@aardfay well i don't think it has to be pain but rather a sensation that they perceive as a threat in order to know when they're in danger. i think if fish do feel pain, it's on a different level than we feel it and probably isn't nearly as awful as imagined. i think that because when you hook a fish it fights. whereas if you were to hook a person and drag him about, they wouldn't fight it, they would probably give in. i assume the same thing would happen with other animals such as dogs

@aardfay well i don't think it has to be pain but rather a sensation that they perceive as a threat in order to know when they're in danger. i think if fish do feel pain, it's on a different level than we feel it and probably isn't nearly as awful as imagined. i think that because when you hook a fish it fights. whereas if you were to hook a person and drag him about, they wouldn't fight it, they would probably give in. i assume the same thing would happen with other animals such as dogs

We don't have to look over our shoulders all the time while we eat, we are used to a comfy living, no one to fight with. We mostly just fight verbally x)
