@Gulbosable Jealousy maybe? I for one has never been a huge fan. His technique is just amazing, but for me personally he leaves me a bit not bothered when it comes to the acting/characterisation. Pirouettes and big jumps are great fun but I get bored after a while. Mind you having said that, I am a total sucker for 32 fouettés which is pure technique as well, so not really sure how that makes any sort of sense haha...

i can only say that he is extremely skilled and truly talented. but when i saw this video after watching corella i dont feel the same fire as corella had when he danced this variation.

i mean, when i saw acosta danced.. i was awed by his perfection in technique and skill.

but when i saw corella dancing it, i thought "wow!" (especially when he whipped his head at the last part) i think you'll see what i mean if you compared acosta's and Angel Corella's. :>

Something my teachers dont like about Cuban ballet school's is that they teach them stuff too early. teach fouette's et the age of 10, double tour for men as soon as possible whenever they dont neceseraly have the technique for it. some people such as CARLOS ACOSTA do or Joanne sendermier they got taught stuff really soon and already had the technique for it but some people just dont have it at a young age and that just injures them...

one other thing as my modern instructors would say "you can get up and move about the stage and it will look like an excercise or you can get up and dance with passion and expression and you will wake up even the 90 year old lady in the back balcony who did not sleep last night" well i was watching this at 1030 at night i usually go to sleep around two so this was very early and i fell asleep half way through so i must say that while he is a technical virtuoso he is still lacking artistry,

I agree. Carlos has a perfect technique and is a beautiful hunk of man, but what he lacks is stage presence and a feeling for music. I'm not one of those cynics who believes all dance from the 90s on is just unemotional acrobatics but that does apply to some.

But his Don Quixote at Covent Garden was mesmerizing...I have neverr seen any male dancer do pirouettes à la second with such vitesse,placement and control.....FANTASTIC.....!!!

i beg to dissagree ABT has five male ballet dancers with eqivalent techinique and atleast twice the artistry that Carlos has.
