Oh...here I am again listening to this wonderful song. Exactly a year ago I wrote a comment with this song. I just hope and pray that I can give my best for Jesus....my utmost for His highest! Oh Lord...thank you for loving me.....
The new melody takes a bit of getting used to, but it's not bad; and besides, the great truths in the hymn aren't changed. And I've never heard that third verse, although I've spent quite a bit of time resigning doubt, care and self recently.
This is a gloriously beautiful old Gospel hymn rendered pale and not glorious, at all, in its "contemporary" tune! So sad! Plus, a lot of little girl voices singing in unison just is not a good sound. Why change the original melody, which was based, I believe, on a Chopin theme?!
I am HIS and He is mine! Oh closed in everlasting arms, how precious is your everlasting LOVE. Thank You Lord, your original intention with man will be accomplished in the New Jerusalem.
