It's 2010... & time to bring the great, legendary Amelia Earhart home for good. For 'reality' based answers peruse the updated Irene-Amelia website. Featuring twenty different page links, it is the comprehensive basis for a new, controversial documentary film due out in August. To this day there has never been an official investigation into Earhart's 1937 disappearance. Learn something you never knew... about his story.
Believe she went down in the Pacific, was captured by the Japanese, later released, and then went into seclusion. (As Lindbergh did on the island of Maui.) Amelia became a recluse on Amelia island on the Florida-Georgia border in quarters furnished by the government at Fort Clinch on the upper floor of a former barracks. That floor is still "Off Limits" and I suspect that she may yet be there. Truly unusual how the forces of history run sometimes.
