  • He needs more to do--get some hanging treats and some toys in the cage. Add only one at a time as not to overwhelm him.

  • looks like mine, but, still is alive? because this video is 2007,if still alive, means you learn to take good care of him, like they need fresh water every four hours because water create bacteria every four hours, and they have a very delicate respiratory system,no candles, cigarretes,or nonstick cooware, beacause emit a lethal gas poison for them.I hope he is still happy today like in the video.

  • awwwwwwhh it so cuteeeeee!!!

  • my cockatiels name is buddy 2

  • He must see his reflection in the camera

  • my cockatiel loves this! He's old, but this really wakes him up and sends him to his mirror!

  • Haha, cute

  • my bird has a yellow face and multi colored tail is it a boy for a girl caockatill

  • @WelcometoAusraila09 big red cheeks female small red cheeks male

  • @WelcometoAusraila09 It depends on the type of cockatiel he is. If he's a common grey but has bright red cheek spots, it is male. Other color combinations can only be sexed by a vet.

  • my bird has a yellow face and multi colored tail is it a bot for a girl

  • Wow my pet 'teil perked his ears up when he heard Buddy and he usually doesn't.

  • HOLY CRAP WHERE ARE JUST TOYS?? poor guy! i hope this is only a temp cage or yu take him out a lot <3 buddy

  • how do you tell male from female?

  • @Ink4life1000 # Most males have a bright yellow face and bright orange cheeks. Females usually have a grey or white face and duller orange patches. Males also tend to have a taller crest (spikey feathers on their head) while female's have a shorter crest.

  • He's so sweet looks so funny and nice!!:x

  • They need some green grass , leaves , branches, toys and card box (hut) , they love their little hut where they can hide and make their own home (inside cage) they will sing anyway in their private home a will be a lot happier. Thank You, Bird lover Luke . My email is bacillus@internode.on.net You can contact me any time. I have 5 (five) lovely birds in my home and they are free every day for few hours to walk around the house and in the garden. Some of them are quite big like Cockatoo.

  • Our little tiel is named Yoda.. he is 18 yrs old and really perked up when he heard Buddy singing... kept dancing and chirping back! =)

  • my tiels name is pretty

  • how do i get my birds it love me :( i just got them there 8 months Pearl lutinos :( i gave them toys and alot big parrot cage do i just leave them alone or play with them take them out or just leave them in for a week and talk to them :(

  • You have to hold them and love your tiels on a daily basis. They have to develop trust with you and it isn't going to happen if you just leave them in the cage all the time and don't talk to them.

  • ...

    Alright number one rule

When you first get them I leave them in their cage for about a day but talk to them.

play with them and their toys

The next thing is to teach him "Up" then everything will fall into place as time passes.

  • Yes. My new cockatiel (I got another one too ^^) learned to step up a few days ago although I got her at the beginning of the year. She is very tame now and loves to play and attention!

  • i wish my one was tame i got him today and he only approached my sister}:-| then he approached me but only because we held a banana chip for him...he likes em!!((so do i)) but at least he approached at my grandads he just tried to bite anyone who came close and hissed...hmmm

  • Keep giving him those banana chips, he'll like you if you earn his trust (from his perspective)

Also let him to get used to your hand VERY carefully. give him food with your hand inside the cage, instead of through the cage bars. try not to scare him, though.

  • Buddy's the same name as my cockatiel!!!

  • He's too cute.

  • I have a buddy bird too! He's always looking for a hen the little horn dog. I love your little guy - he's so handsome!

  • LOL My tiel Cheeky is whistling up a storm listening to Buddy!

  • Mine is too! She was sound asleep and now she is whistling and chittering. I wonder what he is saying!

  • my bird is going crzy while I'm listening to this

  • wow

    beautiful bird

    what type is it

    is that a lutino

or a pied well its not a pied i think

i like wildtypes with there beautiful crests

  • 10 months old

  • how old is he/she?

  • Is it a male?

  • its a male

  • I've heard that male parrots are a lot more docile/sweet-tempered than females. I know from experience that it's true with parakeets! ;D

  • Thats Bs cause my male cockatiel is the biter while my females gentle, but i agree that the male likes to sing more often.

  • Well, maybe it's different for parakeets, then, because I've looked it up at it's true at least for parakeets. :P Or maybe your male just happens to be an aggressive one. Female birds can be gentle, I was just stating that on average, male birds tend to me more passive.

  • Wow. Two typos there: looked it up AND*; tend to BE*.

    XD I need rest.

  • Well what i think is that birds are like us each one is diffrent so you cant tell if males are agressive or gentle because you read about its how you get to know them.

  • Well, I'm sure there are many many individuals that are different from the standard male/female behavior patterns. I think it's nothing more than a statistic of males vs. females on passiveness. I have no doubts your female cockatiel is a sweetie. (:
