Last time i played this i couldnt stop laughing the whole time. I was soft breaking and drawing the cue ball back about a foot for these rediculous 5 ball runs. Very fun game if you like fast offense.
the better player can beat the better breaker thats why at the pro level theres no margin for error...the best player is the one who makes the least errors...thats why theres so much pressure with each shot...
@vanceoliver No it's not, not even close. 9 ball is only popular because it's fast and easier to watch on TV, straight pool and 1 pocket are tactical. 9 ball is just a break contest, the better player does'nt win, the better breaker does. Besides, all the major tournaments are moving to 10 ball to take away the cut break and the corner ball catching a groove, that fact backs up my claim that top players shouldn't be playing 9 ball.
@red88alert Yeah, your right. Breaking good doesn't matter against two champions who play the exact same speed. It doesn't matter when the corner ball starts flying in every time for one of the players. Shane van boening can't win a tournament with that stupid 10 ball break and Allison Fisher can't dominate the womens tour by playing the 1 ball in the side on every break. They didn't outlaw the cut break on the mens tour because Corey Deuel had it perfected. That is crazy talk!
@tsummerlin84 like i said good breaking alone does not win championships...you sound like if you dont know that the break requires skill to be able to make those balls go in in the first place...
@red88alert When two top players match up playing 9 ball then yes, good breaking alone will win it. I know the break requires skill, that's what I'm saying. In 9 ball a player can find a spot and a rythym to make the corner ball everytime, that's fine for b or c players, but not fair for champions. The break has everything to do in 9ball. like I said, the better breaker wins, not the better player.
There isn't much money in pool. The average tour event pays between 5-10,000 (if they're lucky) for first place, often as low as 2,000. By comparison 25,000 is a good chunk of change.
The richest tournament is the World Championship which pays 100,000. Sad, but true.
lucky enough to get a 147 :)) lol....but youre right about the money, but the whole idea is naive :) snooker is controlled by a few pro players who take all the titles, but its true theres more money in snooker
The Philippines is a pool crazy nation, and Manny Pacquiao is one generous, rich athlete. Being an avid pool player himself, he should organize an international pool tournament and contribute a large chunk of money for the winners. :-)
He did last on Halloween weekend, it was a charity event and the winner played Manny. Unfortunately I don't remember who won the thing, or how well Manny played.
This Filipino did not bother shaking hands with Mika. Neither did Corteza when Mika struck him with an 11-6 win in the world 10 ball championship 2009.
Sorry to say it. It is a talented-cheap nation ; where money comes before everything.
your view is probably biased by the fact that our country is a poor third-world nation.
For django and corteza, top players who have all the potential to be near flawless in games, their enemy in the table is themselves, and they really cant forgive themselves for the tiny mistakes they make which matter a lot against top competition.
the disappointment shown by not shaking hands is not about the hate they feel towards the opposition.
and you can't generalize. bata reyes is a class act.
Your not the only poor people who lose from silly mistakes. We all make mistakes and regret , self control is part of respect, respect is an essential part of the game .Whether your poor or wealthy, strong or weak, you still need it to develop as a player.
Since each players represents his country in such events, I think they should try their best make a good picture of their country for others.
common cues made before and after are has the same material but in this generation... new technology applied to many cues...
Cuetec has fiber glass bonded cue, Predator has combined 8 pieces construction, and the last some Cue Butt has new Technology too...In Predator they made Butt with lesser vibration ....what else??
