT card taxpayers like me have to pay for it!!! when you go to the doctor again taxpayers pay. the government is harder on me bec single with no child i hv to py for welfare.

  • I understand what you are saying but everyone is not your mother.... I personally have never lived in the projects, but I understand that each situation can only be judge case by case. Why would anyone want to live in poverty??

  • Madam didn,t i not said that ppl end up in the projects for different reasons!! I WAS JUST KIND ENOUGH TO TELL YOU MY SHORT STORY. GOT IT.

  • Shut the fuck up you racist ass bastard.

  • Hey, evil themonroetwins, you low self-esteem have no purpose as you are destructive, you are good for nothing, i see you drink out of toilets your mouth or as filthy as they come. how about giving your life to Jesus he will wash your mouth and make you clean (TRY HIM) you need him badly. oh by the way you evil synagogue of satan who said i was white?

  • Some ppl get use to government hand out, and before they knew it they have live the same way for years. they may feel like they can,t do any better bec they have given up hope focusing on their circumstances. some can,t even find the first job, and as soon they find a job their benefits are cut quickly. we all live under a system in this country. my point is never rely on the government if you can. choices that we make as ppl in life can make us better or can hurt us.

  • Hurricane Katrina couldn't have happened to more deserving people!!! The Lord doesn't always work in mysterious ways--sometimes they are all over youtube!. It's a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah.

    Let it rain!!!!

  • When Katrina hit they should have built the levees up higher and pumped more water into the city.

  • Comment removed

  • I always wanted to visit and i helped during katrina stay strong home is home

  • Tear Down All The Bricks!

  • In Birmingham they took down the Central City Project and built new housing for all incomes.Where are the poor people to live in America?

  • They probably sent them to southtown over by Saint Vincents or Collegeville in north Birmingham

  • you are right jason3074. this can happen to anyone.

  • I can tell that you're an Obama voter...LOL

  • ok, so they tore down the projects. White people shouted hurray!! Now, the same folks are scattered all over southeast Louisiana, from Kenner, Metarie, New Orleans, Algires, Marrero, etc.. now more murders are occuring all over, more robberies, just more crime period. Now those same white people are crying, because they allowed it to happen to them. They're the ones that need to move. Should've let them kill each other in their comfort zone!

  • fuck you muthafucka

  • stop cursing people out over the internet, fake thug wanna be...you would never say that to a native new orleanian's face, especially not mine. I won't even go there with you online....you're prolly not even worth going there at all asshole!

  • hahaha

about fake thug, i aint no thug and i dont claim to be

and so wot u from new orleans, dont mean shit

my fam from jamaica where its just about as dangerous, so wot u tryin to prove?

  • hahah lil wayne is a native new orleanian

you tellin me i would say that to his face

    hahahahahahahahahaha

  • YOU WOULDN'T say that to any new orleanians face, especially not mines or lil waynes! what you worried about new orleans for anyway..go look at a jamacain youtube video f-n bumaclog...lmao

  • because unlike most americans i dont think the country i live in is the whole world

and it pisses me off when i see idiots like you sayin "we should let em kill each other"

goes to show aint shit changed over there

  • I didn't say we should've..I said should've reffering to those whites and misinformed blacks that wanted the projects torn down. Now that they are down, the people that once lived in them are scattered all over the city and crime has taken an all time high here. robberies, rapes, killings, etc. Now those same people are crying do something about the crime..but when thses people lived in the jects, they kept the foolishness amongst themselves..it wasn't all over the city

  • and its bumbaclart

if u gunna try cuss me at least get it right

  • i wasn't trying to get it right...that's what the lmao..was for..and anyway you need to mind your business.you are not from new orleans or any of the states, so you don't know what goes on. in my comment, I was reffering to those folks that begged for the projects to get torn down and now that they are down, whine that the thugs have brought killing to their neighborhood. I asked them to leave new orleans, (those folks are mostly white and blacks that don't get these folks struggle) I get it

  • and thanks for teaching my the correct way to say it...lol...I always wondered what the correct pronouncian of it was

  • wot the fuck

  • These ppl never heard of work in their lives...

