Wow! A TV Commercial of MacGyver Season 5 Episode 6 Halloween Knights. I remember this episode well. I love the scene in that episode where MacGyver and his usual arch nemesis Murdoc join forces together against evil including the evil boad chairman Nicholas Hellman. This episode was actually aired on ABC on 30th October 1989.
I love Fred!! The Wonder Years was one of my favourite shows when I was younger, though I did watch it on reruns cause it was on before I was old enough to understand it.
Speaking of Pepsi, they also had a commercial featuring "The Boys" that same year. Plus on the Home Alone VHS, there's a Pepsi spot with "Another Bad Creation" along with the very first trailer for "Fern Gully".
I know the #18 that your talking about was not the "Bourne Identity", which had starred Matt Damon". That came out twelve years later. When did that original version come out?
I noticed that the Anti Drug PSA you posted up there only says "partnership for a drug free America" But I saw the same ad on KGO-TV around this time and it had the words " California Department of Health Services" on there Before the 6:00 PM ABC7 News.
OMFG!!!! THE TORKLESONS!!!!! The name rang a bell, and then when I saw the commercial, it all came together! Whenever I as younger, I remember thinking that I loved that chicks voice.
Wow, a Torkelsons flashback just totally took me back.....
Thanks for the commercials too!!
P.S. Isn't EVERYONE'S nightmare a Little Caesar's Pizza?
Don't you think that's a tad bit cruel? Not the Meat lover's pizza into the vegetarian meeting, but you had a commercial featuring Paula Abdul. lol I kid of course. I dig these commercials.
Man, I always loved your little commercial compos but this really takes the cake as one of the best so far! 8D
This might be another comment I can't fit all my individual opinions on each of the best commercials because of the silly 500 character limit but maaaaaaaan, it seems like soft drinks commercials were at their most effective in 1990!
The Diet Coke ad made me want to dance like a craaaazay thing and the Pepsi ad just made me feel really thirsty...hehehe... *grabs a drink* XD

I'm willing bet the vast majority of people who dive into empty pools do it for the crisp, clean full-bodied flavour of beer.

Diet Coke has always been horrible, Little Caesars however used to taste fine. Nowadays, the pan pizza is the only good pizza from them.

I believe Little Caesars actually tasted good back then.

Wow...that promo for the Rick Dees thing didn't encourage me to watch it at all. I think he might have been Carson's final victim.
Given that "The Dead Zone" was 7 years old at that point, I'm surprised ABC still had the broadcast rights to it.
I'm guessing PETA didn't appreciate that Little Caesar's ad.
After seeing her for 8 years on American Idol, I do have to wonder just how many other drinks might have been in Paula's can of Diet Coke...

The Bourne Identity? Had no idea the one that came out in the era was a remake.

I really miss Little Ceasars. The closest one around where I live is 45 minutes out of the way.
And Paula Abdul is STILL doing ads for Coke. (I'm looking directly at those Coca-Cola cups that she, Simon and Randy drink out of on AI.)

I miss the Little Cesaers commericals. At least they still exist.
Rick Dees, the "Dicso Duck" dude? He had his own talk show?
