mazda 2 is meant for asians. im not racist at all im 5.6" had the drivers seet all the way back and my knees still press against the front part. dont even get my started on the chairs in the back made for little people

@strapinhotpockets In the 5dr, I could fit nicely in the front and back and I'm 6.1" yet in the 3dr I had no space whatsoever and in the front, my knees where smashing into everything...

The colour is called Spirited Green. I just ordered a 1.5 GT-M in this colour. Great car.

Very nice car. I wish Mazda would see the light and bring it over to the U.S. I believe we will get it but in the rumored Ford Fiesta version...BOOO!!!! Ford sucks! Anyway I love the green color of this car....Mazda says it might bring it over in 2010 but I think it will be too little too late, its not like gas prices are going down anytime soon so bring it now! There is a market, look at Toyota, Honda, Nissan and others.

They don't completely own Mazda. They own a steak in it. I'm not sure what percentage but Mazda is NOT owned by Ford. But they do collaborate on some products. Lincoln, Mercury are divisions of Ford so techincally Ford. But yes you're right Volvo, Jagual and Land Rover are owned by Ford but rumored to be sold off so Ford can survive. I know they just sold Aston Martin. So we'll see if Jaguar is next.

I do know that most of the 'platforms' or framework is shared between the vehicles. I believe that due to the turn around in Mazda in the last few years Ford owns less shares. At one time, if you opened the hood on a Mazda truck and some of the Mazda cars they had a Ford engine.  The trucks didn't even try to hide it. The Ford logo plate was right on top. Let's hope that Mazda breaks away from Ford. My opinion is they'd do better on their own.

I totally agree! Mazda has some great designs lately and well Ford at this point is a disease. I think Mazda doesn't need Ford at this point but yeah you're right with Ford helping them, ironically Ford can "help" another company but they can save their own...so sad!

Actually, Ford is bringing the new Fiesta to the US market. The next Fiesta was developed with this new Mazda2(same platform).

Yep I know! Thanks for the heads up! My point was I preferr the Mazda version. Plus I like Mazda and wouldn't touch a Ford. Yes some of their European cars are nice looking and the Mustang is cool especially the 70's ones but that's it. for me at least!
