It was a North Korean drug smuggling ship the "Pong Su" and it was used for target practice after it had been inpounded 3 years earlier after a dramatic Special Forces boarding assault. It had 150KG heroin onboard.
The RAAF F-111c drop 2 x 2000lb laser guided bombs to send the ship to the bottom off the NSW coast.
Pity they didnt get to use a harpoon anti ship missle.
