I like a few rap-metal bands from the mid-90s. Along with 80s heavy/ speed metal, on occasions. Its, in the end, very similar. The two sub-genres are like step-brothers that hate each other. But they have the same roots. Only reason why Nu-metal gets the hate is because of the culture that it supports.
I can see that with Deathcore, I think its kinda shitty. But nu-metal ain't bad. Its just not traditional metal. So if you wanna hate it for that, you can hate pop / rock / every other genre too.

these guys are amazing... Grave Digger pumping out ass kicking metal for decades and still going strong. the only other band i can think of who does it as well, if not better than in the beginning is Saxon. gotta love the few bands that have not abandoned their roots...
and is it just me, or do their album covers keep getting better too...

@3HuNtEr8 heart of darkness, escalibur, tunes (1996) and the last very new work, which even now, in my opinion is one of the best all time heavy metal albums - clans will rise again, it is even strange, that band can create such inccredible album these days.

last time they were in the states, they played to a bar of 25 people, and of those 25, not all were fans. days prior they played the Brave words blood knuckles fest, but I think they said they wouldnt come back because of such a horrible outcome (my friend was having dinner with them at that time). Really sucks!