  • fuck you

  • As a NOLA native, tear these horrible projects down! make these lazy azz bums get jobs

  • fuck you muthafucka

  • fuck u bothc ass white people obama president now so plz report 2 da cotton fields for orientation but asses we gon get yall back

  • wanna go look 4 him

  • This is the stupidest thing ever. Those buildings have been eyesores for years and breeding grounds of violence, drugs, and just ignorance. NOBODY wants to work in those neighborhoods, they want to sit on their lazy asses and watch the white man take care of everything for them. The main goal of this whole ordeal is to demolish and build them nicer, larger single homes for families to live in, but they want thier piece of shit apartments. Get a fucking education, stupid trash.

  • "NOBODY wants to work in those neighborhoods, they want to sit on their lazy asses and watch the white man take care of everything for them"

Wow, that kind of ignorance is unbelievable. Nobody wants to work...................? You obviously have never talked to anyone who lived there.

  • what you call there is here for me, i live in this corrupt city, im tired of people from the oustide looking in. the projects weren't meant to be permanent housing for stuipd moochers, they were supposed to be temporary for people who were having trouble and needed time to get on their feet. instead, generations upon generations continue to infest those slums, i'm not ignorant. if thats what you want your tax dollars to go to, fine, be my guest. but if thats what you want, you are ignorant.

  • Originally "state of the art developments". The mud probably is contaminated. In Atlanta, most of the projects were built on brownfield sites. Folks got to sign waivers promising they wouldn't sue the city if they get sick from drinking the water.

  • since when have white people took care of black people??

  • i bet next time a hurricane comes these dumb fucks will get out of the way.

  • u a hatr getta life and eatta dick

  • you think these people are willing to work? look at where they live. in the fucking projects. these niggers will never work. if they worked they would be living in a better place

  • If you're not willing to work don't come back to new orleans. haha, losers.

  • I have a nice ass g

  • that's nice.... STFU LOFL!

  • what a bunch of retatded leaches.

if you don't like it- BUY your own place ya fuckin looozerz.

  • I was in the Superdome for over a week during Katrina. All of the military... the national guard and the Army (which came later) were all very nice.

  • i want u 2cum 2 da n.o an say dat shit kellek16 so u could get fucked put a pussy in yo 4head...we dont need 2 go nowhere cause we run dis bitch y dont yall bitches cum 2 us fuck iraq r afganistan we ga let da army die slow in dat bitch cum 2 new orleans an run yo mouth realest city in da world we claimin our independence fuck da united states we a 3rd world country c they was rite wen dey said we was refugees look up wat happened in texas after katrina fuk comments cum

  • aha, you sound like a dumb nigger

  • SBP ALL DAY HARD HEAD AND F U KELLE

  • the problem with black people is they keeping marching and marching and marching, protesting and they think that is supposed to scare somebody, you have got to get violent if you want to get somewhere in this country.

  • if we got violent young money ya ll crackers would piss ya pants ya digg

you should be glad that someones trying to be peaceful me on the other hand

  • Think about all the energy and time wasted walking down the streets yelling "HUD says Cutback, We say Fight Back!!" They still knock down the projects. Man hours wasted, you guys could of been working or moving somewhere else to start over. I know! I know! By the way some people before Hurricane Katrina were spending their money on HIGH price clothes, shoes and other unnecessary items, and wasn't saving any money.

  • fuck you you racist bastard.

  • muthafucka puh leeez..

y'all can't organize for shit. LOL- too fucking stupid to get outta the way of a cat 5 hurricaine...

yeah- y'all running shit... stoopid mofo.

  • dam shame the way they treated those people

  • i'm glad that the city finally tore this down. This represented a degree of stereotyping and gave some blacks an excuse not to venture out and be independent and not dependent on the government. People are claiming that the reason they cannot get out of the "projects" is because the lack of income. No, the reason is lack of committing their lives to sustaining constant income. You see people with $100,000 cars and still staying with their mothers.

  • I know thats right!

  • its a shame it takes hell to take place for our people to get together in unity and work together

  • I know thats right chile!

  • we , the people of new orleans have voted to abolish the projects. im sick of paying for my city going to shit

  • fuck you ya white honkie dipshit

  • shutup man you can work and support yourself you would not step foot in the pjs cuz your scared.

