UHM THIS IS PROBLY THE MOST REATARDED QUESTION EVER.. i've been playin bass in standard tuning since ive gotten my base, about a year now.. and i dont know what it means to tune a bass - half a step down or drop E to a D.. can anyone answer that for me plz?

well half step down is tuning all ur strings one fret deeper, if the songs dont have any open notes on the top string then you can just play it in standard but just move everything up 1 fret.

drop tunings are harder for me to explain as i am firstly a guitar player and dont learn how to tune differently i just watch videos but, drop d is tuning ur top string down to a d (2 frets or a whole step down)

so on a guitar to tune the top string you would fret the 5th fret and match it to the next...
