Great Job Pam. Really beautifully done. Gives you that feel good feeling when you see something that touches you this deeply. Thank you for sharing. May God help us save and protect them.
This video made me cry because it was so beautiful. This just proves even more how wrong the BLM & their "short & long term holding facilities" are. They want to PERMANENTLY keep the sexes separate....how different is that from a 'prison'....all male horses (because BLM geld all stallions) are in one holding facility & females (treated with PZP) are in another.....with hundreds or thousands of miles separating them....NEVER TO BE ALLOWED TO INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER. PLEASE THEM TO REMAIN FREE.
One of my mares died and we couldnt find her foal then 2 weeks- 3 weeks later we found it up on the mountian and i had to lead the foal back with the stallion i was riding and i couldnt belive it the foal tryed to suckle the stallion it was so funny they have been together ever since it has now been 7 months and the filly is doing great!
@liesjedr Read the story under the video - the stallion herded the foal down through a gate in the fence and took her to her mom in a herd of another stallion. The foal "Little Medicine" survived and now has a foal of her own. And the two bachelor stallions who fought are still on the range as of this summer.
pony9090 - no, the pinto is another stallion vying for the baby. The whole story is posted on my website under the Wild Horse link and then "The Stallion and the Foal."
Hi i started a channel for all the horse lovers like me. too be able share their interesting stories of them and their lovely horses :) and once i get 5-10 members ill make a video with a weekly topic. please sub so you can get a notice of my videos and if u like/ask ill sub back. oh an at the end of the week ill pick my fav and most like video in my next video topic :D
1:56. Gorgeous. That's amazing though, that Chaco saved the foal. I thought for sure in the end he would have killed it, like you said, stallions often kill babies that aren't their own. But, do you know that this isn't his foal?
But that's amazing. Chaco has a kind heart and spirit.
There are 2 most likely sires according to the gal that documents these horses, but Chaco is not one of them. He's just a very kind boy like you said.
Wow Pam that was amazing. This is a trait with Lions (me being from Africa!!) when a new lion takes over a pride he will kill all the babies that are in the pride and that he doesnt father. That must have been something incredible to witness!!!
This is most rare that a wild stallion protects a foal, (as they indeed usually kill them)...fighting the other intruder and then later at night guiding the foal all the way down the hill to its mother..
Please read the full story. The stallion ended up guiding the foal back to the mare. The stallion only protected the foal from the other stallion. They are all still running free in Wyoming, now over a year later.
bloody hell this is aboulty amazing and the ullings of wild horeses is happening here in newzealand more kimanuwa ponies have been killed of thisyear then ever before sooo sad
Amazing images. Can't imagine your emotions, being there in this moment. I do not understand people who do not appreciate these magnificent animals. Thankyou for fighting for them.
That's wonderful news! Hopefully she will always get to run free! Politicians are pushing hard for the removal of our Nations Living Legends...we need to fight now more then ever to keep the protections of the wild horse. I learned at a meeting last night that they want to cut back on protections even more (Burns Ammendment) and will be pushing for anything over 90 days to fall under the 3 Strikes/ Sale Authority Burns Ammendment :(
We must join all forces and fight this tooth and nail!
Pam BEAUTIFUL shots - this is an amazing capture for you. The music intensity was perfect for the chosen images. I look forward to seeing the entire DVD.
Wow, it's uncanny how much that little baby looks like Cloud...related maybe?

You're right - she does look like Cloud and we thought so too at the time. Cloud will be 15 on May 29th. :-)

was the foal his???
faridarc 2 years ago
The foal was not Chaco's (the stallion). Chaco's 1/2 sister (they share the same sire) is the foal's dam.
pnickoles 2 years ago
Maybe it was his foal afterall.