  • Exactly, its the best decision we could have EVER made.

  • you have no right to decent and sanitary housing

  • tha St. Bernard projects is where my man Mannie Fresh from. What up Fresh

  • no he not

  • what a gutter

  • You're a fucking gutter!

  • first off...trust...america dont care about black ppl right...that means if we were the main ones using public housing as you might think then they would stop it. so why dont you look into where your people live at and see...most black ppl dont live in the ghetto n projects. we just talk about it. white ppl do that so check your facts ignorant fool!!!!!!!!!!!

  • holy shit people--lets get off f-ing utube and start contributing to the situation at hand. start educating, rebuilding, funding, volunteering, shaking hands, making friends, sharing food, finding out what we DO have in common before its too late. this is only the beginning. like somebody said above, america will be a third world country before long. pretty soon its gonna be too late. shit--maybe it already is. i hope not.

  • thats where my fam from we rep the st.banerd

  • u racist tramp, fools like u make me sick

  • to hell with "words" a single word can hold differnet meanings to different people ... BUT... it's the "that is being nice" part that indicates your true feelings, racist.

  • me or the other guy?

  • if the phrase fits... "that is being nice"

  • i didnt say that, the other guy did

  • who the hell r u callin coloured?! the correct term is Black person/people or African American, or a "person of african decent"....ur lucky i can't beat ur ass, about "coloured" kmt

  • i felt like fallin out my chair wen i heard one of the officials yell @ the protesting residents sayin "go home!" while pushin them away from the gate. ISN'T THAT WAT THEY'RE TRYING 2 DO!?!? 2 GO HOME?!!? once they push through HIS ASS they will b in their homes!

  • tell that 2 the government who STOLE y'all's money as LOYAL TAX PAYERS 2 do wat they wanted w/the land already in other people's possessions....rising home costs over the tops of their heads KNOWING the residents would'nt b able 2 afford it! the gov. is one sneaky bitch!

  • First of all, the government does not own the projects. Being that this is a democracy that is run off of tax dollars, the people own the projects. They are tearing these places down because they want to drive out the poor from the city Otherwise, they would give them a place to stay in New Orleans, until they tear down and rebuild whatever... I'm a tax payer and being that they will use tax dollars to tear down and then again to rebuild, the people are entitled to at lest voting on the dilemma.

  • Please don't give money to the relief fund, unless you know where the money is really going, so the money could end up in the hands of the developers.... See Freedom to Fascism and Monopoly men and bring back the Black Panthers...

  • you know what get a job it might be hard for the first few weeks but it will pay off in the long run quit being lazy!!! and who the hell would want to live in public housing any way there shit holes with alot of crime and drugs. so go back to school or get a job and in 2 or 3 years from now your gonna be happy you did

  • I can't believe ur a child of god..if you even believe in god. how dare you make the NOLA situation a get a job thing or go back to school thing...those scum bags are violating those folks human rights to housing.this christmas you need to ask santa to bring your ass a heart or better yet a wildfire should sweep thru your home so you and your family could feel lost and despire first hand.

  • dude i was eight years old when are town was hit by a flood you tube grand forks flood and look at that shit. down town was on fire house under water and it was 15 above out side so dont talk shit

  • dont talk shit..if you went thru all that you should have known the fuck better..♥

  • Fuck dis project..pokerbeans 4 life pussies

  • shout out 2 liberty square , and edison courts ,but dont dis respect upt bra

  • This is pathetic really! The projects in New Orleans, number one, belong to the government, not you; secondly, the projects were crime-ridden dumps that gave new orleans a horrible reputation. I cant believe you are so desperate to go back to them.

  • Any place there is a severe housing shortage is NOT the place to be destroying habitable dwellings... if you want people to return, that is.

What so hard to understand about that?

  • Whateva white mothafucka is on here with racist shit to say need to shut the fuck up. We deal with the most in Louisiana day to day. You seen that jena 6 shit, you seen the hurricane and you seen the murder rate. You speak on the situation cuz you aint dealt with it but think of the people with families what if it were your people you still aint heard from

  • Real.

  • Blame your mayor!
